On top of the surrounding mountains, yes, but not on the ground. We had exceptionally warm days this week, but apparently it's going to get colder again soon. So it won't be long until the skiing/snowboarding season starts. Yay!

Some places near me saw a light coating on Sunday morning, mostly above 500 feet elevation. And there has been plenty more on the mountains. There was a touch of frost on the rooftops this morning though. |

There was some HEAVY snowfall last night in Switzerland. It looked like the ending of GotNF this morning! I love it

We don't get snow over here. And if we do it's rare and just a light dusting, probably only in Jan-Mar too. So just nippy weather in these parts! |

Yay! Snow is great! I really hope to get to New Mexico some day. Some friends of mine were there during the winter one year, and they wound up cross country skiing in the mountains, and they really were amazed by the experience. Otherwise, we have had some dusting of snow when Athena came through in Massachusetts. And in Iceland (my other semi locale), the north of Iceland got a snowstorm in September. That's not typical annually, but it can happen. It took the tourists by surprise, but the rescue crews were out and made sure everyone on the roads was okay, and we were being flexible with refunds if people had to stay longer. It's a good sign for the Hlidarfjall ski area. They open in November, but they got some early skiing in for the locals. Edited by Fjord Mustang, Nov 18 2012, 11:49 PM.
