This is one continuation from the thread - http://s4.zetaboards.com/Tangled_Eternity/topic/8827098/1/#new

Jorkinn smiled as he looked up at the tavern's sign:

The Raw Stump

It already seemed like his sort of tavern, with glass littering the street and boardered up windows. It was only just turning dark and the place was already beginning to fill. He could make some money this evening.
"Tavern or not," he thought to himself, "You can never have too much money. Just in case." With that, the gnome stepped forwads, entering through the creaking door. The main room was lit only by candle-light and the roaring fire at one end, radiating enough heat to make the place bearable. Barging as best he was able towards the bar, Jorkinn quickly rapped his knuckles off the bar, before ordering a mug of the cheapest ale in the place. No doubt it'd taste the same no matter what he ordered. After paying up and grabbing the tankard, Jorkinn quickly settled into a corner of the tavern, laid down his bags, stood an empty pitcher in front of him, removed the lyre from his back and began to play.

Across the street from the Tavern
Slap! And that was it, his face turned to the side by the impact of the slap, the next thing he knew he was pushed out on to the streets and the door slammed behind him. He sat himself down on the pavement outside, the coldness he felt from the pavement on his rear as well as the pleasent breeze made him look down and realise he wasn't wearing any pants. The prostitute seemed to have realised this at the same time as the door flew open again only to lauch out his pants which landed on his head before the door promptly sealed itself with a slam. He taken them in his hands as he rolled on to his back as he pulled them up, he was unsure how he managed to remove his pants without taking off his boots but alas, a mystery is always a good thing to have.

He looked up to the sky as he realised the night was still young, it was good to get the first rejection out of the way early. There was no instruction from the dark god or his agents after his previous assignment. The sign creaked by the wind, swing from side to side by the chains holding it, the raw stump.

Inside of the Tavern
Inside the sound of the droning patrons endless chatter was the dominant noise, second to the bell of the cash-register which rang per transaction, the occasional burst of laugher of the patrons also rang out, much to the detest of Estor, he consolled himself that the laughter was too loud to be real laughter, it was "trying" laughter, the desperate laughter to try and encourage a good time. As Estor approached the bar, he taken his hat from his head and held it to his chest to look at the bar-keep who was too busy cleaning the counter with a dirty rag.

"What'll it be, fella?" Asked the assumed land-lord.

"Your cheapest Cider, please." Without ever looking at Estor, the land-lord placed the warm bottle of cider on the the counter with a bavarian glass pint tankard, taking the coins given by the customer before returning to his cleaning duty "Much obliged" remarked Estor. Estor taken out a vial of lamb's blood and poured it in to the bottom of the glass before filling the rest of the content with cider. It tasted digusting to be sure, but it sure did take the edge off. As he turned to face away from the bar, he began to hear the sound a strumming lyre.

Jorkinn nodded to the patron, kind enough to have dropped a silver coin into the pitcher, almost half full now. He'd known it was to be a good night, and so, reflecting his mood, changed the calming lullaby into a face-paced tune, his fingers moving effortlessly across the silver strings, hardened now to their texture after so many years of playing. Looking up, Jorkinn scanned the area quickly, his eyes settling on the cider-drinking man for a moment, before he continued onwards. He could feel the man's gaze, a rarity, as people seemed to assume that the music came from nowhere. The Gnome nodded polietly towards a particularly whorish-looking female, offering her a sly wink before his eyes returned to his instrument, the fast tempo livening the bar's mood, as the darkness set in outside.

The music was in a somber tone at first, rather dry even for Estor's taste, yet even a dry taste would be greater than the cider he drank. It tasted like vomit, a funny coinsidence since it made him feel like vomiting, none the less Estor braved the storm for the sake of... He had forgotten the reason for him to drink it, if nothing else but to make the most for what he paid for. His eyes scanned for the source of the music as a distraction from his terrible investment, it came as trying to find a needle in a haystack, he looked around about three times at all the tables.

