I do look forward to it, but I think the teaser (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tYg0VgPy6Uk) was kind of misleading. I was hoping that PIXAR would finally be consistent with a darker tone and not mix it up with goofy humour, like they did with UP. That's exactly what happened there: Awesome emotional first half with a perfect balance between humour and drama, and then they threw in talking dogs and a generic villain wich obviously were only there to connect with a younger audience. Don't get me wrong, I like the movie, but the forced humour kept it from being a masterpiece. With the Toy Story trilogy, they managed to entertain both adults and kids at the same time, but in this new trailer for BRAVE, I find the humour to be a little off. You might say that HTTYD has some pretty silly humour too, but in this case, they had a much more comedic tone to begin with, especially with Hiccup's sarcastic monologue about their life. So either they have a consistent amount of comedy there, or I see another great movie damaged with some forced humour.

By the way, this movie might be a contender for THE WORST GERMAN TITLE OF THE YEAR.

Here, it's called "Merida - Legende der Highlands".

Yes, that is as stupid as it looks.

Though it's not as bad as HTTYD's german title, "Drachenzaehmen leicht gemacht".

Which translates into "Dragon taming made easy". I'm ashamed everytime I have to say that.

This is looking like it's gonna be really cool :)
Amy: You know when sometimes you meet someone so beautiful and then you actually talk to them and five minutes later they're as dull as a brick? Then there's other people, when you meet them you think, "Not bad. They're okay." And then you get to know them and... and their face just sort of becomes them. Like their personality's written all over it. And they just turn into something so beautiful.

If I ever have a boyfriend I want him to be like Rory Williams =)

I agree about the awesomeness! And I hope that soundtrack has a song in Erse Scottish gaelic. That's so cool of Pixar to show something in the language Merida and her people actually would be speaking in the movie.
"And now each night, I count the stars.
And each night I get the same number.
And when the stars won't come to be counted,
I count the holes they leave."

Would you be more or less excited if the movie wasn't in english and was fully subtitled.
In war, victory. In peace, vigilance. In death, sacrifice.

I'd love it if it were in subtitled Gaelic, but I think it would close out the younger audience. By the way, the Gaelic song in the trailer is "Tha Mo Ghaol Air Aird a Chuan" by Julie Fowlis

I did find the Japanese trailer, which is subtitled. They get SO much better trailers than the US does. This seems to indicate the movie is adventure and drama over comedy and has a darker side to it.

Trailer is here

I saw more about the "Brave" movie soundtrack listing. It seems there will be quite a few Scottish songs in the soundtrack sung in English and Scottish Gaelic. Julie Fowlis has several songs in it. She's the one who sings the Gaelic folk song in the trailer. In the movie, it seems some of the actor voices sing that very same song.

1. Touch the Sky (Performed by Julie Fowlis)
2. Into the Open Air (Performed by Julie Fowlis)
3. Learn Me Right (Performed by Birdy - with Mumford & Sons)
4. Fate and Destiny Score
5. The Games Score
6. I Am Merida Score
7. Remember to Smile Score
8. Merida Rides Away Score
9. The Witch s Cottage Score
10. Song of Mor du (Performed by Billy Connolly and Cast)
11. Through the Castle Score
12. Legends Are Lessons Score
13. Show Us the Way Score
14. Mum Goes Wild Score
15. In Her Heart Score
16. Noble Maiden Fair (A Mhaighdean Bhan Uasal) (Performed by Emma Thompson and Peigi Barker)
17. Not Now! Score
18. Get the Key Score
19. We ve Both Changed Score
20. Merida s Home Score

Here's the song from the trailer, Noble Maiden Fair, as performed by Julie Fowlis along with English subtitles:

I think that's cool that Pixar's first traditional fantasy will have some original ethnic songs in it. Makes me hope future HTTYD will put the same idea in future films. There are so many lovely Norse rimur songs, Scandinavian ballads and Celtic songs that could fit in there.

On Pixarplanet I have found some behind-the-scenes footage which seems to contain parts of the soundtrack. Sounds absolutely amazing.

Well, it seems there is a new trailer.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S6YID9K0Ylg&feature=g-u-u

It's not that impressive though, there is really not much new footage. We've seen 90% of it already, actually.

It's still not half as epic as the japanese trailer, but I really do look forward to it now. I guess I just have to accept the fact that it's much more a comedy than the initial teaser suggested. I know that How to train your Dragon's trailer didn't really do it justice, but judging from the tone of this new trailer, HTTYD may even turn out to be the darker movie of these two.

Damn, if somebody had told me five years ago that Pixar and Dreamworks would both do a movie with a similiar setting, and the Dreamworks one would turn out as the darker one... well, I would have tied him to a mast and shipped him off, for fear he'd gone mad!
