She has mint green hair, a red leotard with a purple sash around her waist, red boots, red wristbands and purple shoulder-pads. Her hair is always seen tied into a ponytail. In Terra's Esper form, her hair is long and wild, and her entire body, hair included, is vivid lavender. Biography: A pure, innocent girl born with the power of magic." Terra was born in the Land of Espers, to an Esper father (Maduin) and a human mother (Madeline). Two years after she was born, the Gestahlian Empire raided the Land of Espers and abducted Maduin. Madeline, with her last breath, told the Emperor Gestahl to keep away from her daughter; however, it was too late. Terra grew up in the custody of the Empire, and was raised as a weapon of mass destruction. The exact details of this part of her life are unknown, but she developed a fondness for Moogles during this time, and enjoyed fluffing their fur. Eventually, the Imperial general Kefka Palazzo took a keen interest in her and put a Slave Crown on her head, forcing her to obey his orders directly. Among them was to annihilate fifty of the Empire's finest soldiers, which she did with ease. Presumably this was a test of whether the slave crown actually worked and/or her ability to do so. Sixteen years after the raid on the Land of Espers, Terra was assigned on a mission to Narshe, accompanied by two Imperial troopers: Biggs and Wedge. The mission was to do research on, and to retrieve, the frozen Esper lying in the mines. The trio succeed in reaching the Esper, but its sheer power remove Biggs and Wedge from the area and knock Terra clean out cold. Despite this, she has a bad case of amnesia. She is rescued by Arvis, a resident of Narshe, who removes the slave crown and nurses her back to health. However, the local police knows of her location and wants her in custody due to her former control by the Empire. Arvis helps Terra escape, but the guards catch up to her in the mines. This forces Locke Cole to rescue her, along with eleven Moogles. They succeed, and Locke takes Terra away to Figaro. Meanwhile, Kefka is worried his weapon is taken away. He heads to Figaro (where Terra was being hidden by the king, Edgar Roni Figaro, and Locke), to ask about her whereabouts. Edgar lies and says he never knew of her. This does not stop Kefka from attempting to burn the castle down. Terra, Locke, and Edgar manage to escape riding Chocobos, while the Castle submerges under the desert. Edgar and Locke, knowing of Terra's power, take her to the Returner Hideout in the Sabre Mountains, where Terra meets Edgar's twin brother, Sabin. After passing the Sabre Mountains, the party meet up with the leader of the Returners, Banon, who tries to convince Terra to join their cause. He does not want to force Terra to do so, because, as Edgar said, forcing her would make them "no different from the Empire", making her decision completely hers. Depending upon the player's actions, Terra eventually agrees to join. Banon invites Terra to come to Narshe with him, Edgar and Sabin, and she accepts. On the way, the foursome is attacked by Ultros, an octopus inhabitant of the Lethe River. During the battle, Ultros latches onto Terra's leg with a tentacle, and while Edgar pulls Terra away, Sabin tries fighting it off with a Blitz. However, during the struggle, Sabin is thrown from the raft, and Terra, Edgar, and Banon have to reach Narshe alone and have to trek back through the mines to meet up with Arvis as the local police does not want Terra or the Returners in town. Thereafter, everyone meets up in Narshe. The Empire stages an attack in order to get the to Esper again, this time led by Kefka. Banon leads the defense, which Terra participates in. The defense eventually wins and Kefka is forced to retreat. After the battle, the group goes to see the Esper, which reacts with Terra again. This time, Terra transforms into an Esper, and flies away to a place unknown. A search party is set up to look for her. She is eventually found in the city of Zozo, atop the tallest tower. She is being cared for by Ramuh, an Esper. Ramuh tells the party that in order for Terra to recover, she has to meet with her father, who is still being held prisoner by the Empire. Celes Chere agrees to lead a party to attack the Empire, and Locke agrees to accompany her. Locke eventually returns with Maduin, now a Magicite shard, and brings him to Terra. She regains her memory, and is able to control her transformation. The party heads for Narshe to form a strategy to attack the Empire. Banon thinks the best strategy would be to have the Espers attack from the east, and then a coalition of Returners and Narshe guards would attack the Imperial capital, Vector. Terra has to be the messenger to the Espers, since she is the only one who could communicate with them. She leads a team through the Cave to the Sealed Gate, which leads to the Land of Espers. She is ambushed by Kefka, but is able to open the gate to the Land of Espers, and the army of