Goddess's Training Requiem; Tex begins his training under Lightning

Tex had finally fallen asleep in his bed after thinking about what had happened to him. It had been a long day for him, even though time never moved forward in this place. It was so confusing what had happened, he didn't understand so much right now it hurt. He somehow got his heart back, he ended up in a lifeless place with only one person inhabiting it, and worse of all some of his memories were feeling fuzzy as if they had been lost.

Meanwhile Lightning had woke up what would be an hour ago and was at Etro's Throne asking her what to do next. What would sound like a calming wind would blow through the temple, giving Lightning her answer.

"I understand Etro, I will teach him everything about this place. And then I will reteach him how to fight, without his darkness."

After hearing the wind blow through the temple, Tex got out of bed and put on his armor to get ready for his training. He walked downstairs and as he was about halfway down, he saw Lightning coming up the stairs.

"So Lightning, where do we begin today. How about we start by you explaining to me exactly where I am? And in return, I'll share something that I know. Besides, there's something really big going out in the rest of the worlds and I think you want to know about it."

Lightning smiled and waved her hand, instructing Tex to follow her. The began walking down the stairs, when Lightning made a sharp right into a newly formed passageway. Tex followed her into it and after a few minutes, the two were on a balcony. Lightning had to chairs pop out from the floor so the two could relax while they were talking.

"So, where to begin about explaining. Well, you are in Vahalla home of the Goddess Etro. Here time stands still, there is no past or future, only the now that never moves. It seems Etro has chosen you to watch over her as I was forced to, but you get to choose."

Tex had an angry look on his face due to this new revelation, but kept his calm. The fact that he had been saved just to be used hurt him more than anything, but then again this was better than being dead.

"But I'm a little confused, how did I get my heart back and why did I lose some of my abilities from before. It seems as though you kept yours when you came here, shouldn't I have kept mine?"

"Under normal circumstances you should have stayed you, but Etro saw fit to remove or add some things that would make you whole again. Your body now remains whole and the darkness your heart had was cleaned, but some darkness still remains. It stands to reason then that when this was done, the darkness that strengthened you could no longer do what it had done before and thus you lost some of your previous abilities."

Tex smiled a little at this as part of him had been saved, but a vital part of his identity had been lost with a slim chance of getting it back. However, this new light in his heart mixed with his old light and darkness was pushing him. He wanted to fight for the people he cared about instead of searching for power. Part of him however, now wanted someone who he could share his life with once this was all over be it in life, or after death.

"Well that was certainly unexpected from what I was hoping for, but oh well. I guess now its time for me to explain about whats going on outside this world. Though I must warn you, me being summoned here may have put the people you care about in danger."

Lightning immediately showed a bit of sadness on her face at this statement, but would still listen to Tex.

"The world I come from has been lost to light for quite some time now, but that's not the important part. For the longest time a man named Xehanort has been plotting and scheming and after his years of work a war has broke out between the worlds now. There are the ones who fight to protect the light, then there are the Heartless and the Nobodies. The Heartless are creatures of pure darkness who wish to drown everything in darkness. The Nobodies wish to destroy an thing called Kingdom Hearts. It keeps everything in balance, so if it is destroyed no one knows what will happen. That's why by Etro bringing me here, your world may have been connected with the others and war could spread here. For now though your world should be safe."

Lightning would show the slightest hint of shock in her eyes, but Tex would not notice it. The fact that Etro took this risk made Lightning have a few doubts, but worse of all her family was in danger. Her sister most of all could be lost to these creatures if things went badly. However, she shrugged off these thoughts when Tex said that things should be safe for awhile.

"Very well Tex. I regret to hear about your world being lost, but still I am a bit concerned for the Goddess now that there is a slim chance of the Heartless or these Nobodies showing up. For now though, we will begin your training. I'll give you a chance to eat something and then we will begin."

Tex nodded and headed to a dining hall to eat a meal alone, while Lightning went to report this to the Goddess Etro.

Tex arrived in the Dining Hall and saw that a wide assortment of foods was waiting for him. He took some steak, rice, a potato, and poured some sweat tea for his meal. An assortment of moogles than came and cleared the table of the rest of the food, leaving Tex plenty of room to eat.

Meanwhile, Lightning was in Etro's Throne Room and was kneeling before the throne which was still empty. Lightning knew she had a long task ahead of her, but she knew it would help to have some extra muscle around the temple. Then another light breeze blew from her throne to Lightning, as if it was talking to her. Lightning would then stand up and begin to walk toward's the dining hall.

"I understand Etro. I will do what I can, but he may not cooperate."

Tex had finished eating his meal and was walking to the throne room, when he walked right past Lightning. The two stopped right next to each other as if they were simply seperated by a mirror. They were the exact same, yet at the same time so different.

"Lightning, while we walk to the training grounds can I talk to you about something?"

Lightning immediately pressed her hand against the wall and opened another secret passage to the training grounds. Tex was somewhat shocked at this as he had never seen so many hidden passages before. He would be sure to remember this, when it was time for him to leave.

"Of course Tex, follow me."

