<_< hi m8 got the bike running but it's not running right paul said he wouldn't sell me his bike cos there are better ones out there. any way i changes the whole ignition system, coils rectifier cdi and plugs but only running on 3 cylinders and sounds like a v twin with the shake of a harley and less power than one. have to work like buggery to get it over 30mph. i've had the carbs open and sprayed cleaner in like no tommorrow. the rubbers that join the carbs to the engine were intact but rusted on the clamps and i couldn't get them off so i held up the floats opened the throttle and sprayed hasn't made much difference. before it was running rough but it was running i came home on thursday night and went straight back out but it wouldn't start just made massive explosions in the exhaust flames and everything and i couldn't get it going one of the plugs was knackered the contact that you adjust the gap with was missing i think it's gone into the engine block. another was very oily and the very bottom of the ceramic bit was dark brown like it's cooked. there was a tiny bit of oil on the air filter nothing i would worry about. the battery worn down with all the starting i was trying so i cant check the plugs for spark without bumping it i'll try and get it charged tommorrow, its a new battery and its hold some charge. if you have any ideas please let me know. thanks jim. hope your ok c u soon. |