Espers that emerge, led by Yura, attack Kefka. Terra's group manage to escape to the party's airship, but the Espers are in hot pursuit, and attack the ship, which is forced to land near Vector. The party agrees to enter Vector. Once they arrive, they find the city up in flames, and Arvis and Banon are confused. Inside the castle, Emperor Gestahl appears to have surrendered. He invites the Returners to a banquet during which he proposes peace. He asks Terra to relay a message to the Espers, who were hiding out on Crescent Island to the east. Locke agrees to accompany her, and General Leo Cristophe would act as the Imperial liaison. On the way, Terra asks Leo about love, because it is an emotion she has never felt before. She is worried that being half-Esper would prevent her from truly falling in love. Leo reassures her and says it wouldn't. Upon arriving at Crescent Island, Terra and Locke, now accompanied by Shadow, make their way to the remote village of Thamasa, to ask about Espers. They find the villagers hostile to strangers, and they ask an old man named Strago Magus for help. Strago denies the existence of Espers, but is friendly nonetheless. That night, Terra, Locke, and Shadow are invited to stay for free at the inn. During the night, a building is caught on fire, and Strago's granddaughter, Relm Arrowny, is stuck inside. Strago asks Terra and Locke to help him rescue her, and they see Strago's magical abilities in the process. As a result, Strago reveals the truth of his ancestry to Terra and Locke, and agrees to accompany them to the Espers' Gathering Place. Relm follows them, and catch up to them in a fight with Ultros. Eventually, the group reach the area where Yura is hiding with the rest of the Espers who attacked Vector. Terra convinces Yura to set up a conference with General Leo. Back in Thamasa, Yura and Leo begin peace negotiations. However, they are interrupted by Kefka, who reveals this was a set up for him and Gestahl to retrieve more Espers to turn into Magicite. Kefka kills Yura and the other Espers and wounds everyone but Leo, who fights Kefka and dies. Kefka begins to collect the remains of various Espers, and heads to the Sealed Gate to collect more. As a result, the Statues are restored and the Sealed Gate rises above the ground and becomes the Floating Continent. Afterward, Terra leads a funeral service for Leo. One year after Kefka destroyed the world, Terra finds herself in the village of Mobliz, which is attacked by Kefka's "Light of Judgement." All the adults have died, and Terra feels a responsibility to take care of the kids. While doing so, she realizes a new side of her is awakening, and thus she loses her ability to fight. Celes and Sabin try to convince her to take up arms again, but Terra refuses, knowing that she would only be a burden. She even proves her weakness when the town is attacked by Humbaba, a legendary beast. The second time Humbaba comes, though, Terra realizes what her feeling was, and it was love for the children. With this new-found knowledge, she defeats Humbaba and rejoins the battle. As the party prepare to invade Kefka's Tower, Terra's friends, most noticeably Celes, are worried about her fate, as they might have to destroy the Warring Triad, the source of Magic which allows the Espers' survival. As the party confronts Kefka, even if the player avoids recruiting her, Terra senses the party calling to her and flies to the tower. After Kefka is killed, Terra transforms into an Esper and uses the last of her power to help the party escape from Kefka's Tower. However, Maduin tells her as he is about to shatter, that she would live on as a full human if she was attached to someone or something. Due to her love for the children of Mobliz, she was allowed to live, and the game ends with Terra standing at the bow of the Falcon releasing her ponytail and savoring true freedom for the first time. It is after this that the gods, Cosmos and Chaos began gathering warriors for the twelfth cycle of war, Terra was one such warrior, however like many that were gathered into the plane, she to lost most of her memories of her home and, as a result, once again came under kefka's control where he once more used to slave crown to insure her cooperation and fought as a warrior of chaos during the twelfth cycle. Kuja weakens Kefka's spell over Terra before the cycle officially began, due to feeling sympathy for her predicament. After running off during her fight with Vaan, Terra is confronted by Kefka over her newfound reluctance to fight before he proceeds to torture her until Vaan comes to her aid and gets her out of harm's way. Vaan, after fighting Kefka, manages to retrieve Terra while Kefka was distracted by his giddiness from the fight, and was not aware that Vaan had retrieved Terra to the point Vaan bids Kefka goodbye, and when discovered Kefka is confident that she would come "running straight back into his arms, anyway" and decides not to pursue. Though she pleads