Well, John Prescott's coming to one of my locals in a couple of weeks for a party fundraiser. I look forward to the dominoes team asking him why their fences haven't been fixed, and why we have two bins now.

People get really passionate about bins don’t they? Just put your rubbish in them and carry on as normal would be my advice.

Gordon should leave it until June 3rd and point to the fact the last time the country elected a labour government right before a World Cup we* won it.

* When I say we, I of course mean England.

I used to write a Blog about the Letters written in to the Wrexham Evening Leader about Bin Collection, I'll see if I can find it. It's such a hot topic, and people get really het up about it, and I'll never understand why.

Yep round here the delivery of a new bin is met with the sort of moral outrage and indignation normally be reserved for the gang rape of an elderly family member.

'A future fair for all' sounds like a slogan devised by Father Ted. All it suggests is the future is going to be OK for everyone. Not exactly something to strive for but you've got to start somewhere.

The smart thing Loggers would be tactical voting if you're in a Tory-held seat, or one that's marginal. Vote for whichever of Labour or Lib Dems is most likely to keep Tory Boy out of that seat.

I'm predicting a hung parliament - I think the Tories will get the most seats, but not an overall majority. They'll then form a minority government with the Lib Dems, with Vince Cable getting the Chancellorship and Clegg as Home Secretary probably. They should also get election reform, making General Elections proportional in some way like the local or European elections.
Probably.

Cameron is incredibly lucky that this Financial rubbish happened because it seems to be the last thing that took the public away from Labour but when you look at it Cameron is a terrible, terrible leader.. his policies are Thatcherite but he doesn't have the strong character that made Thatcher appealing to voters.

A Cameron government would be awful, I'd say he's the worst opposition leader I've seen in my lifetime.

In my lifetime I have seen four PM's (Thatcher, Major, Blair and Brown) and I hated them all though to be fair Thatcher's reign was during my childhood so most of what I know of her is based on old footage and fuzzy memories and other then Spitting Image ripping the piss out of him I remember hardly anything about Major at all.

To anyone with a better memory then me was Major really that bad or just a really boring old cunt?

YouGov poll in today's Sunday Times has Labour cutting the Conservatives' lead by two points. The margain is now six points, with the Tories on 39%; Labour on 33% and the Lib Dem's on 17%. As it stands it is estimated that the Tories will win the election by ten seats, though if the polls change any further it is likely to give Labour the advantage. What it shows is that people are very much tired of a Labour government, but the more we learn about the Conservatives' policies the less we seem to be trusting them too, leaving the prospect of a hung parliament looking very likely.

The game's out there, and it's play or get played. That simple.

And yet the Lib Dems aren't doing better in the polls. They seem completely incapable of taking advantage of their position as, potentially, the default for dissatisfied voters. Clegg is just an uninspiring leader.

It really is amazing how the Dems constantly do nothing to take away fed up voters from the big two.

They really need to grow a spine and start taking chances.

Interesting article here: http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2010/feb/23/imf-backs-cautious-approach-to-spending

It seems that the IMF is backing the government's stance on the economy and that going down the Tory road of cutting everything in sight would be a rather silly move.

That's pretty obvious to me, the Tories seem to be saying "well you fucked up the economy Mr. Brown, so let's do what them cheerful American's were doing before this whole mess was started.. by you."

The Tories are always some distance removed from European monetary policy anyway. Labour have always been more interested in aligning with prevailing economic views where the Tories tend to want to batten down the hatches.
