He was alone again. He had been so used to being surrounded by friends, and loved ones, that he had nearly forgotten his past. The enveloping darkness, the hatred he left for the people who used to be his friends...The loneliness. He didnt want to go back to that dark time, where he relied on nobody but himself, and yet...As each of his friends left speerately, first Lucy, kairi, and then even Namine, he could feel his misery setting in, and the cold arms of solitude embracing him with its icy grip. " Yeah....Go on Namine....you...do that". His head hung low, he grimaced, trying to hold back the tears, and trying to maintain the anger that was welling up inside him. However, he wasnt alone was he? Right beside of him stood some sort of Xemnas replika, taunting him, treating him like a baby. Only a year ago had he and Sora destroyed this ones core body, and saved the universe from the nobody invasion, had he not grown stronger since? Was he still the same little kid he was back on the island? no..he couldnt be, he was stronger, he was fearless, his actions over the recent days, and his fight with Vanitas only proved this. No way was he going to let some copy of nothingness talk down to him "Hell no!". His fist swung out, rage burning in his eyes, his teeth grit, and near foaming like a mad dog, and yet nothing. He felt no release, no pleasure in causing pain to such a villain, fore before he could land a single hit, the other Xemnas had vanished into nothingness, probably returning back to his master. He needed to let loose this stifling rage that was building up inside of him, but what he really needed to do, was find his friend " *Gasp* Lucy!" He sprinted off as fast as his legs would take him, sprinting past broken walls, and smashed windows, past innumerable buildings, and familys hoping only to rebuild after the devastation that the unversed had caused unto them. Watching this pain spread through them cut him like a knife, he wanted nothing more than to help them in some way, yet he had more pressing issues at hand right now. He needed to find Lucia, he had lost it with her, and he couldn't dare let her leave like this, he just wanted to find her, and apologise to her." Dammit! this inst working" He leapt up onto a rooftop, and sprinted off towards the general direction she should be in. Suddenly as he bound from rooftop to rooftop, tiles falling off and smashing down onto the cold hard floor, he heard a scream, it came from a voice he knew all too well. " Lucia!" There she was.Slumped down on the floor, the boy that had sprinted off behind of her draped across her like a blanket, at least she wasn't alone while the nobodies interrupted. He slowly walked in front of her, his smile weak, his eyes puffy from repeatedly stopping himself crying. His mouth opened slightly, only a quiver, yet he found himself unable to speak, anything he could have said now would only have made things worse. Instead he slowly got down onto his knees, and locked with Lucia, holding her tightly and close to his chest. Softly whispering in her ear " im sorry....but please dont be sad." |

You won't get rid of me that easy. This response was haunting, to say the least. Her father had said this to her whenever she attempted to push anyone away (she felt her pain would just be a burden on others, so she suffered alone, even as a younger child), and her own younger brother had adopted her father's stubbornness. Lucia, however, was equally as stubborn. Especially now. Why could he leave her to grieve on her own? It wasn't like he'd be able to understand, anyway. But of course, that was against his beliefs. It was against her own, to see another human suffer, so she could understand what he meant. But what he seemed to fail to see was that she didn't want interference (consciously). This wasn't the sort of thing a few soothing words could heal. No. It would be surprising if she lived to see the next year, let alone next month. Tomorrow. She was taking her life minutes at a time. Seconds. Because with the weight that she bore on her shoulders, threatening to tear her down, she could only think about every second and whether that second would be the one to kill her. She wouldn't be surprised if she just fell asleep one night and never woke up again because her own body had lost the will to live. A quiet death was appealing. She wanted to shut him out. She didn't want to hear his worthless advice. She'd heard it time and time again, from people she actually knew and loved. No matter who it came from, it did nothing for her. No revelation, no epiphany. Nothing. Just empty promises. Smile? All girls look prettier when they smile. "There's- no-thing to sm-ile f-for." Lucia could barely manage to get those words out. She couldn't even manage to put half the vehemence she wanted to go with those words. Her voice was choked up and choppy due the the sobs that racked her small frame. There's nothing to live for, so what makes him think that I'd smile? He had no idea. So much so, that she could manage a speck of pity for him. Most would say she pitied herself. This wasn't the case. She loathed who she was. And sometimes, this was the only way to keep her sanity: to weep bitterly until she was run dry. It kept her going, if her emotions were temporarily put at bay. It allowed more time to focus on her fighting ability. She hurt, yes. Be she didn't feel the things that had happened to her were unfair or undeserved. She truly believed that she was paying a price. It was a painful price, but she was going to pay it. There is no pity for the criminal. She could hear her name being called, but it felt far to her. Everything seemed far away right now. She was ensnared by what was, what happened. Unreachable. At least, until she found herself in a familiar embrace. It was almost more painful this way. Part of her would rather have him yelling at her for what she had done and how unjust it was. Because it was truly rude on her part. It wasn't even his fault for being mad or upset in the first place; it was hers, for letting her Negative Force go unbridled. It was still running rampant from her. But to have him hold her, will her to not hurt... even though those horrible things were flowing from her... She couldn't fathom this. Every time she thought she was starting to understand Riku he proved her wrong. She tried to control her sobs, to be able to speak. "D-don't b-be..." She murmured, gasping for the air that her crying seemed to deny. "I-I'm... R-Riku I...." Both tawny eyes looked up at him. Not one, but two. Her bangs had shifted and revealed her blind eye. The girl reached up hesitantly. Soft fingertips brushed his cheek where she had hit him, light and gentle as the wings of a moth. Doing this seemed to make her cry harder. She couldn't even get her apology out. All she could do was simply let him hold her, his warmth comforting her, until this hopelessness abated. Edited by Jet, Apr 20 2012, 01:43 AM.