Unless his ears deceived him it was coming from the corners perhaps the one furtherest from him. He looked over there, nothing, then to the one on his left, nothing. He looked back again at the furthest only to see to his surprise what he thought was a dwarf, yet his build was very frail almost as though it was a gnome. A fabled race, from Estor's blind-understanding they were a shut-in race, one that locked themselves underground to count their hoarded money over and over for eternity. The gnome seemed to notice Estor's attention, reflecting his gaze before returning to his "jamming", as the trolls would know it.

Estor placed his hat on the counter behind him, taking out a small mirror to check his reflection, as though to ensure there was nothing distinctly odd about his appearence. He couldn't see any fault, he couldn't say he was impressed by the vision reflected but there was little that he felt others might consider revolting. He placed it back in his pocket. As he checked himself the melody from the Gnome's lyre changed, it called on the patrons to lift their spirits and live joyous lives, the indecipherable clattering of gums escorted with the protruding noise of conversation seemed to respond in kind to the change. Estor first taken steps to hang his hat on a coat-rack, something he unintendedly forgotten to do on his enterance. As he approach the gnome, with his cider concotion in hand, he taken a golden coin and placed it in the tankard.

"Mighty fine rhythm you have there." Remarked Estor.

Jorkinn continued with the fast paced tune, nodding to a few more open-palmed patrons, lifting his hand from the strings for a moment, Jorkinn continued to strum the rhythm as he took a swig from his ale, before returning his hand to the strings.
Glancing up, Jorkinn noticed the male again, the hairs on his neck sticking up ever-so-slightly. Grinding his teeth, the Gnome continued to play, head down, not noticing the man again until he walked over, the jangle of a coin louder than usual.

"Mighty fine rhythm you have there." the man said casually. Jorkinn looked up, offering a smile, before inclining his head politely.
"Thanks for the kindness" the Gnome said, nodding towards the pitcher and its contents.

"Thanks for the kindness" the Gnome said, nodding towards the pitcher and its contents. Estor looked at the gnome to see it's face, he had distinctly queer-shaped eyes. Estor turned his back from the gnome as he looked on at the patrons. Estor was especially impressed by the gnome's ability to hold the rthym and take a swig of his brew at the same time, clearly the gnome was no ametuer performer.

"Thank you for the music, without it I'd imagine this place would be a lot more unlively, and that would be a shame." Replied Estor, stirring the drink his hand lightly, noting at the bottom of his glass were the blood was beginning to coagulate. "How is the pay, entertaining here in Dunkelstadt?" He looked back at the gnome after he asked his question, so he may give gnome the confidence that he held Estor's attention.

Sondira wandered into the bar, her emerald coloured eyes flickering about. There were neat holes cut into her black hood for her high elven ears to poke out of. Strands of fiery red hair framed her face and could just be seen contrasting against her pale complexion from underneath the hood, even though half of her face was cast in shadow. Her ebon cloak was tightly pinned around her to cover her clothing. Walking towards the bar, the heels of her boots made loud clunking sounds against the wood. She mumbled to the barman whom nodded and returned to her with a glass of red wine. Nodding in thanks and leaving a few silver coins on the bar, she turned to look around. She noticed a man talking to an odd gnome whom was playing music from the corner of the room.

Humming, she decided to observe a little longer.

Straw. It's a funny thing straw. You get different types of straw. There's the smooth dried husks of wheat, there is sturdy corn stems and horrible prickly barley strands. However the the funny thing is about straw is no matter what type it is, it never tastes good. And when you fall asleep with it in your mouth it makes a tongue rather parched. Which was the situation for the Rev's mouth as his brain stumbled into the realm of the living. Almost entombed by straw, the rev had likely passed out from early drinks gone outside for fresh accidentally walked over to the next town and fallen asleep in a barn. Or in this case the next city. As the rev crawled out of his straw bed covered head to toe in the stuff he glanced around blurry eyed and wondered why he couldn't see anything, and quickly deduced it was night time. That also meant it was time to drink. Again.

Wandering along the street the Rev stopped at every door and assessed it's likelihood of being a tavern or similar establishment. It wasn't going too well until he stumbled literally upon "The Raw Stump".

The Rev: "Beggars, cannot be choosers."

