Does anyone else out there feel like hell will be located in a stack of produce boxes?????

Yes, but heaven is found when you open the cupboard in the middle of winter!

Hang in there...canning season will be over all too soon. Or just about when its time to sit next to a warm fire and sew, knit, or do other winter tasks.

I once worked with a woman that saved all her vacation (3 weeks) and took it during canning season. She made the comment that it was nice to get back to work so she could relax a little! But, in a way, Raven, you're a little ahead of the game in that you have the ability to dehydrate some of the produce and so you can be doing a couple different things at once. Just what you wanted to hear, huh? Farming women were "multi-tasking" long before anyone gave it an official name! :)

Of course, if you get the chance to stop in a grocery store and read the ingredients of what's in the food people Who Dont Put Food By eat -that's hell. Think of all the healthy unadulterated food you get for the effort!

As soon as I can see over the stack of boxes I will try to find the time to think of that....my goal is to try to get at least to a managable level of stress before piglets are born. We were supposed to get to go to a meet up with a bunch of preppers in WI today :-(
I feel like CRAP and have to much to do so we aren't going :-( :-( :-( :-(

Oh, no!! You're not going? That's really too bad - I was hoping you'd get a chance to relax a little, learn a lot, and get re-charged. Although, I wonder if, when they planned this, they took into consideration that it is the season of harvesting and preserving.

Yeah, the timing works for the most of them and I do not question it. They are all canners and dehydrators themselves. The time works for them as they have shooting matches and other things going on at that time. I am disapointed that I can't go and we had a blast last year and did quite a bit of networking and met a bunch of liberty minded, self sufficiency minded people. Next year, if we are allowed to travel, will be a whole new year. We plan on going to visit with a couple of them at a later time at any rate, to keep the relationship going.

Well, that probably isn't ideal, and I can imagine you're pretty disappointed, but I think its important to keep some sort of ties with other prepper friends. I think sharing of knowledge and pooled experience is invaluable - especially if you think about the fact that, at some point, that kind of exchange may be impossible. Impossible because travel outside a 15 mile radius of your home is not possible due to the SHTF.