He frowned a little bit. She was stubborn, even more so than the Wind Prince himself. She seemed so set on sitting there, alone, even though there were probably dozens of people that were worried about her. Her family? Her friends? What about that silver-haired boy that she seemed to be incredibly close to? Feng knew that she had to have someone in her life who cared about her enough. If she didn't... well, that's what he'd be to her if it came down to it. For some reason, he felt sad for this poor girl. She was still walking alone, but she wasn't just alone... she was pushing everyone away. It's like she had slowly come to accept that the darkness would come for her, and take her. It would drag her down to the deepest darkest part of its reach, and it sure wouldn't let go at any point in time. Unless she accepted her own humanity, accepted the fact that there were people who would worry, she would be left alone forever, and soon enough, no one would be able to reach her. Feng knew this from deadly experience. He'd refused to reach out when his sister died, and he'd almost been pulled underwater and drowned. If it weren't for Scirocco, he wouldn't be alive to pass on his knowledge of what he'd felt when he was younger. "If it's any condolence, some people smile even when nothing happy is going on," he replied softly, the playful grin gone from his face. "Those people are the ones who cope using their own strength, and try to stand on their own two feet. If you run from your problems, that's no solution. Running only makes the darkness run faster and try to outrun you. Don't run from something that scares you." Another wide grin spread across his face as he remembered what his sister had once told him. "Stand proud, stand tall, and face it with a smile." He paused. "I'm not saying you're not strong as you are, but your way of coping is all wrong. You've found a temporary solution. You're going to need one that's more permanent if you ever want to stop yourself from hurting." He almost felt bad for lecturing her, but the silver-haired boy reached her quickly, wrapping his arms around her tiny frame. She seemed to reach out to him. It was that simple gesture that made Feng stand up. He turned away and prepared to leave. He'd failed again; he couldn't even make a sad girl turn her frown into a smile. To him, this meant that he was just a boy with "special powers." Nothing more, nothing less. It seemed to him that in all of the worlds he'd been traveling through for the past few months have been full of darkness. He'd met people who'd cheered him up and people who had brought him down. But this duo, a fiery girl and a silver-haired boy, had made him remember things that he wished he'd never seen... at least, not since they happened. "Goodbye, baby brother... Don't forget to keep smiling." He mouthed the words as he remembered them, muttering to himself, "Don't forget to keep smiling." Those words were a lesson that he could never forget. Not again. |

As he held Lucia, he could only think of what he had done, his mind replaying his enraged outburst to her over and over. He felt horrible, Lucia, one of the most vulnerable people he had ever met, and he lost it, he just lost it with her. He felt like a bastard. Yet as he held her close, pressing her form tight against his chest, the soft brush of her hand came upon his cheek, and the slow shallow sobs of Lucia became only more pressing in his mind. He pulled back a little, wanting to talk to her, but he was held back from speech, by a sight he ha never seen before. Her eye, which she always hid through some means or another, was now clearly visible, the milky orb staring back up at him, crying just as hard as its twin. "Lucia....you deserve to be happy. Everything thats happened to you, and everything bad since I met you....it shouldnt have happened. You dont deserve this Lucia, I shouldn't be making you cry". He sighe and turned away from her for a second, his face turning tomato red from embarresment. He was never good with dealing with other peoples emotional problems, but he would need to do his best to help her get through this. " Lucia...I dont know whats gonna happen...But everythings going to be fine, trust me". He wasnt sure what he was doing there. Lucia was just some girl he had found the other day, and yet here he was trying to console her, and stop her crying. His eyes glanced over to the boy standing besides Lucia. He must have been helping her all this time, and he knew her even less than Riku did. He was clearly very noble whoever he was, but why would he do this? Riku decided to trsut him, he had stopped Lucia from getting herself hurt, that was more than enough to deign some level of trust. "My name's Riku, thanks for helping her.." He gave a weak smile to the boy, before returning to holding Lucy. |

She couldn't believe Riku. It was... touching, that he felt she didn't deserve this pain. But he didn't understand. Did he? This pain was the price she paid for being her. For breaking a sacred promise. Wasn't that why she was still here? Was the pain of existing when everything else you lived for now belonged to the realm of darkness, the realm of the dead, not a suitable punishment? But he was ignorant of this. And she could not reprimand him. His presence was comforting; this she couldn't deny. He'd become something familiar to her, something she associated with... good. Because he was the opposite of the storm within her. The calm, the steady. Maybe even if he was only the eye of the storm, he was enough to calm her. She wasn't sure how long, but her sobs had faded, leaving only a gasp for air here and there. She allowed him to hold her as he did. His embrace was safe to Lucia. She rested her head against him, until the choked up feeling in her throat ceased. Drained. But not the usual kind of drained. Most of the time, after a breakdown like this, she would have the trepidation that her cup would fill once again to overflow more than the time before. Each time, she felt she was drowning. But this time was different. She wasn't worried over when the next collapse of her delicate state of mind would be. Rather, she felt it couldn't get worse from here. If she was at rock bottom, wasn't the only way to move was up? Not that this would be the last time she'd break, she knew there were plenty of times to come. But this time, she had something she didn't have before. Someone who would hold her. She couldn't pay him back for this kindness; there was simply no way. But she could try. The only thing that could shake her delicate calm was the fact her blind eye was visible. That in itself, that eye, showed how she was defective. A defective human being. She quickly bowed her head, her fiery bangs falling into their usual place over the eye, hiding it from sight once more. "They all stare." She murmured quietly, refusing to meet his gaze. "I.... I don't know why you do this for me. But don't think for a moment that... that I'm not grateful. I can't repay you for it." Her good, tawny eye fixed on him, sincere. Her head was clear, for now, and she'd say what she could until she was pulled back down in the madness and turmoil within. The negative air that had filled the square had