Entering through the humble sized door into the tavern it was the typical scene, drinks, people, a gnome playing an instrument and elves with red air. The usual stuff. Still covered in straw the rev brushed himself down, attracting a few eyes from the table closest to him as strands of old dry stems floated into their drinks. Turning to the annoyed patrons the Rev tipped his head.

The Rev: "How do you do, your drink has some straw in it, I don't know if you noticed?"

Wandering on, the rev walked directly to the bar, stumped him self down on a seat and gave the bartender a long empty stare.

Bartender: "Yes? Can I get you something?"

The Rev said nothing instead held up a single index finger, as he rummaged into his rags and out of seemingly nowhere pulled out a pipe, filled it and lit it using a nearby candle. The Rev put his finger down.

The Rev: "Bring me.... a pitcher of ale, actually make that two!"

Puffing on his pipe he waited for his drink. blowing smoke into a rather large patron that was next to him. He didn't look like he smoke.

"With due respect" Jorkinn continued, quieter this time, "This place is a dive, though drunk people will always pay vast amounts for a bit of music. I'm making enough." he said, grinning as he continued playing. The tune changed again as Jorkinn's fingers took on a slower strumming pattern, deep, low notes filling the room, darkening the tone, like the lyre in this Gnome's hands could change the mood of an entire room.

"How about yourself. Enjoying the wonders of Dunkelstadt?" the Gnome smirked, his confidence growing as Estor's reactions became kinder, polieter. The Gnome strummed one final note, louder than the others, before swiftly removing his jacket, lying it behind him, and restarting the tune, barely missing a beat. The patrons seemed not to notice, as they continued to drink merrily, the music absorbing into their atmosphere.

"With due respect" Ohh, those words that are an excuse for when you are about to offend someone but do not want to feel the consequences of the offense. "This place is a dive, though drunk people will always pay vast amounts for a bit of music. I'm making enough." Estor was surprised that no offense was present in his reply, perhaps the gnome felt Estor cared for this place, as though he was proud of it. He wasn't quite sure what a "dive" consituted but he assumed it was a metaphor that the gnome had been to better places and this place was a "dive/descent" for him. Compared to the Abyssal pit, this place for Estor was a haven, there was no fecal matter to be seen anywhere on the floor.

The gnome changed the tune again, this time it came in a somber and over-bearing tone, Estor was quite taken by the rhythm which only concerned him that he could be lulled by music still. "How about yourself. Enjoying the wonders of Dunkelstadt?" The gnome had a smile on his face, something that Estor couldn't quite fathom, he could only merely taken it as a sign of pleasentness rather than authentic emotion. "Ahh, wonders never cease here, though it is hardly the ..." His words stummbled, trying to think of something better than Dunkelstadt. " ... The ... The shadow palace, but there is life here, varied life, it makes itself so colourful." Estor hadn't ever seen the shadow palace but it seemed to be quite revered, if nothing else, something that is revered surely must be pretty, musn't it?

The gnome taken off his coat by the time Estor had finished speaking, again picking up a tune as naturally as a drunkard picks up a pint. Estor drank down the rest of the concoction in his glass, holding the empty tankard in his hand and looking at the gnome's tankard, he asked "Might I buy you a drink, sir? I can pop your jacket on the rack as well, if you wish."

Jorkinn smiled polietly as the man continued to talk, though his eyes scanned the tavern once more, settling upon faces that piqued his interest for a moment, before continuing across the bar.

"...It makes itself so colourful." the man said, as Jorkinn realised he was still in conversation. Nodding polietly as his fingers continued to strum the lyre, he hoped that the gentleman hadn't noticed his lack of attention.

"Might I buy you a drink, sir? I can pop your jacket on the rack as well, if you wish"

Jorkinn smiled polietly, replying "To the drink, aye, but I'll turn down the hanging offer. This jacket's my life if I'm honest. More pockets than a thief this thing has" he smiled, inclining his head in thanks to the gentleman. Scanning the bar once more, Jorkinn's eyes settled on the elven female, her ears protruding from her hood. Smiling towards her slightly, in the hope she could see him, he thought about the best way of bedding her, the music following his happy mood, shifting tone once more.

