We watched The DVD "Gas Hole" the other day and what was interesting about it was that any car, truck or gas burning engine can be made to get higher gas milage by turning the liquid gas into vapor as it burns more efficiently without loosing power. We got it from netflix and added it to our personal library. According to some people in the movie, this works with all liquid fuels. . So 100 to 200 mpg Or more was always an option for car makers since the 70s. |

Cool! Is that some modification that a normal person could make or does it involve an entirely different combustion system than what is currently used? |

I have always been searching for some home made gas saving ideas. You always used to hear of inventions like this years ago but they always seem to disapear. My guess the gas companies wouldn't make a killing so they bury any inventions. The same goes with many other problems of the world like cures for cancer and other ailments would hurt the drug companies. It's all about "money". Some just can't get enough! Back to the gas saving if I came up with somthing I would keep it for family and freinds only if everyone could keep quiet about it. I also wonder if it would only work for older carberator type motors rather than modern fuel injection. Either way with todays gas prices it would be great to come up with something. |

There have been several inventions that would have allowed cars to run on almost nothing...one website quoted the 200mpg amount. Not saying that I believe everything that I read but far from it, but this makes sense. I believe that the gas/car companys need the lower standard in order to keep customers coming back. I have read that the big companys do indeed buy the prototypes and the rights to these inventions and they get "lost". All for the sake of little pieces of paper that are covered in green ink and dead presidents. |

In the dvd Gas Hole, yeap, the guy who designed the vapor maker and installed it on his car got 200 mpg and ended up dead. Just a quick guess but all he used were standard items but I can't be too detailed as I didn't see the patent. |