diminished, tucked safely back into Lucia's fragile heart. Safe from hurting anyone but herself. Trust me. For a moment, she was silent. Trust was something she struggled with greatly, considering she couldn't trust her own self. But maybe that was what she needed: to have something, someone to trust, because she couldn't rely on her own self. At least until she could glue the pieces of herself back together, she needed something that was steady and unchanging. A trust she wouldn't doubt. Hadn't he earned it? He chose to put up with her, even after she had thrown a slap his way. He was willingly staying beside her, offering his hand to her. Shouldn't she take his hand? Even the strange boy had told her that her way of coping was wrong. It terrified her that he could see right into her. "...I will." She whispered, pulling away from him. The other boy had turned away. She couldn't help but feel that was her fault. Had her stubborn attitude driven him away? That bothered her. A lot. Don't forget to keep smiling. She feared he would leave, and she didn't want him to. Not yet. "Wait. What's your name?" She asked. He had captured her curiosity. He had seemed so determined to bring her out of herself, to smile. Why? Why was it so important to him? This was another thing her mind couldn't grasp. Upon hearing his name, she would say, "...If it concerns you so, I could try.... I don't think I'll be any good at it, but... I guess this is a start." And with that, the girl placed two of her spindly fingers on her cheeks, one each, and pulled gently upward, forcing her lips to smile. She couldn't make them do it on their own. |

The duo had both called back to him, asking his name. Feng turned back, eyes somewhat wide with surprise. His mouth was set in a thin line, the ends slightly curled downwards in a semi-frown. He pulled a smile onto his face, not wanting to seem like a hypocrite to either of them. It was clear, just by the way that the boy, Riku, held her, they were close. He frowned a little; he'd never been that close to anyone that wasn't family. And it was clear to him that they shared no blood whatsoever. Easily making his face light back up, he replied to the two of them, "My name is Feng Storm. It's nice to meet you, Riku, Lucia. You shouldn't thank me. I was just doing what I saw was the right choice in that situation." He wasn't trying to sound cold, but he supposed that was how the words must've seemed to the two strangers. And while Lucia hadn't given Feng her name, Riku had said it while he was attempting to comfort her. He did what Feng could only dream of doing. The teen sighed a little, running a hand through his long, dark hair, finally settling on fixing the ribbon that tied his hair behind his head. But he stopped as Lucia used her fingers to push her lips into a small smile. Feng was right. She looked much prettier when she smiled. He smiled back at her, shifting the bag around his waist. He moved back towards her, dropping down on one knee in front of Lucia's smaller figure. He reached out, patting her head gently, his smile small, but true. "I knew you'd look pretty with a smile on that face of yours," he muttered. With a small grunt, Feng heaved himself back to his feet. He shifted Storm Chaser on his belt, somewhat uncomfortable with the situation. He felt as if he was intruding on a personal moment between Riku and Lucia. He was ready to leave. That's when Feng remembered what he'd heard as he had continued throughout the worlds. He turned to face the silver-haired boy, and asked, "Sorry to ask, but on my travels, I've been hearing whispers of a war coming. What can you," he paused, "either of you, tell me about this? All I know is that it's King Mickey's Kingdom fighting two other forces, ones that when I asked, everyone clammed up." His silver eyes danced with a determined fire, usually kindled only by the prospect of a good fight. "Please, tell me what you know. If I'm going to fight, I need to know what I'm fighting for." Perhaps he was being to demanding. But if war was coming, Feng wouldn't be the one to sit it out and watch on the sidelines. He needed to know all he could before making any decisions. |

The air around of him fell silent, the darkness that emanated from Lucy's shattered heart was finally leaving. He knew it would only be for a little while, she wouldn't be truly healed for a long long time, yet he was confidant he would do his part to heal her broken heart. As the dark mood left the atmosphere, he could feel himself grinning uncontrollably, his deep blue eyes shimmering, and watering a little from the sudden change of everyone's emotions." I don't expect you to repay me Lucia, just seeing you happy is more than enough for me" "Its nice to meet you too Feng, I want to say, thank you. You really helped Lucia, I dont know what might have happened if someone hadnt been here with her...." He sighed, and looked back at Lucia, he was becoming ever more worried about her, her fragility was her greatest weakness, eventually she would need to get over her past, but it was clear today was not the day. Feng then began to sweet talk Lucia a little, it was funny to watch a little "haha dont strain yourself Lucia, that smiles a little too much" "hmm?" Feng suddenly began talking about the war, about the kingdom of disney, and the devils that they fought. " Jeez feng you dont wanna know...It's a hole mess..". He sighed heavily, and laid a hand on fengs shoulder, his blue eyes staring intensely at Feng, he needed to show complete sincerity when he spoke. " When a person loses to the darkness, their soul escapes the body, and takes the for of a heartless, a being made of pure darkness that wants nothing more than to cause death and destruction. When a heartless is formed, the body transforms itself into a deformed monstrosity called a nobody, they are devoid of all emotion no matter how life like they may seem. Both of these factions are attempting to attain something called kingdom hearts, its....its the very heart of the universe, the physical form of everything that is,was and ever will be. The power over all to whoever obtains it. The heartless seek power, whereas the nobodies only want everyone else to be nobodies. My duty, and the duty of every other human is to stop them....no matter what". |