Estor found himself confused slightly by the gnomes response, it reminded him of the time he spoken to a confessor of the dark god, the man merely listened, said little in response to anything Estor said. No affirmation by the other person that anything was truly absorbed or gained through the talk, just mindless drivel to fill the void that is existence, Estor was unsure whether this was a good or a bad thing, or least a thing to be expected.

"To the drink, aye, but I'll turn down the hanging offer. This jacket's my life if I'm honest. More pockets than a thief this thing has"

Estor looked at the gnome at what was a quickly fading pleasent smile to a fleating change of expression, Estor's right eye broke co-ordination with his left to see what the gnome was looking at. At first he assumed it might have been a dark elf, to which if it had been would have only furthered Estor's belief that this gnome had a lack of a survival instinct, but alas Estor had never seen a dark elf with orange/red hair like hers. Misbegotten pointy ears poked out from her black hood, Estor could count the number of folks he had encountered with worn-up hoods who had good intentions without using any of his fingers. Whether she was a dark or a high elf was irrelevant, she was still trouble.

"I do not fancy your chances seducing the elf, mister Gnome." Said Estor, rather quietly as to not attract the elf's attention. "But alas, each to their own." With that the vampire turned on his heel and made his way to the bar, passing the elf as to be served at the other end of the bar.

Sondira sipped at the glass of wine in her hand. She managed not to cringe, despite the very acidic, vinegar-like taste it held. Her emerald eyes from under the hood moved across the room, flickering from person to person. As a voice bellowed, quite close to her, her gaze turned to a man whom ordered two pitchers of ale.

“I shall have to keep an eye on him…,” she thought, eyeing him up and down “if he becomes too intoxicated, I am the closest to him. He is likely to start on me first. That is, if the dozen other people in here whom are leering at me, do not do so first.”

She had picked up on the fact many were staring at her, including the occasional looks from Estor and Jorkinn. The High Elf contemplated whether it was her attire or her gender which drew the attention to her, coming to the conclusion that it was likely to be both. Sondira prayed she would manage to go without trouble, at least just for tonight. The red head glanced to Estor once more, whom was talking to the gnome and looking at her. She made sure to watch the gentleman as he passed her to be served at the other end of the bar. Occasionally, she would look back over to Jorkinn, musing over how much of an odd couple they were.

Little rings of smoke gently unraveled from the Revs pipe and mouth. He had fallen into a peaceful state of calm minded zen like state of mind. That was until the music changed and the rev jerked slightly suddenly remembering what he was doing. Knocking back some ale his eyes swiveled and observed the room as a rather shady looking character passed behind him heading to the bar. The Rev then decided it was time to check his finances, giving himself a pat down he quickly deduced that the money situation was not good. It was time to do what he did best. He gave a quick glance at the elf sat beside him who had seemingly been blanking him out for the majority of the time the Rev was sat there. Facing forward the Rev began to speak towards her direction but at times kept his eyes forward.

The Rev: "When the world was young, before there was light and darkness there was a time when the gods created the simple things of our world. Like colours, colours were all created to serve a purpose as to define the elements of the world."

The Revs hands began to fiddle discretely under the table.

The Rev: "Red is the colour of warmth and fire, it represents passion and anger. As such, folk with red hair tend to be just that."

Turning to look at Sondira the rev smiled from under his cloak. As his hands stopped.

The Rev: "You should be careful, or one day you might just set on fire."

The Rev stood up and finished his drink. And walked away from the bar leaving a broken lock on the table in front of Sondira. A lock for a safe. Strolling away the bar tender took one look at the broken lock and empty safe and his eyes set upon Sondira. As the Rev strolled on he deposited a large sum of money into the musical gnomes pot smiling and made for the door.