As the two would walk, Tex would begin to stretch his body as he was still getting used to the armor.

"So Lightning, why exactly did Etro choose me to become one of her protectors? I know at least five other people who would make more worthy guardians. So this is my question to you, why I did become one of her chosen?"

Lightning kept walking forward, with or without Tex.

"Well Tex, there are several reasons you could have been chosen among the rest. You are the first one chosen willingly by Etro, but it seems those strong of heart during death seem to be choose. Until recently Etro did not begin watching the events of this war, so you were one of the first found worthy. Besides she looks very closely at the memories of people and you were one of the only free ones on hand. You were also one of the few who fought for a noble cause in life, so Etro chose you."

"Very well then Lightning, I will train to protect Etro."

Tex and Lightning had arrived in a huge area spanning about five miles wide, leaving plenty of room for any form of fighting. Lightning immediately snapped her fingers and three swords rose out of the ground, surrounding Tex. He looked on at the swords a bit bewildered, but this was not nearly as strange as the visions he had while getting his keyblade.

"Tex, now you must choose the weapon that best represents you. Each weapon has a side to it that correlates to the Heart. Your heart will give your weapon strength that you will need in battle."

Tex nodded after Lightning had finished speaking and looked at each of the swords. One glowed with Light, another with darkness, and the third an combination of Light and Darkness. He had always commanded the darkness in the past and it nearly destroyed him. He knew if he choose the Light and Dark weapon he could find balance, but his darkness had been so strong before. He needed a weapon of near pure light that would let him find a true balance, before he could accept the darkness as a power once more.

Tex walked over to the one that shined like a tiny sun and as he drew closer, he felt it breathe as if it was a living thing. He could feel a heart within it and feel its every beat. When he grabbed the sword, the other two faded away and the sword Tex had chosen vanished in light. He immediately then resummoned it to his side and desummoned it again.

"I feel a warmth inside my body now. Something that wasn't there before in my life, which is weird. There was a time where I was mainly light, but I never felt anything like this before in my life."

Lightning smiled at this as she had assumed that Tex would choose the darkness once again as his ally, instead of the light. The time had come at last, Tex had been chosen worthy and it was time to train him. The way Tex had fought before was good, but Lightning would help him improve further.

"Tex, now that you have chose a new path to walk on it is time to begin the true training. All up until now was to see if you were pure enough to protect Etro, so now we shall begin."

Tex would have spent the last hour or so doing training with his new sword. It was not to different from other weapons he had wielded in the past, but Tex didn't feel as connected with it as a Keyblade. While the sword had its unique properties that could give a slight edge in battle, but he missed his old weapon. He had truly bonded with it and now that it was gone, he still felt a sting in his heart even if it was not his own.

Tex than desummoned his sword and walked towards Lightning with a sad frown on his face. He immediately perked up so she would not worry, but she had probably seen it already.

"So Tex, are you ready to begin training the summons that will aid you in combat?"

Tex had a puzzled look on his face. He had indeed used summons before and learned a lot about them, but why would he need to be trained in them. If his memories had been learned by Etro and passed onto Lightning, why was she insisting this training on summons. He would go with it for now as he guessed Lightning had her reasons.

"Sure Lightning, I am ready though I am a bit puzzled. I already learned about summons, why do I need to learn them again?"

"Because your previous ones were lost to you and I am going to teach you how to use your new ones."

"Wait what?" Tex's eyes would blink at Lightning's statement about the new summons.

"Etro is granting you three allies that will aid you while you protect her alongside me."

Suddenly three lights would dive down onto the area where Lightning and Tex were and three creatures would surround Tex. These were creatures that Tex had never seen before or anything close to them. The closest thing was the robot looking creature, but even then it was still strange.

"Lightning, are these beings from your world?"

"Indeed they are Tex, now take a moment to memorize their looks. You will be fighting alongside them for a long time."

The robot looked as though it was made of a sturdy material that gave it great defense. However, it looked so bulky that it could barely move and was meant to take a beating. Why would someone make a machine simply to get pounded on over and over and over again. Was it meant to take the blow for the controller or something else?

Then there was the blob like creature that was purely goo and slime. Tex poked at the goo to see how it felt and it was a tad soft, but it could not be dented. It was like a flexible steel of sorts, that seemed indestructible. It seemed like it would be slow, but it had something more to it than met the eye.

Last, but not least there was a bird like creature who was wearing some robes that looked like a mage's outfit. The bird seemed very agile and small, but had a different quality about it. It seemed different from other birds Tex had seen before, but he could not figure out why what was so. Tex figured all three of these mysterious creatures would have their use in time.

"Alright, now that you've had a few minutes to memorize what they look like, why don't you give me their fighting styles. I am not saying you have to be right, but tell me what you think when you see them."

The three would immediately become balls of light and float around Lighting, waiting for Tex to answer.

"Well, from what I could tell the goo like creature focuses on physical like attacks though it does seem a bit slow. The machine is definitely built for defending things as the materials used to make it were near indestructible. The bird seems to know a bit about magic, though that one was a tad easy due to the robes it wears. The three obviously have special talents that each seem to help whoever commands them. Such as withering down the enemies or defending their master."

