Well, sorry for no pictures, but I have no image hosting and, you can't paste in <_< . anyways.... Skills Skills are always important to barrows, in fact, almost each skill can be used to help you succeed in this minigame. Attack: Bare minimum: 0 Well-off : 60 Even Better : 70+ I have : 76 In this minigame, my stradegy focuses around magic, however the melee that it does use it backed up by poison. Highly recommened that you have 60+. Strength: Bare minimum: 0 Well-off : 60 Even Better : 70+ I have : 77 Once again, even though magic is the main skill in this guide, it will help. Defense: Bare minimum: 20 Well-off : 70 Even Better : 80+ I have : 77 This is going to be unbelieveable for you pures, but, barrows is a game of tankers. High defense is highly recommended for this stradegy, which using a mere 0 to 2 doses of prayor potion a trip. Plus recommended armor is barrows armor. Ranged: Bare minimum: 60 Well-off : 70 Even Better : 80+ I have : 71 You can not survive barrows without either high melee or high ranged, but I suggest both. Rune crossbows with high level bolts are punishing to any fow, man or spirit (or monster). Prayer: Bare minimum: 43 Well-off : 60 Even Better : 70+ I have : 70 This is a skill where I wound recommend not having the bare minimum. The bare minimum will NOT work without using many prayor potions. Once you get to the well-off and even better, it's not for the prayers, but more for the prayer points. "Every point counts." Magic: Bare minimum: 50 Well-off : 70 Even Better : 80+ I have : 84 Magic is what my guide focuses around, and it focuses around having slayer dart at your side. And the higher your magic the higher and more often you hit, so.... Runecrafting: Bare minimum: 0 Well-off : 42 Even Better : 65+ I have : 65 I don't personally do this, but you can make your own runes. Slayer dart uses one death and four minds per shot. At level 42 you can four minds per ess, so that takes care off the minds. At 65 runecrafting (Don't aim if you don't have ... takes forever) you can makes deaths, and five minds per ess. Could help you out, and the abyss is easier to use now, but always beware or the renevants. Construction: Bare minimum: 0 Well-off : 50 Even Better : 67+ I have : 69 Construction is helpful in many ways. You don't need to have it, but look at the advantages. With 67, you can make a mahongany lecturn, and make house tele-tabs, they help because once you get your loot, you can tele to your house. there you can pray at your altar (Mine's gilded ), and then use your portal to teleport to kharyll, assuming you have finished desert treasure, and you're right back to where you started.Hits: Bare minimum: 60 Well-off : 70 Even Better : 80+ I have : 79 Hits = Life, Life = Good. Comprendo? Agility: Bare minimum: 0 Well-off : 40 Even Better : 70+ I have : 60 Agility can help your trips move faster, but it doesn't really matter, becuase karil drains it all . I generally end up, at the end of a trip, with 24/60 agililty.Herblore: Bare minimum: 0 Well-off : 38 Even Better : 63+ I have : 57 Herblore allows you to make your own potions to help restore your prayer. While you can just buy them, with 38 prayor you can make prayor potions. (Which is what I do, I also gather the ranarrs, takes awhile. This is why I based my stradegy on using food instead of using prayor potions.) And with 63, you can make super restores, which heal your prayor points even more! Theiving: Bare minimum: 0 Well-off : 40 Even Better : 59+ I have : 60 Theiving isn't very useful here at barrows, but it can be used to gain money, arrowheads, and some runes. At 59 you can reach the blood stall, which after a long while can supply you with bloods. Crafting: Bare minimum: 0 Well-off : 43 Even Better : 84+ I have : 65 Well, once again, crafting is not very useful, and if you do need you can just buy. However at 43 crafting, diamond rings can be of use to save your life when enchanted. And 84 crafting provides the making of a full set of any dragonhide, useful against Ahrim. Fletching: Bare minimum: 0 Well-off : 40 Even Better : 69+ I have : 85 Fletching, like most above, is another skill you can just buy. However at 69, you can make rune crossbows and bolts, which is useful against Ahrim. Slayer: Bare minimum: 55 Well-off : 60 Even Better : 70+ I have : 65 The only point of this skill here is the slayer dart. You need 55 to use it, no questions asked. Hunter: Bare minimum: 0 Well-off : 37 Even Better : 63+ I have : 56 Sadly, the only corrilation I can make is that You COULD use the kebbit bolts as a weapon against Ahrim, or maybe the chimonpas, not recemended nor useful. Mining: Bare minimum: 0 Well-off : 55 Even Better : 85+ I have : 72 You can use mining to gain the ores for you bolts or arrows against Ahrim. And that's about the only use for mining Smithing: Bare minimum: 0 Well-off : 54 Even Better : 90+ I have : 63 With smithing, at 54 is mithril bolts, 55 is mithril arrowheads, at 74 is adamant dart heads, at 75 is adamant arrowheads, at 89 is runite bolts, and at 90 is rune arrowheads. Have fun making your ammo if you don't choose the buy. Fishing: Bare minimum: 0 Well-off : 60 Even Better : 76+ I have : 82 Fishing: you have too choices, buy your fish, or fish them. My stradegy uses a lot of food, so 60 is for the fast monkfish that I use. I suggest fishing them, then stopping to take a break in 100s, 500s, or 1000s. Cooking: Bare minimum: 0 Well-off : 60 Even Better : 80+ I have : 79 Cooking is to cook your fishies. Then cook what you caught, or simpily choose to buy them. Firemaking: Bare minimum: 0 Well-off : 0 Even Better : 0+ I have : 56 Pointless, pointless, pointless. No need for it, you don't need a lamp. Woddcutting: Bare minimum: 40 Well-off : 60 Even Better : 75+ I have : 72 Only useful if you're making arrows or your own crossbows. Cut what you need, fletch