About this forum This new community is basically what you make it! It is intended to be a warm encouragement for those suffering from any form of mental illness or mental health problem, from the more 'acceptable' depression and anxiety to the more stigmatised schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, in their various forms, and other illnesses, and also for their family, friends, health professionals and people who are interested or compassionate. This is a place to extend a hand of friendship, accept our difficulties, and support each other through this journey, wherever you are, even if you feel disconnected and isolated. Those with mental illness are first and foremost, people, who should not be described by their illness, with individual stories and values, deserving of human rights, love, connection and joy like all other people. Some of these people need to be understood, their voices heard, not stigmatised against and marginalised. Some of these people need the confidence, in spite of how they are treated, to say that they can be beautiful people.
Come on in, you are most welcome.