Lightning smiled at this and sent the three lights into Tex's Heart and then they all appeared next to him.

"Well Tex, you must have had good teachers before me as you got a 100%. Well since you know their powers basically I guess I can explain. As you go through your travels if you ever must leave this place, you may meet new companions who will help you. You can recruit these into your aid and have them help you. These creatures will be forever connected to your heart and as you gain more, you can choose who can help you. However, a rule is that you may only have one assisting you at a time as that is how much your new heart can handle for now. It has not had the fortitude to handle more at a moment's notice."

Lightning paused and whistled signaling for a winged monster to come to her location.

"Tex, you've done very well so far in your training. Your physical power is very large and your mental prowess is also exceeding what we thought it would. Your a very competent warrior and I hope the future holds good things for you here. Now then, it is time to return to the temple and I will see you in the morning."

Lightning and Tex would then hop on the creature when it came flying down and rode on it to the temple. As they were riding, Tex's mind was slowly flooding his heart with the memories he had from before he arrived in Vahalla. As they approached the temple, he jumped off of the creature and dove straight for his room; landing face first on the stone floor.

"Well, that was a bit unpleasant...then again I've had my heart ripped out of me by force so I guess this is nothing."

Tex would mumble this while he was still eating the floor, so no one could hear him. He slowly got up and shook his head like a cartoon character getting all of the dirt and dust off. He then waved to Lightning, closed the windows to his balcony and went to sleep.

As Tex would dream in his sleep, instead of a normal dream he would get a new experience. He would have a slide show of shorts going on show several visuals from his past. Of these he saw some of his friends like Shoujax, Omega, Mickey, Roxas, and so many others he had met. Roxas stood the most out as Tex had really bonded with him and it hurt that he could not see him again.

Then came the images that could be considered nightmares. First came the waves and waves of Heartless he met and fought on his journey's before that plagued the worlds. Then came members of Organization XIII other than Roxas, that Tex had met before such as Saix and the one who killed him out of orders.

Then came the Xehanorts that he had met. There was the first Xehanort he met known as Master Xehanort. The original one who started the chaos so many years ago. The one who through his life and so many others into chaos. Then there was the Xehanort who fused with Terra. The one who had done the worst to his life. Then there were two more figures covered in darkness who Tex had never met, but they smelled of pure evil work.

All of a sudden, one of those shadowed figures would take shape, a black robed man with a pure white mask was suddenly approaching him. The dream would snap to a sudden vividness, becoming very much real. This was no longer an idle dream, this was;

"The Realm of Dreams, welcome, Tex. We've never had the pleasure of meeting before, have we?" The Masked Man waved his arms, and the wispy shadows of the Dream state would shift, turning into Traverse Town. They were now standing in the First District. Faded figures could be seen off to the side, seeming to go about their daily routines, not seeming to notice Tex and the Stranger.

"I believe we are in need of some discourse." He said, motioning with his hand that Tex should begin asking questions.

As Tex was looking at those figures of Xehanort, one took a shape and a mysterious figure appeared. This figure wore clothing that was colored in black, but wore the white mask. It did not matter who was under the mask, the person had some connection to Xehanort and Tex would find out what.

"No we have not it seems."

Suddeny the figure waved his arms and the two were suddenly in Traverse Town. Tex would look around and then glare at the stranger. The citizens were completely unaware of the two being here, it confused Tex. Were they all part of the dreaming realm, or were Tex and the stranger in a dream viewing the waking world.

"Alright I have a few questions for you friend." The friend would be very sarcastic in tone and could be took as insulting.

"So first off, how do you have control over this Realm of Sleep? Sure technically anyone does, but yours seems like practice. Secondly, why are you here in the Realm of Sleep? You seem as though you should be in the Realm of Darkness. I say darkness mainly because of the person you took form from. Which leads me to the third question, which incarnation of that monster Xehanort are you? Your either his Nobody or Heartless, I already met the original and the version of him in Terra's body. Or is there some fifth incarnation I don't know about."

Tex would then look at the ground for a second and then glare back at the Masked Figure. Tex then summoned his new sword from Vahalla and a keyblade?!?!?! Somehow Tex had his old keyblade back, but he ignored it and threw it at a building.

"Tell me, why did you bring me here. Why did you appear to me?"

The Masked Man listened to Tex's questions quietly, letting him finish before he moved. After Tex was done, the Masked Man started to pace side to side, quiet for a moment as he seemed to choose his words carefully.

"Let's see...which point to address first, I wonder." He would finally say. Tex would probably realize at this point that he was purposely taking his time to annoy Tex. He would eventually start explaining, but only after he got a rise out of Tex. "Hehe, I suppose I should answer in order. First off, I am a Denizen of the Realm of Sleep, similar in form to the Dream Eaters, but unlike those vague creatures, who can affect anyone's dreams," He motioned to the side, at the faded people seeming to move about. "We exist only for our particular person, normally anyway. When our Individual came here, some time ago, he quickly adapted. We became far more self-aware, and gained power because of it. We represent fragments of his Mind, and thus, have significant Willpower as a result. His is the will to defy reality itself, making power out of Nothingness. Thus have we come to attain much power in ourselves. So, cutting out all the exposition, the answer to your first question is, we are of the Realm of Sleep, thus we are in our Domain. Willpower grants much power to any who know how to use it, but we are Superior in this regard."