Estor stood perfectly still as he waited in the rather crowded queue, he hated the closeness of people to him, the whole invasion of his personal space. He couldn't help but feel that people could tell from being so close that he smelled, he looked around, none gave him eye-contact, yet all of them breathed through their nose, Estor was sure they could smell it yet all of them wanted to save face. Estor hated them privately for their capacity to lie, he hated their unwitting evil and most of the time he worked to draw out their witting evil so as to save them from themselves, Estor then began to feel what he was thinking was an utter pile of nonescence and he should forget it all.

Estor's hand drawn down to his side and slipped in to his pocket, drawing out a tiny mirror, raising it in line with his head, he taken a look at his own reflection. The lighting was dim in this establishment, it seemed to reduce the visible paleness in Estor's complexion.

"What'll it be, fella?" Estor noticed he was being served by the same gentleman as before.

"Ah, a small bottle of red-wine please and-" Estor's request was interupted by an exclaimation by the other side of the bar, by the bar-tender.

"Boss!" Estor looked over to see the bar-tender waving his hand, the land-lord did not appear to be impressed by the interuption given the mass of patrons still piling up to be served.

"Won't be a mo', fella." He said with a voice gritter than the roads outside, reaching immediately behind the counter for his flint-lock rifle.

At Sondira's end of the bar ...

The land-lord approached and taken a look at the empty safe and the lock on the table, the lock had been removed at the top of the safe and the lid had now been flung open, the wooden panel that covered it from the customers had been removed, given the panel unlike the lock was not located exactly where Sondira was, the land-lord approached with restraint.

"Ya'll take the contents of this here safe, hunny?" His rifle wasn't raised but by his side, his face was grim looking at Sondira, his heart was racing, all of the savings the tavern had collected were in that safe, that was a significant amount of coin. He couldn't help but wonder, why did he keep his savings behind the bar?

The strange man said, and Sondira frowned; whenever someone spoke to her in a place like this, it just spelled trouble "You should be careful, or one day you might just set on fire."

Little did Sondira know that she was right; the odd man rose from his seat and finished his drink. He left a broken lock on the table in front of Sondira, a lock for a safe. Infact, it was the very same safe from under the counter. She had noticed what he had done, and raised her eyebrow with a look that said she was impressed.

"Boss!" The bartender looking at Sondira exclaimed. He was waving his hand, the land-lord did not appear to be impressed by the interruption given the mass of patrons still piling up to be served.

"Won't be a mo', fella." He said quietly, Sondira could only just hear him. He moved immediately behind the counter for his flint-lock rifle.

“I did not, however the man whom did has just fled the bar. Search me if you wish, I have nothing on me of your belonging,” she said rather coolly, her voice containing a strong, feminine depth to it “I can help you catch him if you wish, despite it being none of my business.”

The High Elf shrugged somewhat, casting a glance from under her hood towards Estor. Pale, slender, slightly aged. She contemplated if he was merely a sickly old human or perhaps something more. The red head paid it little mind; as long as he didn’t bother her, he was in her good books. If the bartender was to enrage, and she had to defend herself, she would have to quickly calculate who was on her side.

“I did not, however the man whom did has just fled the bar. Search me if you wish, I have nothing on me of your belonging, I can help you catch him if you wish, despite it being none of my business.” The land-lord stepped back a bit in despair, he believed the elf. He looked up, feeling the beating of his heart down the vein of his neck. Her voice was cool, calm and well spoken to the land-lord's ears, it was clear she wasn't from these parts. "Nawh, nawh. No need for touching a lady, I believe ya'll. What did the fella look like? Did he say 'owt?" Sigh. He thought back to the words of the elf obliging her services, perhaps it was all part of the ploy, why would the fella have left her in-deep with the lock in front of her?

Estor looked over at the brewing trouble, he felt rather impressed with himself, seeing the woman he saw as trouble being exactly that, in trouble. He wasn't quite aware of his actions as he crept over to try and get a clearer picture of what was going on, perhaps to get a good look at that face perhaps also the reason why she felt the need to hide it.

The red head set her emerald eyes on the landlord; she hadn’t really gotten a good look at the man whom had sat beside her, as she was keeping her head down and trying not to attract attention. Now she regretted that fact.

