The importance of workplace safety cannot be ruled out as a trivial topic. There are thousands of lives lost due to the negligence of safety facilities in workplaces. The employees who work in factories and industries are the worst affected from workplace accidents. By adopting health and safety measures, a majority of these incidents can be avoided. It is the legal obligation of the employer to provide health and safety training for employees. Failing this can invite legal action against the company and the employer has to take up the responsibility of any untoward incident in the workplace. Many international organizations like World Health Organization and International Labor Organization has advised governments worldwide to adopt norms for protecting men and women who work in hazardous conditions. Therefore, it is important that companies employ basic health and safety precautions in workplaces. The safety measures taken by the companies in the workplace should be highlighted in places where employees frequently visit. This will be an assurance for the employees that they are working in a safe and healthy environment. Each company should invest some time for training employees on the importance of workplace safety. The employee should be educated on necessary steps that can be useful in case of an emergency. Safety of employees should be considered important regardless to the fact whether the employee is working in a factory or an industry. |
