I thought this was interesting - This guy takes hot air from his greenhuse roof and pumps it into a below-ground storage. He is not getting enough heat gains as to heat all winter but he is also doing it in reverse- making ice over winter to store for cooling and food refrigerant over summer. http://www.sare.org/Learning-Center/Multimedia/Videos-from-the-Field/Thermal-Banking-Greenhouses I also heard of a guy in Hastings who built an elaborate system for his greenhouse behind a wall to heat over winters and cool over summer (same unit just works in reverse of the season). That guy also grows hazelnuts and designed a machine to harvest them by shaking the tree. . . HF |