“He had a pipe… I could smell the smoke,” she said, her tone slightly absent of emotion as she was focusing on trying to find an appropriate answer “he rambled on about how colours serve a purpose, I assume he was commenting on my hair. I would recognise his voice, I apologise, I do not know more.”

Running her fingers through her fringe, as that was the only visible part of her hair. A small sigh passed her lips as she looked to the bar tender. There was no way he was going to buy her story, although she was more than willing to prove she had nothing on her. She shot a glance to the unknown vampire, who seemed more than curious about the ruckus that had been caused by the fleeing stranger.

The tall elf's description seemed to be worth moot, the land lord feel some anger, he couldn't deny. The bar tender under his employ read the signs and had prepared a potent drink in preparation, the land lord taken it, sniffed it first and appeared taken back by the smell before knocking it back. What to do? What to do? How was he going to keep this place affloat? Damned thieves, how could have been so stupid, the bloke had assumedly waltzed right out of here without so much of an obstacle and had little go on as far as a description. He was about to thank the elf, before he was interupted by one of the patron's offering their services. He was elderly and frail, the land lord was expecting a complaint by the old man and was fully prepared to punch him in the face given his sour mood but instead . . . .

"I couldn't help but overhear," said Estor, facing both the land lord and the more than useful elven witness. "I work in service of the great one." Estor popped the glass on the table and pull down his sleeve to show a "living" tattoo on his wrist, a symbol of eternal servitude to the dark god, it changed in appearance over and over, never remaining the same. The eyes narrowed, his face somewhat grim in expression as he looked to the high elf as though to impose the seriousness of the situation "You did not see the perpetrator, you say? There is a seer around these parts who is in our services, should you allow it, I'm sure he would be able compensate for your lack of observation." And they say high elf senses surpass humans.

Sondira did her best to keep her cool as she looked to the elderly gentleman, careful to not give any tells that might give her true allegiance away. The Seer would be able to pry into her mind, find out her most secret and hidden thoughts. This, the elf could not allow but if she were to refuse right now, it would most likely raise suspicions of everyone in the room. If she was truly innocent, what reason would she have to refuse? And so, the red head nodded in agreement.

“Very well, if that is what is required of me.” she said quite calmly, looking between the vampire and the landlord. She prayed that some form of interruption would save her from having to undergo the mental probing of the so called Seer. The elf finished off the last dregs of her drink before slipping from the stool with as much grace as one can doing such an action. Her emerald eyes watched the vampire with intense curiosity. None bared such marks unless they were valued by the Dark God. So just what exactly was he? Time would tell, she imagined.

Estor's face sat on the brink of a frown as he watched the elf's response, any response she given, whether it was cool and calm or terrified and doubtful would only further his cause to suspect her. There was in reality no response she could give to prove she had nothing to hide and the thought amused him. High elves were not a rarity among these parts but finding one of even temperment was scarce, Estor assumed elves that travelled to the dark lands in thirst for endless power as opposed to notions like self-control, the fact she had not incinerated the landlord at even the slightest question made Estor think she was of the latter.

“Very well, if that is what is required of me.” Estor's eyes turned left as he recalled his precise words: If you should allow it, perhaps the elf wished not to help at all. "Well if you wish to aid our investigation, then yes. It would be required of you. But I need you to absolutely agree without condition to aid in our investigation considering you are under no obligation. It is the law of these parts I am afraid." the elf stood taller them him once she risen from the stool, Estor appeared less than amused as though the very fact she was so tall was an act of defiance against him. He would at least give her every opportunity to cop out and escape, yet at the same time given every reason for why she had no reason to escape or avoiding helping him. His mind then turned to his hat, hung upon the rack when he entered, he would have to collect it.

She realised that she was being too cool about the situation, but to suddenly change attitude now would clearly draw attention. To try to gain the trust of the gentleman in front of her, she lowered her hood, being careful to slip her ears out of the holes made for them. Reaching up, she neatened her fiery red hair with her willowy fingers and turned her attention back to Estor.

