LOL Might not be such a bad idea, Bull Moose, you and Grizzly would of course probably be the only contributors to that topic - oh, sure, I'd read the posts, but probably don't have much input into that. Speaking of farm animals, please guys, can we keep my second marriage out of the discussion!?!?

Okay, let me get this straight...you think that animal husbandry is marrying farm animals and you admit to having some experience with this in high school...the bon-fire is going to last the good part of a three day weekend and there is not enough beer in our fridge (but don't worry, we can get more). You are an interesting man Bullmoose :-)
One of my many very valid points (IMO), is that the fun stuff will be used far less than the everyday moments of living. The everyday moments are the things that we should concentrate on as those are the things that you KNOW that you will use. That being said, the "fun stuff" is also an important part of prepping and should not be ignored but I don't feel that it should be the focus.

I wholeheartedly agree with your assessment (and not just me being an interesting guy.) I think as a group, we have successfully diverted the trap of getting to caught up in the "fun stuff" and focusing more on the day to day skills. But by doing so, I think we have opened up an area of vulnerability for the group by being to "untactical". The threat now is to know when the group is proficient enough in tactics and to leave well enough alone. Because all silliness aside, most members are going to have more fun running and shooting than collecting fern shoots.
It does not take a majority to prevail... but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men.

When you say "members", you are probably correct in thinking they'd be having more fun with lead in the air - however, the majority of any survivalist group is going to be "non-combatants" - women and children, old people, etc. that would probably wholeheartedly prefer gathering ferns, or eggs, or even cow chips!! LOL So, yeah - I think you're safe in assuming nobody would try to wrest that role from you!!!