He would then stop his pacing and face Tex fully.

"We suppose, in the end, that answered your second question as well, didn't it?" He asked with a chuckle. "And your third question as well, since even though you should have realized which Incarnation we're connected to, we are not a proper Xehanort incarnation ourselves. However, your fourth question has merit, young Tex. Fifth, sixth? Thirteen incarnations? Master Xehanort has many secrets, many plans. Unfortunately, not all the incarnations are aware of scope of things. Not even Master Xehanort himself is aware of the plans he himself has put in motion, not consciously, anyway. We, in our state of existence, are attached to the Subconscious of Xemnas, each of us representing different portions of his Psyche. I represent Xemnas' True Knowledge. I know things even Xemnas doesn't know, things that he has either forgotten or had sealed away from him. One by one, Xemnas is absorbing us, so soon, Xemnas will gain my power, my knowledge, and come to realize that he, Superior of the Organization, Master of Manipulation, has himself been Manipulated. But soon, all that will change."

The Fragment of Xemnas, as he had now revealed himself, watched as Tex summoned his Keyblade and tossed it aside, demanding the answers to another question. With a small tsk, he said, "You should not have done that, young Tex. Things that happen here will affect Reality. That just there was a chance to claim your Keyblade for your new Heart. Now, because of your rejection of it, you shall be unable to have a Keyblade until you claim your original Heart from Xet."

He was quiet for a moment looking at a nearby faded person who was walking towards him. He carefully stepped out of the shadowy woman's way, holding up a single finger and allowing it to brush against her arm. She'd drop to the ground, silently gripping her arm as if in pain. She'd seem to look around, scared. She'd pick herself up and continue, running now.

"I did not bring you here, Tex. When you went to Sleep, you came to my Realm. When you dreamed of Xemnas, your Mind called to us. I chose to respond, to be the one there when you came to us."

As Tex watched the man pace back forth listening to his words, he realized the whole course of the war had changed. Things were seeming as though the Organization was beginning to win the war, but that couldn't be. Surely Roxas hadn't gone back to them, he couldn't have he was to good for that.

As the figure explained the properties of the Realm of Sleep, Tex stabbed his sword into the ground as he would have even more questions to ask the figure. The person this figure existed for was simply a part of this person's mind. The fragments were growing stronger by the minute and that was a bad sign. And when the figure had said Nothingness, it had hit Tex. The Leader of Organization XIII had come here, Xemnas was still in the Realm of Sleep!!!

Tex wanted to kill this bastard the moment he realized who he was, but he still needed more answers. When the fragment explained of Master Xehanort, it was much deeper than Tex thought it would be. The old man had conjured many plans and set some courses that even he did not know about. That meant there were pieces of the game who were still unknown, that could throw the worlds into turmoil at any moment.

The fragment then went to explain that Tex's actions ensured that he would not gain a keyblade once more until he claimed his true heart back. He began laughing at this as he well knew what his actions could have done.

"Alright, I have a few things I don't like what you just said. They may be the truth, but still no realm exists for one person. What of the worlds that never returned when Kingdom Hearts that was first sealed. I know all about what Xehanort's Heartless did to the worlds and not all of them were brought back. Even we Kingdom Hearts revived everything for this stupid war, they still lied in their resting place."

Tex then picked up his weapon and pointed it at the Xemnas Fragment. He was going to try to destroy the fragment so Xemnas could not be complete again. He knew he was no match, but if Xemnas were to be truly complete...it would spell doom for everything.

"Tell me, why did Xehanort need 13 members for his Organization? Why did he choose the people he chose to serve him and his various counterparts. Why does he seek to begin the Keyblade War once more? I may be asking to many questions, but I need to know the truth. So that when I go back to the Realm of Light I can make sure he fails along will all of the other Xehanort incarnations that may exist, including you."

Tex would then begin walking towards the Xemnas Fragment, but stopped about ten feet away even though it would mean nothing.

"Before I try my best to destroy you to stop Xemnas from recompleteing himself, I have one more question to ask of you? If parts of you exist still in the Realm of Light, what has happened there in my time away?"

The Xemnas fragment chuckled as he listened to Tex. It seemed he had misunderstood a number of things. And more, he seemed to think himself capable of destroying the Xemnas Fragment! Even if he did, Dream Realm beings like him didn't have lives in the normal sense, the Fragment would continue to exist and it would in fact be easier for Xemnas to absorb him. Still, best to not let that happen, actions in the Dream Realm often had unexpected consequences.