Sondira looked down to the frown of the vampire, trying to resist the temptation to smirk at the idea that she had unintentionally annoyed him. If she had been trying, it wouldn’t have been amusing. To try and keep up the façade of wishing to help, she bowed her head to the pair. “I consent, however I am unsure if the magic which runs through my very veins, will be a problem for your Seer. I have heard such tales before.” she said casually, but of course this was part of her ruse. She had no intention of allowing the Seer to realise where her loyalties lay. They would surely kill her if they knew.

“By your lead, sir.” she said, gesturing towards the door of the bar. She had clearly assumed the Seer was not present in the tavern and that this would take a little trip. Sondira could indeed escape, and with her athletic build, she could probably do so with ease. The right opportunity would have to present itself.

As the elf taken down her hood and sifted her fingers through her hair, Estor looked with a raised eyebrow at her beautiful features. She smiled, insisted upon showing good natured goodness, going to far as to bow her head in a notion of inferiority. Oh, come on! “I consent, however I am unsure if the magic which runs through my very veins, will be a problem for your Seer. I have heard such tales before.” Estor was unsure what was meant by the last part, she had heard such tales before ... She had had the experience of a seer searching her before or merely was classed with a charge of knowing such tales, a light-hearted set of question during the course of the travel would unravel that mystery, no doubt.

“By your lead, sir.” She said by his lead yet she notioned on its direction, Estor scowled for the second time, her audacity knew no bounds as to prod him so impromptly. "I am Estor, Estor Goebbels of the Dark God's hand. You shall know me as such." he turned towards the land-lord and nodded breifly. "You shall close your business for the night, I shall arrive by the morrow should the dark god see it in his favor to return your earnings." The land-lord was somber now, sad infact, the reality of closing of the night must seem like a god-send for the man. Estor moved towards the door, taking his hat from the rack and popping it on to his head and turning back from the door to the troublesome elf. "As you consent mi'lady, let us go." Not all of us live as long as you.

Turning her emerald gaze towards the land-lord, she bowed her head to him slightly. “I wish you the best of luck sir,” she said, her voice as smooth as silk as she returned her hood to it’s former position “should I see him, I shall bring him to you so that you might impart your own justice.” With light footsteps, she followed the agent of the Dark God, her cloak trailing behind her slightly with her strides.

"I am Estor, Estor Goebbels of the Dark God's hand. You shall know me as such."

The elf could not help but raise a slender, well plucked eyebrow at Estor’s title. She tried her best to not allow her heart to skip a beat however the muscle within her chest protested and did so anyway. This man before her dealt with the Dark God personally, this could not, in any way, be good for Sondira. As they left the tavern, the sorceress decided to not say anything more without at lest a few moment’s forethought, yet the situation now was like quick sand; if she struggled against Estor’s will, she would most definitely sink, however sinking in this context would possibly be a lot worse than simply suffocating.

Agents of the Dark God were well known in the Kingdom of Light for their interrogation methods, and their mode of execution was almost myth amongst Serenity’s people, naturally few were able to tell the tale of the latter. This man, assuming his title was genuine, was going to be a definite challenge for Sondira. The stories of torture were wild and not something the red head wished to find out personally.

The road outside was cobbled and the buildings were closely packed together, with the occasional gap were alleyways which lead to a maze of more alleys. Upon glancing up and down the street, Sondira noticed that there was very little light, with a ratio of people to match. Those whom were wandering the streets, often were clad in dark clothing and making some effort to hide their faces whilst keeping their heads low. Estor seemed the only exception from this. The very thin, light rain caused the stone beneath their feet to shine ever so slightly. Her heels echoed as they collided with the moist stone, but perhaps not as much as it would have done normally. She made sure to remain close to Estor as they walked, unsure of where he was about to lead her.

It seemed like the night was murky tonight, he couldn't feel the water on his face yet he knew it was beginning to amass, the world was full of disappointment, it didn't live to pleasure you but instead spit on you, Estor had come to know this. Estor had no contact with the dark lord, like all of the dark god's created children, he was subject to abuse and neglect, never once being told he was of value, of use, had he ever been of use?