with Vaan to kill her as she sees her power as nothing but a danger to everyone around her, Vaan gives her reason to live because of his kindness. When they part ways, Vaan tells Terra to hide until he and the others are able to beat Chaos, intending to have Terra join them. Later on, injured by manikins while keeping them away from Order's Sanctuary, Terra unknowingly found her way to Cosmos's throne and passed out. Though a warrior of the opposing group, Cosmos recognizes Terra to be one who wants to put an end to the conflict and converts her into a Warrior of Cosmos with the Warrior of Light as a witness. Coming to at the start of the 13th cycle, Terra ends up attacked by manikins, only for the Onion Knight to come to her aid. He suggests that he protect her after deducing that she's not actually ready to fight. Terra apparently recalls some lingering memories of her brief encounter with Vaan during this exchange. Together, the two travel in search of the crystals, before she detects something in the distance. Though she was fearful, Terra followed the Onion Knight to the source where she loses control of her Esper form due to the Slave Crown reactivating, and unwillingly attacks the Onion Knight, forcing him to fight her in order to defend himself. Despite the Onion Knight's attempts to calms her, Terra is spirited away by Cloud of Darkness. Though rescued, Terra has no memory of her attacking the Onion Knight, who decides not to tell her. However, Kefka appears and taunts Terra with her lost memories, alluding to her earlier attack on Onion Knight and how destructive she is. Terra refuses to believe him, and the Onion Knight attacks Kefka, teleporting them both away with Terra left on her own. Fighting the power in her, Terra later encounters Cloud Strife, who had just obtained his crystal and fights her to provide an outlet for her strength to help her regain control of her actions. After the battle, Terra thanks him, though Cloud rejects her gratitude because he did not see any proof that what he did really helped. In turn, Terra helps Cloud by assuring him he really did help her. Cloud thanks her for helping him realize he can help others, so he decides to join Terra to search for the Onion Knight. Along the way, Cloud presents Terra with Firion's rose and inspires her to hope for a world where dreams like Firion's could come true, and "all sorts of flowers can bloom." After some more journeying, the two finally confront Kefka, who tempts Terra to give into her powers and rejoin him in causing destruction. Terra rebukes his claims, having found the will to fight to protect hope, and she says that no matter what happens to her regarding her power, she will not lose sight of that. Kefka is enraged by her refusal as the Cloud of Darkness ambushes them and attacks Cloud, who pulls out his sword, ready to defend Terra. The Onion Knight reappears, and he and Cloud fight the Cloud of Darkness together, while Terra fights Kefka. Initially fleeing from his attacks, Terra stops running, fights, and defeats him. Relieved that Kefka is gone, and both the Onion Knight and Cloud are safe, Terra's crystal appears. She departs with her two allies, having learned to control her powers, and now believing that even if dreams are trivial, they can still give their holder the strength and power to make that dream a reality. While rejoining the others, Terra talks with Cecil over how he is able to cope with the fact that he has to fight with his brother. She also expresses sympathy, hoping that the war ends soon, but also has sadness that the end of the war means she won't see her friends again, as well as fears that when she does return, she either won't have any friends to greet her back, or she'll end up back on the battlefield at her homeworld again, as the only memories she has are of war and strife, with Cecil mentioning that things weren't that different when they entered the conflict, plus that he's certain that things will end well for her when she returns to her homeworld, with Terra expressing that she never thought of it that way before. after obtaining the ten crystals, Cosmos's power is split among the heroes, and as a result, she loses her strength, leaving her at the mercy of Chaos, who kills her. After fighting their disappearance, Cosmos's Warriors decide to vanquish Chaos for what he has done. After a few battles, Terra encounters Kefka in his tower, where she demands Kefka reveal what he knows about the war. Although he refused to reveal to Terra about her involvement in Cosmos' death, he nonetheless reveals he plots the destruction of everything in existence, even the existence of Chaos himself. Terra strikes him down, and explains there are things she wants to protect (possibly in an effort to seek redemption for what she has done in the past) and also that merely searching for a meaning to life gives life meaning in itself. Kefka refuses to herald her, claiming life itself is a futile and meaningless