"I believe you misheard what I said about this Realm. I never said it existed for any one person, I said that each person has a number of Dreams especially for them. Me and the other Fragments exist solely because of Xemnas, just like you..." The Fragment suddenly seemed to fade, becoming translucent as he dashed forward, moving directly through Tex. Once on the other side of the boy, Tex would see the fragment holding what looked like another Tex by his throat. At least, he had the same clothes as Tex, though the thing lacked a proper face, instead being a swirling mass of black and green energy. "This Fragment, is your regrets. Everything you've ever failed at, every time you've ever fucked up. It's all in this guy."

Spinning around, the Fragment threw Tex's Fragment at the boy, which would be absorbed back into him and force him to feel a rush of depression, guilt, and pain over his failures. Tex would likely drop to the ground from it, as the Xemnas Fragment kept talking.

"Xemnas has already absorbed the Regrets of Terra, Master Xehanort, and himself. He has faced his failures, and overcome them. Can you do the same?"

Only then, as Tex likely laid on the ground, writhing in pain, would the Fragment continue to answer Tex's questions.

"Yes, many Worlds remain here, in the Realm of Sleep. When Sora sealed the Door to Darkness, and saved Kingdom Hearts and the Realm of Light, many worlds were restored, but a few were damaged. They instead came to the Realm of Sleep to rest and recover. Now they await a Keybearer to come and unlock the seven Keyholes of Sleep. Xemnas has unlocked one of the Keyholes, because it suited him, but his main interests in this Realm lie...elsewhere."

He then paused for a moment as he considered some of Tex's words.

"Why in the Worlds do you think that the number of Organization Members is important? Xemnas merely collected every Human Form Nobody he could, and until recently, there were only thirteen. It's not like Master Xehanort needs thirteen Vessels of Darkness or anything." He chuckled. "My, you think you're so smart. Please...you're just a grunt in this war, leaving the thinking to Yen Sid and Mickey. Master Xehanort is trying to recreate the Keyblade War so that he can gain knowledge and power, same as always. He's nothing but an egomaniac. You shouldn't worry about him, ever since Xemnas' rebirth, Master Xehanort's plans have been wrecked."

"Although, I have to ask. I understand why everyone is trying to stop Master Xehanort and Xehanort, who pretty much wish to plunge the Worlds into Everlasting Darkness, but why does everyone oppose Xemnas plan? His plan will undeniably lead to Peace! The Heartless and Unversed would be wiped out, and everyone would soon enough have their Hearts restored. No one would even die!"

Tex listened to Xemnas speak once again and listened very carefully. Every single piece of information he learned here today in this sleep, would be something he could report to Yen Sid and Mickey. Suddenly the Fragment went through Tex and suddenly all of his regrets were gone and he felt good.

Tex's past worries were gone, but he knew it would not last for long. Xemnas would likely force the...it happened. He suddenly dropped on one knee, dropped his sword, and began to clinch. All of his past mistakes and anything else he could have done better flooded his mind at once, it nearly broke his spirit.

"Yes I can you fragment, I move on from my mistakes...I will also OVERCOME THEM!!!"

In a sheer moment of pure willpower, Tex stood high on the ground and began to glow a magnificent light. He stayed still and listened to the answers that the fragment was giving him. One of the keyholes of the realm of sleep had been unlocked, but he was looking for something else in the realm.

Then came the answers relating to Xehanort and his schemes. He taunted Tex with his answers, though some were truth, and others were lies that lied close to the truth. When the fragment began to taunt Tex and his knowledge, he smirked and picked up his sword. He then chuckled when he said that Master Xehanort's plans had been wrecked, but he was not doing much since Xemnas had come back as well. As if Master Xehanort was never truly back in the Realm of Light.

"I can understand why Xemnas would even bother forming an Organization. He is strong by any means and could easily change the course of things if he wanted to, but then there is Xehanort's consistency to scheme and ensure he has multiple schemes to fall back on."

"When Master Xehanort began his schemes he had only three people under the darkness other than himself that worked towards his goal. Now through his schemes he had twelve empty vessels he could command and so many other pawns and resources. Besides Kingdom Hearts is a marvelous wonder, I wonder if it could even infuse people with purest darkness and transform someone into a clone of someone else. Its all theories, but in the end it seems most of these are true."

Tex would then pace back and forth and think about why so many wanted to stop the Organization as well. Everyone had their reasons, so Tex would simply give his.

"Well, everyone has good reasons to stop the Heartless and Master Xehanort, but then those reasons cause them to want to stop you and your schemes. From past experiences they know they could not possibly trust you at all. Even then, personal encounters have shaped some opinions of the Nobodies. Besides who knows what Xemnas would do once he had control over all the empty shells, it could be very dangerous."

Tex then pointed his sword at the fragment, to make sure this last question got answered.

"I know I cannot defeat you, but I still have to try anyway. If there is one thing I have learned in all my travels, its that giving up is not the right way. Now then answer me the question you ignored the first time, WHAT HAS HAPPENED IN THE REALM OF LIGHT???"

The Xemnas Fragment watched with amusement as Tex dropped to his knees under the weight of his regrets, nearly breaking, but ultimately overcoming them to stand tall and glowing. He nodded, apparently having expected this. "Perfect..." He would say simply, his voice dripping with satisfaction.