His eyes turned to the elf, he didn't understand her but that was irrelevant, all these well wishes she spouted on to others, like the land lord, as though under the illusion that land lord would ever care if she'd stopped breathing right now, another dead body is nothing to anyone! Just another dead body. Perhaps she was dead man walking even now ... Perhaps he was ... Perhaps they all were. The place to which they intended to travel to wasn't far, it wasn't far because it was the tallest one-level house in the area. It was the home to the orge seer that the dark god's subjects had the wisdom to enslave but first ... Questions.

"You mentioned that you had heard tales of magic otherwise hindering a seers capacity to perceive the astral realm from your sight"
Said Estor as though it was an accusation "Where did you hear these tales from?!"

“When you travel from tavern to tavern, you pick up on bar talk. That particular tale I have heard multiple times, so I believe it is safe to assume that there is some truth behind it. No smoke without fire, as the saying goes.” she answered rather coolly. Sondira managed to remain this cool due to the fact she hadn’t actually lied yet; she had in fact heard this tale multiple times. The elf just neglected to mention the fact she had such an encounter in the past.

She couldn’t help but pull the cloak around her a little tighter; she was not used to Dunkelstadt’s weather at all. It was cold compared to the forests she was accustomed to, and the rain was much heavier due to the water rolling off the treetops. Here it was rather fine and managed to soak the skin in a short amount of time. Her green eyes fell on the tallest house on the street, looking curiously at it before glancing to Estor, following his lead.

( OC: Sorry! Got stuck... )

A tiny puff of blue smoke wisped up from the roof of the tavern, the cold moonlight illuminating every particle of smoke in the air. Faint sounds of rummaging could be heard as The Rev rummaged through the lock box as he sat upon the roof. Picking up an item, examining it, biting it, looking closely at it, sniffing it, licking it, tapping it. Each one then thrown into the distance. The lock box was now empty of all but a ring, a silver ring with onyx bands and a single small ruby in the centre, however it shimmered in the dark with faint signs of life. Grabbing the ring gently and bringing it to his face The Rev squinted at the ruby before the light suddenly vanished. With a look of disgust The Rev through the ring into whatever demise lay below.

Rev:"Typical, fake magic rings."

He had not found what he was searching for.

A cold breeze blew across the back of The Revs neck, as he silently rolled over onto his belly and peered over the roof and took another puff on his pipe, someone had left the tavern. Best be quiet.

Sondira:".....So I believe it is safe to assume that there is some truth behind it. No smoke without fire, as the saying goes."

The Rev thought to himself, *Talk of magic. seer's? I wonder*

The Rev then immediately recognised the elf he had used as a distraction not moments ago, and the elderly man that had also been inside. Deciding to tail them The Rev Silently dashed between roof tops leaving no sounds but only small puffs of smoke in his wake until they reached a tall house. Patiently, The Rev observed.

The long ears within the mane of red hair, beneath the hood, quivered slightly due to the light chiming sounds of metal against stone in the distance; the rings which The Rev had tossed over the sides. It was a faint sound, due to the rain and distance however her ears were not just for show. Sondira thought nothing of it at first, merely dismissing it as someone dropping something in one of the many winding alleyways. Her emerald coloured eyes turned back to the Vampire escorting her, after a quick glance around.

“I presume you already have a suspect, sir?” she asked, feigning curiosity. The woman had already done the math that he was more suspicious of her than he was concerned with finding the actual person who had done it. Most figures of authority were like that, in her experience.

Jorkinn awoke on a hay mattress, grunting as he flailed out, looking for his tankard. Grasping the handle he took a long gulp, his mouth dry from the evening's events. He allowed himself to grin as his hand cupped around the young woman's breast, before he slid from the bed silently, sliding into his trousers and throwing on his linen shirt, before putting on his jacket, a faint jangling echoing slightly through the air as he did so. Finishing his ale, Jorkinn checked his lyre was in its sack, before throwing on his backpack and striding out the door. The noise hit him again, and clearly things were still in full swing inside the tavern. How he'd managed to sleep through the noise amazed him, "But I've always been good at surprising myself" he reflected, whistling a tune as he picked his way through the carnage and out into the streets of Dunkelstadt.
