Animated Sigs / Avatars; Crackdown imminent

The Daddy Posts: 7,879 Group: Admin Member #25 Joined: July 2008	Greetings Members, We all like an hilarious football animated sig, or dancing bear avatar, and we've never really had firm limits on what people can put in their sigs or as their avatars. But there are too many on the forum at the moment, and that plus our various new features are slowing down load times. So, we'd be grateful if you could restrict yourself to only one (avatar or sig),and no pic or animation should be over 1 meg. Any offenders as of next week will find their ability to edit their sig mysteriously disappear and be replaced by a picture of some unfunny Irish gay comedian. Or something. Thanks The TWCF Team

Dirty Stinking Rat Posts: 2,590 Group: Members Member #36 Joined: July 2008	How fucking shit is everyone's computer/internet that the GIFs caused them a problem? I've never noticed them on any system I've had to be honest. Loki's cracked down on my sig many a time. I can confirm he has an almost irrational hate of bandwith-glugging images. Loki had warned me previously for having a gif in my avatar and sig. I couldn't tell it was causing problems till it was pointed out to me though. Times are getting tough around here.

For some people it's not a problem, but for others they'd had to turn off sigs, and I felt it wasn't TOO harsh to restrict it to 1 meg. That's a lot more than most forums.

How the hell do you ever get the videos of those "barely legal girls going too far when drunk" downloaded? As mentioned, the state effectively pays for me downloading them.