He would then listen as Tex spoke, making assumptions about Master Xehanort and Kingdom Hearts. He laughed at Tex, obviously amused.

"Xemnas formed the Organization because it was convenient for him, so he thought anyway. It was simply easier to utilize the obvious tools in Human Form Nobodies, who are all immensely strong. Master Xehanort however had his own plan, which involved an odd bit of time travel. Unfortunately, with Kingdom Hearts reviving everyone, that particular plan has gone down the shit-bucket. Instead of Master Xehanort's original plan to utilize Organization XIII to collect 13 vessels of Darkness, he now has to look elsewhere. The Organization belongs solely to Xemnas."

He then listened to Tex as he tried to explain why everyone distrusted the Organization. "Xemnas and the Organization, ever since their revival, have been using this as a second chance to earn redemption, to bring peace to the universe. You believe that Xemnas wishes to utilize the 'Vessels of Darkness' plan? He doesn't. He's changed, he actually respects the lives of his fellow Organization members now. Thanks to Roxas, and Terra, Xemnas has come to think of the Organization as his family, and fights to protect and help them."

With a wave of his hand, a shadowy image of Axel and Ale appeared, a scene of their fight where a Fragment helped recreate Lea.

"Xemnas directed on of the Fragments to help Axel reclaim his Heart, to become Lea. He helped a comrade achieve a dream."

Another wave, another image, of another Fragment consoling Xion. "He even sent one of us to Xion, to that mere puppet, to console her as a way to apologize to her for the way he treated her the first time around."

Another image: "When the Heartless attacked The World that Never Was, Xemnas fought tooth and nail to protect his family."

He stopped. He was quiet for a moment as he stared at Tex. "Xemnas is not the same as he once was. Even now, here in the Realm of Dreams, he continues to change, to grow. He has already regained the full capacity to feel emotions, and has had to deal with his own guilt over his evil actions."

"And most important of all, he dislikes you referring to his family as 'Empty Shells.'"

"I'm honestly getting sick and tired of the racism directed at my People. You were a Nobody once, Tex. For a moment, you understood our plight. And yet here you are, being just as bigoted and close-minded as everyone else."

Xemnas' voice came from behind Tex. When the boy would turn around, he's see Xemnas stroll out of the fog, quickly taking solid form. Though he spoke to Tex a moment ago, he seemed to be ignoring the boy, walking right past him towards the Fragment, who seemed to be visibly intimidated by Xemnas. As Xemnas passed by Tex, he'd reach up and toss back his hood. Tex would see the new Xemnas, who now looked younger, thinner, and his hair was shorter. His tan was slightly lighter too. Once the Superior got close to the Fragment, he'd suddenly punch the Fragment in the chest, fist plunging into him. The Fragment let out a cough and a gasp, obviously in pain, but made no move to avoid or escape. Slowly, Xemnas would pull his fist out, black smog dripping from his arm and disappearing like smoke. In his clenched fist was a small purple crystal. As the Fragment would grab his chest, Xemnas would quickly pop the crystal in his mouth, eating it without hesitation. The Fragment would fade, energy swirling from him and channeling into Xemnas. In the blink of an eye, all this had happened, Xemnas had killed the Fragment and absorbed it, with the Fragment having apparently been willing, despite the pain.

Once all trace of the Fragment was gone, Xemnas would turn and stare directly at Tex, a grin on his face. He seemed jovial, happy. Genuine emotion was coming from him.

Tex smirked at the fragment when he once more gave answers to the questions he asked. He was surprised at how well he was cooperating even though the fragment probably wanted to kill him, like he had ordered not so long ago. Even though this was a fragment of Xemnas, he was acting to calm.

As Xemnas explained of the purpose of the Organization, well its original purpose and Master Xehanort's plan, Tex became shocked to the core. Had Master Xehanort found a way to travel through time, for if he had the very fabric of the worlds was at stake now. He was looking for vessels of darkness, but now that the Organization was out, he had to begin all over.

Then the Xemnas Fragment explained how since Xemnas and the rest of the Organization were revived, they were trying to bring piece to the universe. Yeah, that was a perfect plan to bring about redemption, through bloody war. He knew what the did was somewhat noble, but it could never succeed in the longest of runs. Darkness always had to exist to balance with light, what almost any faction was doing in this war was going to destroy that balance.

Tex then would then see images of where the fragment had either helped his fellow Nobodies. Tex knew one would fight to the bitter end for their own race, which was why the humans were fighting so hard in this war. Then came the empty shell's part. Tex was harboring a strong hatred to the Nobodies, mainly because of what Xemnas had done. Not one moment after Tex had served his usefulness, Xemnas had ordered his death. There was a reason he hated the Nobodies with such a passion.

Then the real one came, Xemnas had claimed yet another fragment. This was getting way to dangerous for him, a fragment was one thing, but a near complete Xemnas was to dangerous. After Xemnas made his claims to Tex, he desummoned his sword and walked to Xemnas's face.

"Well excuse my bias to your race of Nobodies, but if I remember right you ordered my death right after I helped one of your own. So pardon any grievences I might have to you and your fellow Nobodies, but as I said before personal experiences have shaped some people's opinions."