"Feng." She repeated softly. Everyone seemed to have unusual names here; or at least, to her they were very unusual names. And without warning he was right in front of her, hand resting on her head. Being that he was still new to her, she shrank back against Riku ever so slightly; being social, or even friendly was not exactly her protege. It never had been. "Neh. If you say so." Pretty had never been an adjective used to describe Lucia. She didn't quite believe that she fit the requirements for that. Beauty was just something society made to make someone feel better about themselves. What really mattered what was in the heart. And a heart full of pain was far from pretty. I don't expect you to repay me Lucia, just seeing you happy is more than enough for me. Why? Wasn't it natural to give and then want something in return? Lucia had only met him- what, a few hours ago? She only met him this morning. Up until now, she wouldn't exactly have considered him a friend. But now... he really did just want her happiness. She couldn't understand why that was important to him. But at least she could really call him a friend. An unexpected friend, but none the less someone she could trust. At his comment about her smile, she stuck her tongue out at him. "Haha, very funny." At Feng's mention of the war, she felt her heart wrench violently in her chest. Her single orb flitted away from the two. Will. Home. Heartless. Feng was joining the war too. More to destroy the heartless the merrier. When she felt she wouldn't get pulled under, she glanced back at Riku, who was thanking Feng for trying to help her. "I can thank Feng, you know. You don't have to speak for me. And if I had really wanted to do it, I would've done it regardless if someone was there or not." Lucia spoke gently, not meaning offense to either but making her point clear enough. "But... I have promises. Promises I intend to keep." She glanced at Riku. Lucia didn't want him to doubt that she'd be true to her word. The girl stayed silent during Riku's explanation of the Nobodies and Heartless. The Nobodies she knew about, but the Heartless... well, she knew what they were capable of. Just not exactly what they were. She traced a crack in a paving stone as he spoke, trying to battle off anymore dark emotions that could shatter her delicate state of semi-calmness. She couldn't let this... this pain ruin her anymore. If she did, she would be immobilized by it the second she encountered a Heartless. She couldn't let that happen. But as he explained, a small feeling of dread grasped her. Because that's when the explanation clicked. Will and everyone she loved could be Heartless. Will's heart being taken from his chest burned in her mind. Her rushing up to him, but by the time she got there, he was just wisps of black smoke. No.... God no.... Her tracing finger had stopped abruptly, and she seemed frozen. No, she wasn't going to break. Not again. She couldn't cause anymore trouble now. But it would nag away at her; she knew that. If she had a moment alone with Riku, maybe she could ask him. If she could get the question to form on her lips. Part of her didn't want to know the answer. She was pretty sure what the answer was, but she refused to believe it. It would be better if her loved ones were dead and untouched by the darkness of this life. If they were Heartless... Then what was she really fighting for, or rather, against? She couldn't destroy them! But something else rubbed her wrong. The description of the nobodies. Wasn't Namine a nobody, the pale girl that was no longer here? She wondered where she and the other girl, Kairi, had went. She let that seem like the thing that bothered her, because she could not hide her shaken expression. Better they think it was something else for now. "But... what about Namine? She isn't a monstrosity." |

Feng nodded in understanding. So the Heartless were dark creatures that stole other people's hearts. They took hearts, and forced the body and the soul to split. Which also created Nobodies. This, however, confused Feng. If the Heartless couldn't survive without the Nobodies and the Nobodies couldn't survive without the Heartless, why were they fighting against each other? He sat down on the ground a few feet away from Lucia and Riku, crossing his arms as he retreated into his thoughts. Nobodies. They looked human, because they were made from the bodies of the humans that had no heart and no soul. Heartless. They could steal the hearts of living people and turn them into Nobodies. He frowned a little. They would be a tough crowd to beat. Riku claimed that his duty, as well as the duty of every human, was to stop them. Feng's silver eyes went downwards. He thought through this in the tiniest recess of his mind; to fight or not to fight? After all, each one of those races were such pitiful creatures. Even humans. Then there was Kingdom Hearts. Just the words intrigued Feng. According to Riku, it was the most powerful object in the entire universe. It could give power and take it away. There was such a thing as too much power. Should any of the sides obtain it, that would be the very definition of "overpowering." Feng suddenly jolted out of his thoughts. That must've been the heart-shaped moon he'd heard stories about as a child. If that was true... then the sides without the Kingdom Hearts' power in their hands would be doomed before they could even set foot on the battlefield. It was then that he made his decision. He would fight... but not for power. For the protection of the world he'd come to know, and all worlds inbetween. But thinking wouldn't do anything. The war would come, between the Kingdom he was in at that very moment, the creatures called the Heartless, and the mysterious organization called the Nobodies. Yet... that blonde girl, Namine, was a Nobody? She had fought alongside Riku and Lucia. Speaking of the blonde girl, she wasn't there anymore, and neither was the other girl with brown hair. He looked around for them, biting his lip a little. Did anything bad happen to them? "Wait, wait... hold on for a second. Those other two girls... Namine was one of them.. where did they go?" he asked frantically. Clearly, he'd missed something. "Are they still up there?" |

Riku groaned as he finished his explanation of the heartless and the nobodies, the ugly ugly truth of what was going on in this world and all worlds out there, the fact that the darkness of mans heart was leading to their own destruction and demise. It always made him feel just a little sick even to think of the horrors that he himself played a part in creating....No he couldn't think like that, the old Riku was gone, his redemption would come by defending this universe, and all those within. A weak smile trickled onto his face as he stared at the boy and girl infront of him. They didnt realise it but they would both surely play a part in the war in days to come, they would fight countless nobodies and heartless, they faced unparraleled risk, but....Something deep inside told him that no matter what happened they would be alright. Lucia stared over at him, she seemed to convey her true emotions, pure and light. Deep down thats all Lucy ever had been, a good and kind person, but the darkness which stole her world and her family tainted her, and closed her off to the outside world." Lucia, im going to make sure you keep your promises, because I promise to remain by your side." Feng asked about their recent companions, the "sisters" Namine and Kairi, he wasnt sure what exactly to tell him. "Namine and Kairi are special. They are beings of pure light, and have such unusual properties that people are currently exploiting them. The organization of nobodys that are trying to obtain kingdom hearts are using both of them like tools.they....they took them feng, and there was nothing I could do about it". He grit his teeth, fists clenched, holding back the tears and emotion that were bubbling up within him, he needed to be strong, if only for now. "no...god no..." He overheard Lucia suddenly whimper a little, the sadness ringing out in her voice. Shhe was thinking of her home, of the pewople she had lost. She was