it and use it. Farming: Bare minimum: 0 Well-off : 32 Even Better : 62+ I have : 56 Farming is actually quite useful, even thought it takes awhile to raise. Growing your own herbs can be faster than harvesting (If you don't play much). Grow your own ranarrs or snapdragons to make your potions. What to wear Now, as we all know, slayer dart works well even with armor on. Right? Wrong. It works because the barrows brothers have horrid magic defense, and I, and hopefully you, plan to expliot that. Key: Item: Cost: Information about Helm: Helm of Neitznot (What I use): 55,000 : High stats, and has no minus attack bonuses. You should be able to never take this off Verac's Helm: 1,700,000 : A substitute that could be used for its prayer bonus and its high defense stats, but lower magic and ranged attack. Would be best to be taken off during fight against Ahrim. Rune Full Helmet: : 30k : Probably a last resort of sorts, but it could be used in the same way as verac's helm, just a bit weaker. Cape: God Cape (What I use) : Free : +10 magic bonus is quite useful on hitting your targets. 99 Skill/Quest cape (I have a quest cape :P) : Free : Good defensive stats, isn't a bad back-up. Obsidian/Legends cape : 200,000 / 750 : Try not to go any lower than these capes, don't help defensive wise as much as 99 Skill/Quest cape, and they don't give a magic bonus like the god capes. Amulet: Stole (What I use) : 175,000 : +10 prayor bonus can always help. Amulet of Fury (I use stole, not particularly interested in losing a fury) : 3,000,000 : Argueably best amulet in the game, and helps with everything. Amulet of Magic: : 500 : The cheape fury, helps with magic, but that's about it. Amunition: Free to your selection, recommended mithril+ Right-Hand: Slayer Staff: 21,000 : Only thing you should use if following this guide Chest: Verac's Brassard (What I use): 1,000,000 : Useful due to it not affecting your range, while giving strong defensive bonuses and using prayor bonuses as well. Ahrim's Robetop: 400,000 : Magic bonuses with pretty good defensive bonuses, I have complete this guide using this before. Rune Platebody: 45,000 : More of a last resort, but still effective with it's defensive status. Left-Hand Mage's Book(What I use) : 3,000,000 : +15 magic attack and defense bonus. Worth every penny Unholy Book : Free : All attack bonuses covered, offensive covered. Obsidian Shield: : 230,000 : I would use this instead of granite, rune, or dragon shield, and rune defender. Reasonably affordable, and it effective with strength and defensive bonuses. Legs: Verac's Plateskirt (What I use): 450,000 : Prayor bonuse and defensive bonus, this has you covered. Ahrim's Robeskirt: 500,000 : Managable with magic and defensive bonuses. Rune Platelegs: 40,000 : Against, last resort, but useful non-the-less. For the Gloves, Boots, and Ring.... Recipe for disaster gloves Mystic boots/Amored boots Any ring. Inventory: Please try to follow this exactly 150 death runes (for slayer dart) 600 minds runes (for slayer dart) 1 prayor potion (4) (in case you have dhorak or karil in your tunnel) About 5 house tele-tabs or an ectophial (quit teleport out) Spade (A biggy) Best wearable d'hide top and bottom (for Ahrim) Bow (for Ahrim) Dragon dagger (p++) (used against Ahrim and in the tunnels) 19 food (Monkfish or better, you can use lobsters if experienced and confident, highly) How to do it: Well, you finally made it to barrows, wear through the underground tunnel then boat, or through the murky swamp. Now what? Once entrange I plan my route on meeting dhorak first, in the northeastern grave. Simpiliy land inside the grave, search the tomb, then get ready with your protection prayor and slayer dart, use slayer dart for the first five brothers. Sadly life isn't easy here, and once you kill one, inside the barrows you'll be haunted. You'll see the face of one of the slain brothers (on high detail) and lose about 9 prayor points. Don't worry though, you don't need them too much. After dhorak, run, or walk, to the southern-most grave, and face karil with your anti-ranged prayer. Walk on over the Guthan, the south-eastern grave, and fight him with the prayor you have left (if any). Once you run out of prayor, your armor will protect you, and just be ready to eat. Move directly west, to the south-western grave of Torag. Use the same stradegy as Guthan. Move up south, and go head-to-head with Verac. Same stradegy as Guthan and Torag, but be weary, this is wear about 1-6 pieces of food may be eaten! Lastly, equip your dragon dagger and your d'hide and dig into the center grave of Ahrim. His fire attack can only hit up to 20, and he uses weakening spells. Don't worry, as soon as your fourth special is released, switch over to your bow and fire away. Now, chances are you had one tomb that said "There's a hidden tunnel here, want to see further?" or something of the sort. Simply click "no" and kill the rest of the brothers. After you kill 5 of the 6 brothers (All but the one with the hidden tunnel) go into the tunnel. Sadly, since I have no pic availability, I can't really help you here. I can say that if you see your brother in the tunnel, or the barrows brother that was "in" the grave that you found the tunnel, don't run from pinky, attack him here! Once you run into the locked door, try and solve the puzzle! The answers are: square, highest block, and arrow pointing to circle. Doesn't make sense now, But will in good time. Then just loot the chest and leave. If you didn't find the brother in the tunnel, when you open the chest he will atack you. Happy Hunting! |

Wish I would have found this while I was still mem. But in your guide you said that obby cape doesn't do as much for def as skill/quest cape, but if your skillcape isn't trimmed, they both give the same stats - +9 for all except attack and str and prayer. |