experience, and craves for senseless destruction, as he self-destructs with a sorrowful laugh. Terra speculates that Kefka went on his mindless rampages to fill a void in his heart, and vows to continue on, even if she repeats the same life as those before her, due to feeling that the tragedy that occurred must never ever happen again. Later, Terra and the other heroes fight and best Chaos, which sends them to a field near Cornelia Castle in World A, where, one by one, they return to their home worlds. Before she leaves for her world, Terra thanks everyone for teaching her how to keep going while telling them to take care. Personality: As a person, Terra is a confused young woman. She often questions her emotions, or lack thereof. She is easily confused and frightened early in the game. However, as Terra learns more about herself, she becomes more assertive and determined. Once she learns her true past, she is insecure about her unique heritage and questions if she can feel love. In the end, however, Terra is brave and willing to fight for what she knows is right, especially in the second part of the game where she rejoins the party to help make the world a better place for others. she is caring and loving, expisully of her friends and her father, along with moogles and any and all children she may come across. RP Sample: "Hello? Is anybody there?" There was no reply, just her own voice echoing back at her. This world... it was so... confusing. The world was darker than her own and she couldn't see the sky, but she wasn't in a cave. Instead the ruins of a city rose around her, stretching up to a gigantic metal roof overhead. Why does a city need a roof? Terra did not know that these plates were not a cover for the slums below, but rather a floor for the city above. no matter the explanation, In the past she would have been frightened by the situation, but now Terra was braver, more sure of herself, and she knew if she kept her spirits up and kept going she would find people eventually. Mostly she worried about the children of moblix, but she knew they could cope fine without her. They were so grown up already, and at least they had Katarin and Duane who were both only a year younger than Terra was after all; even if they had their hands full with their new baby. She stepped over rubble carefully in her boots, but in the main her way was clear. The streets were empty and the buildings in varying states of disrepair, but not so badly broken and strewn as to impede her progress. The thought that consoled Terra was that at least she still had all her memories; she was no stranger at being flung into strange places, usually waking up there with no recollection of anything that had happened before that time. This time was a little different in that this place seemed more foreign than anywhere before; even these ruins seemed to indicate a place much more technologically advanced than her own world. That thought was so strange that it captivated her. Hopefully there would be people here, they could tell her exactly where she was. As she walked, she felt the atmosphere was getting lighter, and soon she could see the edge of the plate high above and the outside world beyond. That was quite a relief to be able to see the sky again, she had no idea how people could have ever lived here with such a weight over their heads. It became clear that this world had more life in it than just the rats she had seen scurrying off into the ruins. Beyond the edge of the plate lay another city, it had seemed no more than an extension of this one, but now that she was closer it was clear that the two cities were different. Unlike this place, it had signs of being lived in; even from here she could see a crane moving, putting together a metal building frame, from this distance they could be toys. It was more vast than any town she had seen before. Again the new technology stood out at her, alien and strange, huge advertising billboards and bright electric lights and all sorts of things that Terra had never seen before. She had to snap her jaw shut, never having seen such wonders before. Sure, her world was not medieval, it had magitek armour and a moving castle and many other wonders of its own, but there was no words for this place. Terra wanted to go home, but she knew there was no way she could leave this place without finding out more. She could feel evil in the city, masked from her, evil as least as bad as Kefka had been, but there was good there too, allies of hers from somewhere she had forgotten. These mixed feelings made her hesitant, but all the more intrigued. Should she continue? Did she even have any other choice? After the moment of hesitation passed she continued walking, leaving the ruined city of Midgar behind her and entering Edge. ((Tried my best to describe the town in gaia, Don't know whether I got it exactly right or not, correct me if it don't seem to match edge to you)) Edited by Jecht, May 31 2012, 11:32 PM.