thinking of the heartless. She had suffeered anough, it was time she knew of something that he wasn't sure if she could handle. " Hey Lucy. We can save him.We can bring back your family, and your world". He groaned and rubbed the back of his head, ruffling up the silvery locks." When someone loses to the darkness, they lose their heart to the heartless, and their bodies to the nobodies. If a single persons heartless and nobody are defeated, then the original person can find their wway back to the light...they can be reborn". He had been worried of sharing this with her, of the near infinite heartless and nobodies only one belonged to her deceased love, the odds of killing both were astronomical. He didn't want this to become an obsession but...he couldnt let her lose hope either. "Allright you two, I've told you about the war, and about the enemies to all mankind.I will be fighting them, ill be doing my bit to save the universe, but I need help.If you dont want to fight, ill understand, but if you do, then ill make you stronger, and ill make sure that you're ready for what you're gonna face". He reached his hand into the centre of their small group, and smirked at them both. "If you want to leave, then leave now, if not....then lets do this". |

"I wouldn't say that you could bring back her world." Lucia had only just noticed the partial absence of her second consciousness that lived within her mind when Maika -her usually less than pleasant summon-was stand beside her. She was quite beautiful, though her attire was more than a bit outlandish, even for Lucia. The white haired summon rested a hand on Lucia's head, absent mindedly stroking her fiery locks before holding out another hand to both Feng and Riku. "Maika." "I've tried going back, to see how bad things had gotten. Summons can go practically anywhere. I've even had a small glimpse at the Realm of Darkness once, though summons don't like that place too much. The Realm of Light is our dwelling place. But anyways, I tried. Perfect mental image of where I wanted to be in her world, the name of the world, memories related to that world in the back of my mind, everything required for me to transport. Nothing happened." Her golden gaze flitted upward from her hair, taking the two boys in. Older than Lucia. Hmm. Maybe Maika would have to keep a closer eye on Lucia. "And when nothing happens, it's either that you're delusional and the world never existed in the first place.... or it ceases to exist." Lucia remained silent and still. Maika was right. She'd seen her attempt it several times, because those times were the ones where Maika wanted to bring her along in case the Heartless didn't take everyone. And nothing happened. It seemed hopeless that anything she had lost could be recovered. How could she bring back the ones she loved, if their hearts belonged to the darkness? The darkness terrified her. She was a child staying close to her flames to distance herself from the monsters lurking in the darkness beyond the reach of the firelight. If her grandparents, her brother belonged to that... How could she possibly face that fear? Her whole life was driven by fear. The fear of being alone, of death, of what her heart was turning into, of the unknown. Just one big cycle. It was almost crucial to the existence of the Lucia sitting with her knees tucked into her chest right there, right then. She wouldn't be Lucia without that fear. But who else could she really be? "But what if there was no Nobody produced? I know a bit about the Heartless and Nobodies -I'm freaking ancient, I've been around for thousands of years-, and I do recall you had to have a strong heart to be able to produce a Nobody. If not, you merely lost yourself entirely to darkness." And there was the other problem. Maika. She seemed to bring bad news left and right, but Lucia knew she would be that much more hopeless if Maika hadn't taught her to put on her big girl pants while she fought and kick some ass. So the girl, again, stayed silent, speaking only to her thoughts. Then it's hopeless. There isn't a way to save Will.... I really have failed him. If I managed to fail him, who else could I fail? Riku? Maika? ...Feng? I don't want to fail... I've failed enough. But no matter how hard I try... I can't change the result. It's always the same.... But it can't end like this... I don't want it to end like this! "Alright you two, I've told you about the war, and about the enemies to all mankind. I will be fighting them, I'll be doing my bit to save the universe, but I need help. If you dont want to fight, I'll understand, but if you do, then ill make you stronger, and ill make sure that you're ready for what you're gonna face. If you want to leave, then leave now, if not.... then let's do this." As he spoke, Lucia's eyes rose to stare intently at Riku's face, and then to Feng. Doubt ate away at her. She'd only known Riku for maybe a day or so (what a hell of a day this was), and Feng for a few minutes really. Could she trust them truly? With Riku, it was easier to say yes. She could see that he had a good heart, even if he was a bit ignorant and arrogant at times (considering he didn't even answer her question about Namine). But he reminded her so much of William. He was like an older version of him. Feng... well, he'd shown great concern at her tears. But that didn't really mean anything, did it? But he also didn't know what was going on with the war until Riku explained... And could she do it? Lucia's resolve had weakened with the prospect of her beloved little brother being a Heartless. She couldn't hurt him for anything. She'd lay her own life down before she lifted a finger against him, Heartless or not! He was too precious to her. And what about the others? Technically, weren't they people in the past as well? Would this war mark her forever as a murderer? No. She shook her head at herself as if to dispel those doubtful thoughts. Those people wouldn't want to be hurting anyone. As Heartless, they're harming everyone and everything. They wouldn't want that at all.... would they? Lucia thought. Get a grip on yourself. There's a lot at stake here. If you fail... well, then you fail. But this is a chance to finally make things right. Don't lose it! Lucia's delicate, spindly hand flashed out suddenly, landing as lightly as a leaf upon Riku's. "I think you knew I'd be on board from the start. I may not be as strong as you in strength, but I certainly know things you don't. We can teach each other, I suppose.... neh? I'm all for this. For my family, for my friends, for my world. If I go down I'm going down swinging!" There was something new to her. A stronger fire burning, clearly seen in her working eye. Not a fire of hatred... but of determination. The corners of Maika's mouth lifted. So she's still got some fire in there. I guess there's hope yet. The summon thought to herself before adding her own hand to the center of the circle. "Unfortunately, I'm not allowed to teach you guys -literally the guys- anything as far as fire goes. Part of my pact with Lucia. But I'll be as helpful as possible." Maika smirked, and one of Lucia's rare smiles formed on her pale lips. "Let's kick some ass." Edited by Jet, May 30 2012, 12:55 PM.

