Couldn't see a topic where we can share all our tips and shit, so I've started this. Was doing my daily patents at Ladbrokes Online, saw this, and thought of one of our dearest and most beloved members. Well, one of your most beloved members, I'm still mad at him for slagging me off at the UKFF. But not mad enough to have 10p each way on:

I won a shit load last night. Spunked £40 on Everton, but then I used the rest of my account money (a tenner) on some daft corners bet that came off. I then stuck that on Besiktas to win at 3/1 when they were a goal down - they won 3-1. So that got me £125. I then stuck £15 on Galatasaray to win after a -1 handicap at 7/2 - and they won 4-1! It was a good evening. I like betting on the baseball too but finding decent streams is even harder than for the Premier League. |

Had three patents (two e/w, one to win) today at Warwick, Epsom and Newcastle, and 8 of the 9 runners were earners; even the one "failure" came second, but it was in the To Win bet. I only spent £3.50 today, and think I made about £15 or £16. If I'd got the guts to have more than 10p bets I really would be celebrating tonight, but I'm the first to admit I have plenty of shit days and when I keep the bets low, it's still a nice bit of fun regardless of whether I win or lose. |

What I normally do is when I get paid, which is usually through Paypal, I sling a spare tenner in my bet365 account. I try and build it up to about £30 to £40 and then sling it all on a football bet usually. I don't bet much on the horses aside from doing an occasional Placepot. |

You'll have to tell me what a Placepot is. I'm a relative betting newbie and haven't been doing patents that long. I used to have trebles all the time, but I just never won on the bastards. |

You pick horses in the first 6 races of a meeting to come in the top 2, 3 or 4 depending on the amount of runners in the race. You need all 6 in to win and the money you win can vary greatly depending mainly on where the favourites come in the race. They are good if you like small bets as 50p can still get good returns, obviously it could all go down the pan in the first race but that's the game Edited by Baz Windham, 30th August 2010 - 07:46 PM.

Basically, pick a meeting in the UK or Ireland. You pick a horse from the first six races on the card. If they all place or win, then you win a share of the total pot bet on Placepot for that meeting dependant on how well your horses did. I won one last year where none of them won and still got back £33 on a £1 bet. It's good fun. EDIT - Or the abridged version would be - what Baz said. Broke about even this weekend. Don't usually bet much online, usually the local bookies instead. But this week I was up and down online from a £20 deposit, which ended last night with losing the remainder of it on Madrid to win from half time. Got a double up at the weekend though from a tenner on Man U -1 and Glentoran, but haven't collected it yet. Won't be doing anything really this weekend due to the international break, but will probably play a bit of poker instead. |

I wish Ladbrokes did UFC betting, actually. They don't seem to offer anything like that. I've got a William Hill account which I opened recently to try and get a free £25 bet, but not deposited anything in it yet. WH often seem to have a wider choice of bets, including entertainment and daft ones. Anyhoo, doing a lot of patents today after my successes yesterday. I can't see me doing half as well today, but I'm having a good time and that's what matters! Here's my tip of the day for you, let's see if I can make it 2 for 2:
9/1 right now at Laddies, certainly worth an each way flutter. Though not an official tip as it has below-average form, I did pick the following simply because of the name, which I do sometimes when I'm struggling to make up the numbers in a patent:
Don't even know what the odds are, but had this Animal each way in a 3-horse patent and hopefully it'll Walk Alone to the finish line. |

I've not seen any sites that offer the range of bets that bet365 does, and they do far more live betting than anyone else too on some really obscure stuff. I do use William Hill sometimes though. I also used bwin for a while but they turned out to be shit. |
