Is anyone else on the forum looking for a place to live? House/flat prices these days are absolutely ridiculous. How on earth do people justify them? How can a pile of bricks and a few bits of carpet be worth £250,000???

Fuck off. That's what I say. At least I'd like to, but it seems we're stuck with it.

I was shopping around a few months back looking for a place to buy with a view to letting.

The rent i'm charging more than covers the mortgage though, so it's all gravy.

That'll be the reason I don't want to rent!

Remember ages ago I said about that girl I knew who was making some huge back tattoo for her fella when they hadn't even been together for a year? Well, they've just bought a house and are doing it up. I asked how she afforded it and the response was 'lol dunno' but further prying makes it sound like he'd bought it which means either army mechanics get paid more than I thought or he's getting help from somewhere. Either way, it all sounds like a recipe for disaster to me.

Shut up. Just fucking shut up Harry. It's thanks to selfish bastards like you that first time buyers find it so hard to even buy one!

I'm in the same stupid position. We've got 2 incomes, I'm even vaguely well paid nowadays, and yet we don't stand a fucking chance of buying a house unaided. A two bedroom terrace costs over 300k in Guildford.

I've been saving like crazy but the prices go up quicker than I can save. And fucking buy-to-letters are always outbidding on the best bargains. The government should bring in some seriously heavy taxes to dissuade people from doing this.

Look Loki, that's just how the cookie crumbles, my friend.

I'm hoping to add another to my portfolio before I hit 35, and continue from there.

It's easy money to be honest.

I love how everyone thinks they are a businessman these days.

I need to add to my portfolio, my economic value to a country that would kill me for political gain before helping me when I need is decreasing?

I guess we all know what the original series of The Prisoner was talking about all those years ago - I am not a number, I am an economic tool with no human value.

I hate the world. Beyond the fact there is no purpose to life, the world humans have created is devoid of any spiritual reason. It's like waking up with Shane Diesel's cock up your ass every day until death.

I'll tell you what Wicky, you just keep on working until you either get old enough to retire or die.

I'll stick to my formula, which should see me living off a healthy passive income before too long, laughing at chumps like you when I zoom past in my cock-extension of a car on my way to grab a coffee with my mid 20's wife.

Whats that you say? When will that be?

It'll be any time I fucking well please, because every day will be Saturday in ol' Harry's life by then.

I own a house. I'll have paid the mortgage off in a few years because I bought the fucker 12 years ago and could sell it for over three times what I bought it for. Takes the piss, really.

Well, house prices are starting to fall, so hopefully you'll lose all your money in a mini-crash :P

Found a house I really liked but the vendors wouldn't go low enough, which was less than 10% below asking price. So they've not sold the house, and I've not bought a house. You might see that as a lose-lose situation, but apparently they don't.

I had an amusing letter through the post today. Apparently I can buy 40% of a place and rent the rest, all for only £1100 a month. Why on earth didn't I do that before?
