Rheumatoid Arthritis is a chronic, inflammatory debilitating condition leading to loss of functioning and disability if untreated. The disorder manifests with inflammation. Increased stiffness early in the morning is a prominent feature of the disease. Rheumatoid Arthritis Ayurvedic treatment is quite effective. External therapies such as Abhyanga or therapeutic oil massage, Podikkizhi or powder bolus massage, Elakizhi or leaf bolus massage, Njavara or rice bolus massage, Pizhichil or oil bath, Lepanam or medicinal paste application etc and eliminative procedures like Virechanam or purgation, Sneha Vasthy or oil Enema, Kashaya Vasthy or decoction enema etc are administered in the treatment of Rheumatoid Arthritis. After the first session the patient gets relief from the painful episodes. There are fluctuations in the pain. The pain subsides for a while and may increase later. The treatment increases the gap between the episodes of pain. Subsequent to 2 or 3 sessions of treatment programs and internal medications, the disease controls to an extent. The Ayurvedic medications for Rheumatoid Arthritis include Rheumat tablet and Rheumarid tablet, these are natural pain relievers effective against all Rheumatic conditions.
