ive played on the ptr and i rly like the archon change. but most pvps r 2 gate pressure now

I don't know if the stalker/sentry build time decrease will effect much except pvt. The standard 1zealot 1 stalker poke hits 5seconds earlier meaning the difference between a bunker or a extra marine. As for pvz i still feel that pvz will generally be 3gate expand oriented and not very 2gate pressure oriented as the -5 seconds on sentry means you can get 4 or 5(?) before wg's.

2gate Zealots will be alot more common now, back in the day's of early SC2 Zerg couldn't FE vz Toss cause of it. Sadday.

I hate the pylon nerf.. It's lame.. I like all the other changes other than the archon being massive :(. And why nerf 4 gate, just buff the counters. And disagree with the way starcraft 2 is going. It's gunna be a macro only game from now on :(

There isn't a way to effectivly "buff" the "counters" to 4gate... the only way is to make other units stronger because the 4gate is just about the number of units comming out. meaning to buff the counters would making other units stronger, creating more balance issues... imo, i like all the changes.

Also, the archon being massive barally changes anything, they can now crush FF's, and they arn't slowed by conc shell, meaning marauders can't kite them (which was stupid anyway)

Also, i see no problem with they pylon nerf... it forces you to build proxy pylons closer to the ramp, meaning defending a 4gate with a non 4gate in PvP is much easier as you can FF the ramp, and use stalkers to hit the pylons since more than 1 will be able to hit it now.

Also, it's not true that a macro game is the only option... 4gating is still an option as well, but maybe other cheese are still possible (DT rush, proxy 2gate, cannon rush...)

I really still am failing to see how these changes are bad for the game in anyway other than the fact that the early game protoss dynamic of getting WG's as fast as possible is now more of a choice (which imo is how all upgrades should work, they shouldn't be *mandatory*) Now protoss can chose to get WGs if they are pressureing to warp in with a proxy, or they can keep them/turn them back to Gateways to get the faster build time if they are defending.

Wut Kakoon? Almost everything about this patch is going in the right direction and Starcraft has always been a Macro game, the point of Starcraft is to command huge badass Armies and be all super gosu. Yes Micro matters here but this isn't Warcraft in space. If you don't like that Blizzard is trying to make Starcraft 2 actually FEEL like Starcraft then go play some other Micro RTS.

Somoner said everything I wanted to other than that.

Apparently the addition of the Archon being massive will make archon/zealot a viable build in PvP, which although i've never seen or tried, sounds pretty awesome.

patch notes have been updated.

Warpgates nerf has been reduced to 20 seconds, but they've got rid of the faster build time for gateway units other than sentries. I guess they realised that proxy 2 gates were going to explode :D

Also Thors now have energy (lol) as well as infestors getting a slight speed nerf, and Archons get a range buff

im sooooo glad thors got energy. not only does it make HT more viable, but a strong thor timing was really hard to fend off, even with a bunch of immortals.