Tex would then walk around Xemnas as though he was examining him. "So, you believe that destroying Kingdom Hearts will lead to salvation for all. You could very well be right, but then here is the issue with that theory. Kingdom Hearts is the source of light, that protects those in the Realm of Light from the Darkness. If it were destroyed, would we become Nobodies, or be consumed by the darkness we were fighting to destroy."

Tex would then stop directly behind Xemnas and face away from him as if they were divided by a mirror. "I do not disagree with your methods, but at the same time I won't support you. I have nothing against the Nobodies as a whole, but I will never support you Xemnas. The day when the Nobodies gain a new permanent leadership...I may be convinced to join them, but until that day..."

Tex would slowly concentrate all of his thought onto Vahalla and its being. The town would slowly melt away to white, while at times coming back slowly. It took a lot of what Tex had to push the change in the area, but he managed. The town faded to white and suddenly Tex and Xemnas were hovering over a pool of water in Vahalla, where Caius and Lightning would stand in due time.

"I WILL NEVER SUPPORT YOU!!!" Tex would summon his sword and immediately slash at Xemnas's backside while leaping forward away from him. Tex would then jump high into the air and slam his sword to the ground, hoping to impale Xemnas.

Meanwhile in the distance a figure would be watching the fight unfold. This was a dream of Valhalla now and thus, a familiar face was waiting to give Tex a hand. Lightning would be flying towards the battlefield on a familiar dragon that Tex had once met before, well an version of that dragon. Lightning was commanding Bahamut into battle to help Tex against Xemnas.

This Tex, a former Nobody that Xemnas had never met before, and had only heard of in passing from Marluxia, was a very confident person, getting up in Xemnas' face and making bold statements. Xemnas grinned wickedly as Tex spoke, briefly reaching up to rub his chin at Tex' mention of having been killed under orders. Yes, that was one of the things Marluxia had mentioned. Xemnas had no knowledge of having given such an order, but as always, could not afford to appear ignorant, so she had acted as if he knew what Marluxia had spoken of. So this was the one he killed. As Tex continued talking, saying that the destruction of Kingdom Hearts would damn the world to Darkness, Xemnas let out a laugh. How little he understood of the workings of the universe. Honestly, sometimes Xemnas felt like he was the only one who truly understood how things worked, even among the Xehanort incarnations, Xemnas seemed to be the smartest, something he chalked up to having all of Master Xehanort's knowledge tempered by Terra's honesty to counter Xehanort's pride. Xemnas directed his thoughts back to Tex, who was just finishing up his rousing speech while walking around Xemnas with a resounding statement of opposition. The world around them shifted to a different place, an impressive feat of willpower from the boy, proof of his worthiness to be a Nobody.

Tex then slashed at Xemnas' back, which would clang against an odd energy barrier that would appear in the path, a ripple of clear Nothingness. As Tex leaped skyward and came down for another attack, another energy barrier would place itself in his path, blocking and knocking him aside, with Xemnas not having moved an inch, he had no need to.

"Even with how strong you've become, young Tex, I am still light-years beyond your pathetic reach." He said, his voice emanating his power. The mightiest Nobody in existence crossed his arms and grinned at Tex, loving his own power. Yes, Master Xehanort's pride was countered by Terra's humility, but Xemnas did have his own pride, untempered by anything. He knew that his pride was one of the reasons he lost to Sora and Riku the first time around, so he had stopped holding back, unleashed his full power, unlocked his Keyblades and now, now nothing would ever stop him again. Even when he noticed the Bahamut coming towards them, Xemnas merely laughed. He had his own Dragon, more terrible and destructive even than the legendary Bahamut, in any of his incarnations.

"Now Tex. I am going to do something to you, something I love doing." He turned and looked at Tex, a sinister glint in his eye. "I'm going to tear your World apart. Not literally, just your self-built world, your perceptions, your beliefs, everything that makes you able to stand in opposition of me right now."

One moment, Xemnas was standing there, evilly grinning at Tex, the next he was gone, a mere blur that faded quickly. Suddenly, Xemnas was behind Tex, laughing. By the time Tex would turn around to lash out at Xemnas thinking he was there, Xemnas had instantaneously moved again, and he was behind Tex again. Xemnas quickly moved to grab Tex by the back of his neck, partially strangling him. Xemnas would then hold Tex so that he could whisper in his ears.

"First, Kingdom Hearts is not Light. It is not Darkness. It is the ultimate source of both. Destruction of Kingdom Hearts would not destroy the balance and plunge the universe into Darkness, it would remove both. Second, I do not plan to destroy the Kingdom Hearts, Heart of the Universe. I'm going to destroy the golden Kingdom Hearts, the Kingdom Hearts of People's Hearts. This will only affect People, not the Universe itself, not the Realms of Light and Darkness, People. And because it's not a matter of falling into Darkness, everybody, and I mean everybody will be a full Nobody, no one will be lost. Third, I am not the one who ordered your death. I only even learned of your existence after Marluxia told me he killed you. Fourth, if you had never died, you wouldn't have your precious new Heart, so just as you shouldn't be hating me for an order I never made, you should in fact be thanking Marluxia for his help."