"Huh. So... I guess Kairi and Namine are super special then, aren't they?" Feng grinned again, although he knew that it was completely inappropriate in this time, during a serious conversation. "Not a lot of people have hearts of pure light. In fact, I suppose those two are the first that I've ever met. But Riku..." His grin slid right off of his face. "You can't say that you weren't able to do anything. Honestly... did Kairi and Namine leave of their own free will? Or were they taken? 'Cause I can tell you right now, if they were taken, I know that you'd be up there fighting tooth and nail against whoever even attempted to kidnap them. You wouldn't be down here." For what Feng lacked in strength, he made up for in brains. He knew that he was right. That was when he was introduced to the fire using summon, Maika. She seemed... pleasant. Well... as pleasant as a summon could honestly be. Scirocco really wasn't much better, if Feng wanted to be completely honest. Aloof, a little rude, but great partners and amazing friends. Loyal, strong, and reliable. That was what Maika seemed to be, too. But honestly, she didn't seem to be making Lucia feel much better. In fact, she was bringing bad news. Didn't summons ever have anything positive to say? He groaned quietly. It'd be a smart move on Maika's part to just zip her lips. Lucia seemed to be retreating into herself. She was completely still. She hadn't moved since Maika had started to speak. Her usual fire was gone. Now, Feng would admit that he didn't know her at all, but he knew her well enough. She was suffering. He looked up to the white-haired summon in order to tell her off, tell her to stop making Lucia hurt. Before he could, he was interrupted by the entrance of someone he knew all too well. In a burst of black feathers, Scirocco appeared. "Roc, I thought you were going to rest," Feng chided mockingly. "You're always telling me to take it easy, slow down, and relax once in a while. You just flew through dimensions, Roc. You, you fat chicken, are a hypocrite." He chuckled a little as he turned back to Lucia and Riku, turning away from his summon. "Guys, this is Scirocco. He's my best friend and summon." Scirocco bowed to the two of them, soon after standing up straight. "So what's up, Roc?" he asked, finally getting somewhat serious. For Scirocco to appear with how tired he was, it had to be important. Seemingly ignoring Feng, Scirocco's piercing gaze landed on the fiery summon. "Maika." Feng's eyes widened; his summon... knew Lucia's summon? "Are you absolutely sure that Andrid was... completely destroyed?" Scirocco knew the answer to this, and his eyes softened as he gazed at the red-haired girl. "So it's true... this girl is the only survivor...?" breathed the eagle. His voice was never that soft. He was always sarcastic or sensible, never sympathetic. "I am so sorry for your loss." The eagle bowed deeply again to Lucia as she continued to be silent and still. "I knew of Andrid, it was a beautiful world. You were born there, it's clear from your face. I met Maika there," explained Scirocco. He knelt in front of her and smiled slightly. Feng was silent during this exchange. He watched Lucia closely, in fear that she would lash out. He wasn't concerned for Scirocco, not at all. Perhaps Riku's comment sparked something within Lucia, triggering memories that she would rather not have relived. The Wind Prince knew this fear. It was a simple fear of remembering. He feared that he would regress into his unhappy childhood and become like he had been once more. Angry, alone, and overall, unhappy. Lucia was feeling the same way, living in fear of her past. Or was it a fear of the present that kept her grounded? Feng wondered. He frowned a little. If her entire world was destroyed, was it the darkness that was at fault? If that was the case, then was Lucia living in fear that everyone she knew... was a Heartless? Feng shivered at the thought. If any of his little brothers or sisters were Heartless, he wasn't sure what he'd do. For all he knew, they were. But he quickly shook those thoughts out of his head. He didn't know for sure. Not allowing himself to wallow in self-pity, he sat on the grass next to Lucia. "Lucia, I know you just met me... and you probably don't trust me yet. I get it. I'm not asking for you to let me in and tell me everything. Just... don't be afraid to talk if you're scared. It helps to talk to someone, believe me." He smiled widely. "Don't worry about what she says," he gestured to Maika. "Honestly, tell me this... do you believe in second chances? 'Cause I do. I was raised to believe that everyone gets a second life, which means that you keep living no matter what. It's just a different life. So who knows? All of your friends, all your family? You'll see them sooner or later." He grinned wider as he reached over and gently patted her head. But in his mind, he wondered about the Heartless. If he died in this war, he would definitely become a Heartless, but was his "heart" strong enough for him to become a Nobody? He silently hoped not. He didn't want his other self to be brainwashed and used against his new friends. As for a Heartless, he had fought them before. He just didn't know that they were - or had been - people, once upon a time. He was suddenly overwhelmed with guilt. He had killed people. His darker skin seemed to pale a little as these thoughts rose to the front of his mind. Even though the Heartless were people that had already died, he still felt horrible. They were still people, no matter how he looked at it. Feng was sure that someone would notice his pale skin. He closed his eyes, pushing those horrid thoughts to the back of his brain, banishing them to a cold, dark corner. He couldn't feel remorse for shadows that stole what makes a person human. He just couldn't. But it wasn't like he could help it. His hand had slipped from Lucia's head to her shoulder. As color returned to his skin, he realized that he'd been shaking from those thoughts. He frowned. It's... it's