Obviously the biggest disappointment with Voyager was the Delta Quadrant being a virtual clone of the Alpha and Beta Quadrants. Humanoids manning warp-driven ships, utilizing Starfleet-equivalent warp coils, phasers, and disruptors. The budget is not the handicap here; the Imagination of the writers is. Had Voyager been produced after the coaxing of CGI, and with higher-brow script writers, we might have had a totally alien quadrant introduced to us. The closest we came to alien-aliens was Species 8472 from fluidic space and they were nothing special. |