Done, Xemnas would let go of Tex, instantaneously moving again to put a small bit of distance between him and Tex and the approaching opponents. He looked at them with a smirk before looking back at Tex. Holding his arms out, he said, "What now Tex?"

Tex was getting very frustrated as most of his attacks were being easily blocked by Xemnas as if he was being toyed with. Sure Xemnas may have been a league or two above him, but that was no reason to slack off like a lazy bum. When Xemnas commented about Tex's power compared to his own, he want to chuck his sword at Xemnas, but he refrained from this action. Brute, rash actions would not win him this battle, he needed to be wise and calm.

Then Xemnas said that he would go ahead and rip apart Tex's world. He was going to destroy all that Tex had ever stood for, but that was impossible. Nothing would make him stray from the path he had chosen, he had so many reasons to fight. Suddenly Xemnas was right behind Tex and before he could react, he was being held by his throat.

As Xemnas explained to Tex his scheme to destroy the Hearts of Men instead the true Kingdom Hearts, that made him more disgusted with Xemnas. He was willing to slay millions of Heartess who used to be human, just to try to rid the worlds of any true darkness in the heart. It was an impossible reality. Only few were of true light, anything or anyone else would simply gain darkness once more no matter what.

However, when Xemnas said that he had never ordered Tex's death he had enough of his lies. Unless this Marluxia had gone traitor against the Organization, than someone had to order Tex's destruction. If not Xemnas, than who ordered it. Then there was the statement about his new heart, but one way or another regardless of whether he had died or not he would have still got a heart; though this way seemed to have been more profitable.

Suddenly Tex was released for Xemnas’s grip and he tauntingly told Tex what on earth he would do know, now that he had supposedly taken away his reason for fighting. Xemnas had failed however and he would live with that shame for all time.

“Xemnas, I know this may be hard for you to comprehend, but you are wrong. I still have reasons to fight, there are people I fight for, there are people I was to avenge, and there are those who are waiting for their second chance at life. I may not be strong enough to help them all, but I can still try. No one person ever did everything on their own, but as long as I try, I can rally others to fight the darknesss…and you.”

At this point Lightning and Bahamut were about two miles away from Tex and Xemnas, but an energy barrier sealed them off. While this might have been done by Xemnas, it was actually Tex who sealed them off. He needed to fight Xemnas alone for now, to see exactly where he was at.

“Xemnas, I suggest that if you ever want to have me back, you destroy the man who may have gone against your orders. However, there is one in your Organization I want out of your grip. Though now is not the time for me to try and spring him from you. Now then, since I am feeling nice today, I’ll let you make the next move.”

It seemed that Tex refused to see reason. Xemnas let out an exasperated sigh and facepalmed as Tex tried to tell him that he was wrong. The new, younger looking Xemnas did not seem particularly bothered though. After all, it seemed as if the boy had refused Xemnas simply out of spite rather than any intelligent reason. Xemnas then noticed that the two who were approaching were stopped by some form of barrier, one that was being produced by Tex. This drew a short laugh out of Xemnas, that this boy actually intended to face Xemnas alone.

"Why is it that everyone refuses to believe that I've changed. Why does no one accept that I'm trying to cleanse evil from the Worlds. My plan will undeniably remove all Darkness from the Universe, for at least a generation. The Heartless will all be wiped from existence, and from then on, only new Heartless made afterwords would exist." Xemnas glared at Tex angrily. "Isn't that worth some small discomfort? We of the Organization have lived for years without emotions! The Universe can do without them for a couple months!"

In his brief moment of anger, Xemnas' full aura would be unleash. It's incredible weight would push down on Tex, and was so powerful, that even his barrier keeping the others out would ripple tenuously. Brushing his bangs back, Xemnas would then suppress his aura so as not to bother Tex.

"When Marluxia killed you, he referred to you as a traitor. Whatever his reasons were for killing you, he obviously thought that you had betrayed us. Did you do anything that could have given him this impression? Talk to King Mickey perhaps? Honestly, after the last time he betrayed me, Marluxia's been rather eager to try and win my approval, and he would likely have jumped the gun at something small."

Xemnas would grin at Tex, a curious look in his eyes. He honestly wanted to know why Marluxia had killed Tex before.

"Although, a more pressing issue at the moment, for the sake of your health, why do you not let your allies come to your aid. Surely you do not think you can fight me alone? Also, who exactly do you wish to free from me? All who are there, are there willingly, Roxas and Xion as well. Namine did not wish to be with us anymore, so I let her go. Or do you perhaps speak of Kairi, Princess of Heart and Keybearer, who's Heart guides her to love Roxas?"

At this point, Tex would probably notice that Xemnas had no intentions of fighting Tex. It would serve no purpose, not to Xemnas personally, nor to his master plan. Xemnas was trying to change himself, one of the things he was actively doing here in the Realm of Dreams. One of those things was to not kill indiscriminately.
