I don't know if this has ever worked in another sim league. I don't even know if it's even been tried in another sim league. We're going to try it anyway.

So basically what I found is that in many leagues, people lose interest after a couple of seasons or so. This usually happens with the bottom feeders who have dug themselves into a whole and have no chance of getting themselves out of it. While some strong leagues obviously have averted this situation, I feel that using this idea might just add a bit of excitement into the the sim league. While there are no guarantees it will work, I think that it makes it more competitive for the entire league if we try this.

So this is what I'm proposing:

After the 5th season, we revamp the league. It's like starting over completely but not exactly.
How I plan to do this with players is the following:

>That years Rookie Draft will take place as normal.
>All players with rookie contracts STAY on their current teams regardless.
>Players that have been with a team for 4+ years STAY with their current teams regardless.
>The REST of the players are put into a DRAFT
>The order for that draft will be randomized in a certain way.
>The teams will then go through 8 rounds of a snake draft.
>1st Round players will receive a 3-4 year contract starting at around $10 million
>Subsequent players will have a reduced salary, and as we go to the next rounds the contract length decreases.

>The picks that have been traded will remain traded.
>The player camp accounts will remain the same.

That's my idea of it currently. Some doubts I faced is that after year 5, there will be no meaning for the off-season FA, but I think the players that remain on teams during the break-up will have their contracts expiring during the course of the next five years and so there will still be big name FAs.

This concept is open to debate, so feel free to give suggestions or any other stumbling blocks you think we might encounter if we implement this.
