15 miles is a luxury these days. My dearest hubby and I agreed one day we would not travel and for the last few months, 12 miles into town on bikes was about all we could handle. At least we've got it down to 45 minutes.

Dearest has also managed to make a trailer for the bikes to haul goods back so that makes it easier to shop.
You can lead an ass to knowledge, but you can not make it think.

That is actually a very smart move. Kinda like a mid-evil pick up truck!
You are ahead of the game with that kind of thinking.

That is probably the smartest move, HF, but nobody ever accused me of being overly smart! I take the opposite approach - I want to go everywhere and see everything I can cram in before I am no longer able to do that. I want to take the boy-child to see things outside his ordinary world and be able to have memories of places and people and things. My challenge is being able to afford it! But, even if its just little jaunts about the State, its good experience for both of us. Although, we both do have bikes and there may come a time when that is how we travel on our "adventures"!

Mommacat, not to get off track, but have you ever taken him to the MN zoo? That would have to be an amazing place for a younger one. Those places amaze me although it's been quite a while since I've been to a zoo.
Our ancestors left Europe to get away from this crap...as seen on a bumpersticker fns

No, Grizzly, I haven't. I just haven't been up for that, yet. I think this year he'd be old enough to enjoy it. I think taking very young kids is a waste of the price of admission - they don't get much out of it and all they want to do is eat and go to the bathroom!! :) Maybe we can do a "joint FTX" and go together, Raven!! :)

Sounds like a nice neutral place to have a meet up!