just... they're just shadows... not people. Riku saved his sanity. As he defeated Heartless and Nobodies, he was growing closer and closer to giving someone a second chance. He sighed in relief, his hand slipping from Lucia's shoulder as he fell back onto the grass. He stared up at the sky, reaching over to cover his eyes. He continued to frown, though, his usual grin missing from his face. Fighting... meant second chances. But it also meant that Riku and Lucia... there was a chance of them... Shaking those thoughts from his mind, he looked up to the silver-haired boy. "Riku... you're stupid. You really thought that I asked you about the war, and then I'd just walk away from it like that after hearing about Heartless and Nobodies? Ha, yeah right! I'm fighting. I want to make sure that I'll be strong enough... to protect everyone." His grey eyes darted to the smaller girl. Her attitude had completely changed from being quiet and solemn to determined and, no pun intended, on fire. He smiled a little. She was strong, much stronger than she'd given herself credit for. Feng would fight alongside her... if only to bring another smile to her face. |

"So, you two use summon spirits?" He said as their small group nearly doubled in size, as each of his companions brought out a sentient beast. It was rare to find summon spirits that would actually talk to their owners, much less ones that seemed to aide their owners through choice. He thought for a moment of his summon spirit, the darksider. It was a giant heartless, devoid of all conscious thought, and unable to do anything except for destroy and follow commands. It was nothing compared to the two spirits that stood before him. He turned towards feng, the boy seemed to know what he was talking about, somehow he knew that those two left of their own volition, or atleast they left for the greater good.A small smile chirped onto his lips as Feng began to talk about him fighting them off " haha yeah, you're damn right Feng...You're damn right.." He let out a melancholy groan, for no matter how much he thought of it, or how much Feng tried to help, the answer remains that he let those two just go, and he had no idea what was going to happen to them.Suddenly Feng's summon began to talk, he seemed to be quite tactful, and level headed, it was refreshing to have someone like that in their group. "I dont believe for a second it's gone forever, nothing is." The spirit held out her hand to him, he was unsure why, but he gladly went along as shook her hand, there was clearly something up with this woman, however at this stage any ally possible was needed. "It's nice to meet you Maika, i'm Riku, but you probably know that". As he listened to her story, he was caught of guard, never before had he heard of a place simply ceasing to exist, rather than moving to another realm. "Thats very strange, as far as I can tell, that's never happened before Maika...something strange must have happened that day..." He stared over to Lucia, she was always so mournful over her home, she needed some closure atleast. The news of her former paramour did not seem to go down easily either, not only was there a miniscule chance of finding the right ones, but there was even a good chance that the right ones may not exist. He had no idea what to say to her, he couldn't even begin to understand the pain she must go through ".......it'll get better Lucy.I promise" He had no idea what to do for her.Nothing he had done so far seemed to work, she may seem to be happier than at the start, yet not long after she would be back to her same state. He would never stop helping her, she was his friend, and she deserved happiness, and yet...perhaps it was someone else's turn to try and help her. Feng seemed to truly care for her just as he did, maybe this time he would just let him try and help Lucia cope, he deserved to get to know her as Riku did. As two palms struck down upon his own he gazed over at the two people above them.Lucia who had an intense spirit, who bore more upon her shoulders than anyone he had ever known.Feng, the boy with a beautiful heart, who decided to selflessly help complete strangers. They would both be valuable allies in the harsh times to come, the time might even come when they save the world, who knows. "haha, its great to have you all onboard guys, I think it's time we get out of here!" Riku's palm opened wide and behind of Feng grew a deep dark portal, the corridor of darkness. " This will lead us where we need to go....Come on!" He split up the touching moment they were all having, and sped through the corridor, ready to face on the future, with his incredible team. -EXIT- |

Maika... knew people?! None the less is was another summon, and it just so happened to be the one of the silver eyed boy, Feng. Fate was quite cruel and ironic, wasn't it? He even knew her home... she smiled weakly at his sympathies. At least he partially understood her pain. Only survivor. It rang through her head, making her shiver. It was like she was part of a species, and she was the last one in the world. But she wasn't so sure about that. She couldn't believe that Will was truly gone. He had to be... a Heartless. As well as the others. Had Riku slain any of them? Feng? Or were they still in existence and ensnared by the darkness? It was a demoralizing thought, to think that someone had already killed them, or that they were Heartless to begin with. But Will... something in there told her he was still out there. Human, Heartless, Nobody.... she couldn't tell. Part of her didn't want to know in fear of the answer. Upon hearing Riku speak, she looked at him. He was there for her. He even believed that even though they had been unable to reach Andrid before, it was still out there. That there was still hope for her home. Teras welled up in her eyes. "I'd like to believe that..." Maika stood behind Lucia so she wouldn't see her expression. Maika nodded to Scirocco quickly, muttering a small "Hello". Maika knew well enough that the world was