Well, here in the Sanctuary, we pride ourselves in keeping things organized and orderly. As such, we do not want guides for champions to be made in a haphazard way. So I made this thread to help members create their champion guides in a way that's easy to follow. NOTE: Any guides that are created that are deemed too similar to already recognized guides will be closed, and the author will be notified. We do not want duplicate guides clogging up our forum, so PLEASE check other guides before you create your own. The basic for will be as follows, and i will describe a bit of each section. Title Table of Contents Lore Abilities Introduction Masteries Runes Ability Path Core Items Situational Items Early-game/Jungling Phase Mid-game/Ganking Phase Late-Game/Team-Fighting Phase FAQ Summary Title This is pretty self-explanatory. Each Guide should be specific, and give a hint as to how this build is played. Be creative and don't make boring title names like "Taric-Support" or "Katarina-AD." Have fun with the names; instead of "Taric-Support" name him "Taric-The Gem of Life" or something. Table of Contents' Pretty basic, make it possible to use ctrl+F to jump to sections, and show your organization. Lore & Abilities This information can easily be pulled from the League of Legends Site or here at the Summoner's Sanctuary, in the sub-forum or the corresponding champion. We want this in the guides so that readers may learn about champions they have never played before, and so that the champion info is on the same page, so that they don't have to open another tab or window to check the info. Underneath each ability state how this ability is used, and the usefulness of each particular ability in that build. Introduction Here you can state some of the basics of this build, and the general goal of this build, and the role you fill in the team. If you want, you can say a little about yourself, your experience with this champion, and why you believe this build is so good that you made a guide for it. Masteries Here is where the meat of your guide officially begins. State to the possible mastery set-ups for how your build can be run, and give reasons for why you built it that way. Remember, guides must be viewed and criticized before they can make it to sticky status, and so you must give convincing reasons for what you do, and why you do it. You also want your guide to be easy to follow for readers who are trying to follow the guide in while in a match. We don't want our fellow sanctuary members to get killed, or fall behind because they were trying to sift through all the text that is the guide. Runes Same as masteries, tell which runes to use, possible alternatives, and why you do so. Ability Path This is possibly one of the most important part of a guide, depending on the champion it is about. List the order, variants, and reasons as usual Core Items & Situational Items Some builds are versatile, and are for good reason. They are malleable, and can adapt based on who they are facing. In this guide format, you will separate the two into different lists so readers don't have to read through the guide mid-game to find out which item to buy next. Early/Mid/Late-Game The way you play a champion changes as the game shifts between phases. As such, you should separate each playstyle into different sections. This will help readers differentiate between laning and team-fighting. These sections should also be used for jungling champions, you can discuss the starting points, pathway, and ganking techniques. here you can also discuss how to fill your roll in your team, skill combination and the like. Here is where you use your "skill" as a summoner, so go into detail about how you use your champion effectively using this build. FAQ As your guide get critiqued you will likely see some recurring comments, and advice, here is a section for you to answer such comments. You can respond as to why you don't use a certain item, or build style. Summary Here is where you conclude your guide, say your thanks, and all that jazz. If you want you can include a TL;DR section here giving a shorthand version of masteries, runes, and items. And this concludes SxR's Format for Making Guides, please use this if and when you decide you would like to share your playstyle. Who knows? It may just become the next meta.
