Where..... Am I......? Green eyes scanned a field full of dying flowers. The lingering scent of lavender hung thickly in the air, lovely yet suffocating. The field was vacant, a chilled wind of oncoming winter sweeping through. A lone horse stood at the boarder of the field. A large brindle body ambled it's way out into the field in a drunken fashion, a sway in the creature's step. The dominantly white body, marred with scratches of gold, stuck out like a sore thumb in contrast with the rotting vegetation. The only thing more noticeable was the bloom of red that flowered from the right side of his black and white face. The stallion felt the dull throb in his head suddenly sharpen, forcing him to stop as the world began to swirl. He stumbled, forcing him down on one knee. With an aching sigh, he gave in to gravity and allowed himself to fall into a tri-color heap on the cool, yet soft ground. What happened to me? Who am I....? |

Winter was on it's way. She wasn't trilled about that-- winter was always harsh in the valley. She could feel the chill of it sweeping up the steep cliff at the end of the valley, and preparing to come crashing down on them all like a giant wave. It would also be her first winter as leader... Taking a break from her job, she retreated to the dying perfume of the lavender fields. It was a pleasant place that she had many good memories of. She liked it here. It gave her clarity of mind and peace. But there, stumbling across the lavender patch, was a figure she'd know at fifty paces without hesitation. "Tanix?" She ventured. He fell. Arianna panicked. "Tanix! Oh my goodness!" She raced over to him to try and assess what had happened. The streak of red across his face-- he'd been hurt! Cool fear took it's grasp on her, colder than any winter breeze. "Tanix! Tanix, can you hear me? Say something!" Her voice was shrill with panic. How she wished she knew how to heal, how to use the plants of the area to help him. She didn't want to have to go off and find someone to help. She needed to stay put. She needed to make sure someone was with him. Most of all, she had to calm down and think. "Oh... oh dear...." |

(okay~) Nitis was wandering until he heard that shrill sound. He pinned his ears, hating the ring in them. "Gah, what is that?" He muttered, trotting towards it against his better nature. What he saw shocked him. "Tanix?!" He gasped, running down towards them, "Whats wrong? Is he okay?" He didn't knwo the mare but his herd-mate was injured, so she cuold wait. (g2g, mom and dad are being...... yeah about stuff. gotta get stuff unpacked. I hope we never have a flood again.) |

Green eyes snapped back open as a voice cried out, followed by the sound of approaching hooves. A primitive fear gripped the stallion's heart at the thought of a stranger charging at him. Panicked, the stallion forced himself to his feet, grunting as the world swayed and his head throbbed. He looked up in the direction of the voice, to come face-to-face with a golden-spotted mare. An unknown golden spotted mare. The stallion backed away quickly, head high and eyes wild with fear. Once feeling a slightly safer distance away, he stopped. What had she called him.... Tanix? At the sound of the name, something seemed to click. Tanix..... That's me. I'm Tanix. How did this mare know him? He had never seen her in his life! The stallion winced and backed up a few steps when the mare yelled, obviously frantic. Though, the stallion still couldn't register anything besides his name. "P-please, don't yell..." He begged in a weak voice. Oh GOD, did his head hurt... The stallion vaguely noticed the appearance of a second horse, followed by more yelling. He turned, darting off a few more yards before turning back to face the strangers. His ears flicked about, heart thumping wildly. Pain. Yelling. So much was going on... It was difficult for the stallion to not just turn tail and never stop running. Edited by Tanix, Dec 13 2011, 05:22 AM.

He stood back up, but only after she had yelled, and after the other stallion had approached. She'd never seen him before, either, but that could wait. "Oh I-I'm sorry..." She said, regaining control over her voice. He looked so frightened, so hurt, and so unlike himself. He had regarded her with blind fear just moments ago. "You're hurt..." Her voice was gentle, "Please don't strain yourself I... One of us will go get help." She looked sideways at Nitis. She hadn't seen him around before, but he knew Tanix. That was good, at least. "Just... take it easy..." ooc: ick! Catch you later! D: floods suck. I'm sorry. |

Tanix, though still wary, let out a deep breath when the others kept their distance. He felt his body shiver as his adrenaline wore off, his headache coming back tenfold. He gritted his teeth softly, keeping his fearful green eyes trained on the mare. Well, she seemed friendly enough... He could finally understand what the mare was saying. "I'm... hurt?" He inquired softly. For the first time, he noticed the blood dripping off the side of his face. Well, that explains the pain. Tanix, deciding that his company meant him no harm, laid back down. His legs were throbbing too much to stand properly. A thought crossed the brindle's mind. "Who are you? How do you know me...? Where am I?...." Questions seemed to flood his mind, but at the moment, those three seemed most important. Edited by Tanix, Dec 13 2011, 05:38 AM.

"I'm Nitis." Replied the liver chestnut, "I'm one of your herd mates. We ate apples together one time, and got drunk off of them." And that memory made the dark stallion laugh a little. "Okay, um, well... You are Tanix. Yes, we have that established. Second, your hurt. Okay, also established. Third, we are Bahiri horses. Fourth, I have no clue who she is," He flicked his tail at Arianna, "But as long as she's not hurting you, we're good." Nitis turned to his head to grin a little at Arianna, and then cursed his own easy-going nature, "Oh, and we're in the meadow. Lavender feilds, such a beautiful place..." And then he completely turned to Arianna, his face serious. "I don't know where to go to get help, do you?" His eyes had been joking, but now they were serious, "And I'm Nitis. Odd way to meet, but nice to meet you in any case." He kept on ear on Tanix, wishing he knew how to help his herd-mate. |

He didn't know who he was? The look in his eyes sent pain riveting through her. He didn't trust her before, but he didn't distrust her either. She froze while Nitis spoke. So he was Bahari, too. That explained how he knew Tanix. That didn't mater right now though. Tanix was injured and frightened, and didn't remember anything. It took her a moment to regain her composure. Thankfully, Nitis had finished speaking. She took up a gentle tone. "I'm Arianna. We're...on good terms." She hesitated to use the term 'friends' since Nitis was present, and since that conversation in spring.... "What he says is true, although I'm not from the same herd you are. That's doesn't mater, though, what matters is that we need to help you. You're going to bleed to death if we just stand around here." |