totally gone. She probbed into Riku's consciousness without so much of a warning, so she could speak to him in privacy. Something strange DID happen. I know the rules of the nature of the worlds. I've seen worlds be sucked into darkness. This... this was very different. When the Heartless came, the world started to tear apart. It's like everything started to dissolve, leaving nothing behind. People also did... this happened after Lucia was knocked unconscious. And she doesn't know this. Whatever you do, you cannot tell her... They're bad enough, the memories she carries along with her. She nearly ended herself because of their pain.... Ignorance was bliss. And Lucia needed a lot of bliss after everything she carried with her. "Lucia, I know you just met me... and you probably don't trust me yet. I get it. I'm not asking for you to let me in and tell me everything. Just... don't be afraid to talk if you're scared. It helps to talk to someone, believe me. Don't worry about what she says," he gestured to Maika. "Honestly, tell me this... do you believe in second chances? 'Cause I do. I was raised to believe that everyone gets a second life, which means that you keep living no matter what. It's just a different life. So who knows? All of your friends, all your family? You'll see them sooner or later." Lucia's single visible eye flitted over to him, the usual stony or fierce quality gone. Rather, she felt guilty about snapping at him earlier. And as he shook, his hand slipping from her shoulder, she caught and squeezed it reassuringly. He understood her fear. That much Lucia knew. She could see it in his eyes, the way his skin had paled. "They wouldn't want it to be this way..." Her voice was feather soft, almost barely audible. Riku could only promise that it would get better... But in her heart, she knew that there were more storms headed her way. Deeper, darker ones. But she wasn't going to back down. Yes, the rain did the worst damage. It cut through her fire, her resolve, and the darkness trapped her and sealed her away from the light. But she wasn't going to back down. Lucia was going to give it her all. She would send all of her fire out to pierce the darkness. If it meant to save a life, at the cost of her own, she didn't care (a bit of foreshadowing, eh?). "Yes. Staying here won't do us much good..." She murmured, her face determined. The girl picked herself up from the ground. She was the shortest of them all, she noticed, making her feel quite powerless. But they believed in her. And she had a little trust in the fire she had. But as he opened the corridor, her fears resurfaced. She hated those things... They just brought her spirit lower. It was the worse form of transport. She hesitated as he went through, her bare feet glued to the cracked paving stones beneath her. Could she follow them through? Or would she have to find a way to regroup with them later? She wasn't sure her heart could handle the Corridor. Not again. |

As Lucia stood up, Feng rose next to her, her hand still clutching his. He squeezed her hand gently before letting it drop, a small tinge of pink coming to his face. He smiled softly as he let go. Her hand was warm. It was so small, so fragile, but it radiated warmth. Feng missed having someone warm, missed being able to hold someone's hand like he did as a child. Lucia reminded him of a child. She still was, in a way. He was older than her by a year or two, and all he had felt since he'd followed her away from the hill was... protectiveness. He wanted to defend her from anything. Wait... hold up, he was going way to fast there. He'd known her for only an hour, probably less! He frowned a little, running a hand through his bangs. He adjusted his headband, trying to keep busy, and trying not to look at Lucia. She was staring at the portal of darkness that Riku had disappeared through. She seemed... scared. She was afraid of the darkness. Not that he could blame her, after what had happened to her world. It was swallowed by darkness, all of her friends and family were turned into Heartless, something that, should it happen to him, Feng would probably just jump of a cliff. He wasn't sure how Lucia could be standing so strong. She was here, kicking major ass, and giving Heartless something to fear. He smiled a little as she continued to stare at the path of darkness and placed a hand on her shoulder again, moving to stand right next to her. "Lucia... if you want, you can come with me. I'm going to follow Riku, but I fly there, on Scirocco." He gestured towards his summon, who continued to chat with Maika, asking about how she was doing and saying something about the horrible amount of time it'd been since they last saw each other. The eagle only flapped his wings in acknowledgment. "He can fly through the worlds... it's a bit bumpy at first, but you'll get used to it over time." Feng laughed a little, remembering the first time that he had ridden on Scirocco to another world. He'd gotten sick for a few hours, since his body when he was young was much less immune to sickness and injury than it was now. But Feng would make sure that Lucia would be okay. Looking at the dark portal again, he shuddered. It was... scary. The wind user didn't find much frightening, but the dark portal seemed to be a little too sinister for his taste. Had Lucia gone through it once before? He frowned. If she had, then it was no wonder that she was practically shaking while she simply stared at it. Smiling a little again, he leaned down and whispered, "I bet you that Scirocco can beat Riku to the next world," into her ear. With a wide grin, he whistled for Scirocco, who flew over and turned into his giant eagle form once again. The bird nodded to Maika, leaned down, and bent low enough for Feng to climb on. The Wind Prince did so, mounting the back of his summon. Feng looked over to Lucia, who was still standing in the same place, and held out a hand to her, still smiling. "You coming, princess?" he asked teasingly. "Your chariot is waiting." |
