Tex had finally fallen asleep in his bed after thinking about what had happened to him. It had been a long day for him, even though time never moved forward in this place. It was so confusing what had happened, he didn't understand so much right now it hurt. He somehow got his heart back, he ended up in a lifeless place with only one person inhabiting it, and worse of all some of his memories were feeling fuzzy as if they had been lost. Meanwhile Lightning had woke up what would be an hour ago and was at Etro's Throne asking her what to do next. What would sound like a calming wind would blow through the temple, giving Lightning her answer. "I understand Etro, I will teach him everything about this place. And then I will reteach him how to fight, without his darkness." After hearing the wind blow through the temple, Tex got out of bed and put on his armor to get ready for his training. He walked downstairs and as he was about halfway down, he saw Lightning coming up the stairs. "So Lightning, where do we begin today. How about we start by you explaining to me exactly where I am? And in return, I'll share something that I know. Besides, there's something really big going out in the rest of the worlds and I think you want to know about it." Lightning smiled and waved her hand, instructing Tex to follow her. The began walking down the stairs, when Lightning made a sharp right into a newly formed passageway. Tex followed her into it and after a few minutes, the two were on a balcony. Lightning had to chairs pop out from the floor so the two could relax while they were talking. "So, where to begin about explaining. Well, you are in Vahalla home of the Goddess Etro. Here time stands still, there is no past or future, only the now that never moves. It seems Etro has chosen you to watch over her as I was forced to, but you get to choose." Tex had an angry look on his face due to this new revelation, but kept his calm. The fact that he had been saved just to be used hurt him more than anything, but then again this was better than being dead. "But I'm a little confused, how did I get my heart back and why did I lose some of my abilities from before. It seems as though you kept yours when you came here, shouldn't I have kept mine?" "Under normal circumstances you should have stayed you, but Etro saw fit to remove or add some things that would make you whole again. Your body now remains whole and the darkness your heart had was cleaned, but some darkness still remains. It stands to reason then that when this was done, the darkness that strengthened you could no longer do what it had done before and thus you lost some of your previous abilities." Tex smiled a little at this as part of him had been saved, but a vital part of his identity had been lost with a slim chance of getting it back. However, this new light in his heart mixed with his old light and darkness was pushing him. He wanted to fight for the people he cared about instead of searching for power. Part of him however, now wanted someone who he could share his life with once this was all over be it in life, or after death. "Well that was certainly unexpected from what I was hoping for, but oh well. I guess now its time for me to explain about whats going on outside this world. Though I must warn you, me being summoned here may have put the people you care about in danger." Lightning immediately showed a bit of sadness on her face at this statement, but would still listen to Tex. "The world I come from has been lost to light for quite some time now, but that's not the important part. For the longest time a man named Xehanort has been plotting and scheming and after his years of work a war has broke out between the worlds now. There are the ones who fight to protect the light, then there are the Heartless and the Nobodies. The Heartless are creatures of pure darkness who wish to drown everything in darkness. The Nobodies wish to destroy an thing called Kingdom Hearts. It keeps everything in balance, so if it is destroyed no one knows what will happen. That's why by Etro bringing me here, your world may have been connected with the others and war could spread here. For now though your world should be safe." Lightning would show the slightest hint of shock in her eyes, but Tex would not notice it. The fact that Etro took this risk made Lightning have a few doubts, but worse of all her family was in danger. Her sister most of all could be lost to these creatures if things went badly. However, she shrugged off these thoughts when Tex said that things should be safe for awhile. "Very well Tex. I regret to hear about your world being lost, but still I am a bit concerned for the Goddess now that there is a slim chance of the Heartless or these Nobodies showing up. For now though, we will begin your training. I'll give you a chance to eat something and then we will begin." Tex nodded and headed to a dining hall to eat a meal alone, while Lightning went to report this to the Goddess Etro. |

Tex sighed a little at the fact that Xemnas's plan would remove all darkness from the hearts of people. This was impossible to accomplish in the truest of long terms. The world's used to be connected and the light flourished, but people fought over that light and darkness grew in turn. The cycle would eventually repeat itself, even if Xemnas's plan had succeeded. Even though he was right about what would happen if his plan did succeed, Tex knew peace would not last. Xemnas then unleashed his full power and it made Tex get on one knee before Xemnas, or else he would be crushed under the aura. His barrier had a hole torn in it and it sent Lightning and Bahamut flying backwards. As soon as Xemnas powered down, Tex would get back up and walk over, standing next to him. "Xemnas, I can understand where you are coming from about removing the darkness. However, there are two key issues I see with this . One if that it is hard for people to trust you until they are convinced that you are trying to do good. Killing Heartless is something anyone will do, even one of their own. You will need to work hard to earn the trust of Mickey and the others, though that may be difficult." Tex paused and listened to Xemans go on about Marluxia and why he would have killed Tex. He would explain soon, but he needed to finish on the first subject before moving on. "Now about the eradicate darkness part, I agree that no darkness for a short time will be good. However, I think we both know what will happen when it is mostly light in the worlds. A new war to nearly destroy the light will break out because people will fight over the light. Your plan has its plus sides, but the plus means losing balance which is key." Tex would then drop down his barrier, allowing Lightning to come in if she wished. "Now about your little assassin. I did associate with Mickey and Yen Sid to fight against Master Xehanort. There were times I was sent to try to retrieve Roxas back when he was a Nobody, but nothing that conflicted with the Nobodies. This was back when I was human and even before I had a keyblade. And truth be told, you need Keyblade Wielders so why did you let him get away with killing a potential new keyblade wielder for the Organization." Tex then listened to Xemnas go on about his own health and why he wanted to fight Xemnas alone. He then went on to who was he trying to save from Xemnas's grip. "Well, I have several reasons for wanting to fight you alone. However, the main reason is to see where I am at in current terms of power compared to yours. You have one of the strongest powers out of the people I have met, so fighting you one on one will truly test myself. As for who I want to save, it is mainly Roxas. He and I made a bond that we cherish and I do not want to see him fall under you. He has his own heart back, he has a chance at living his own life, not serving you. And yet, you are likely using the fragments to make sure he never leaves your side." Tex then realized that Xemnas would not fight him, so he had one course of action. If he had no way to make him fight, he would forcefully eject himself from the dreams. Normally shocking yourself waked someone up, so he decided to do just that. However, he would get the rest of what he could from Xemnas before he left. |

Xemnas grinned as Tex tried to explain that he needed to earn people's trust before they would trust him. The fact that he mentioned Mickey made him smile even wider, like there was a joke there that Tex wasn't aware of. He listened patiently as Tex continued to speak, glancing over at Lightning and Bahamut. He let out a small snort of laughter that he had accidentally knocked them over with something as simple as his aura. Honestly, that showed how little help they would actually be if a fight happened. Tex dropped the barrier then, after having explained his belief that Xemnas' plan would lead to a loss of balance later between light and darkness. Again, Xemnas merely grinned, as if he already knew exactly what to say to that. Xemnas had vast amounts of knowledge, he knew the stories just like everyone else. He knew that people had once fought over the Light, and he already had accommodations for it in his master plan. Tex continued to talk, explaining his past association with Mickey and Yen Sid. Xemnas made an ah-ha! face, lightly punching his fist into his hand and pointing at Tex, signifying that was exactly it, but otherwise, not interrupting the boy, letting him continue. Tex then spoke of why he was wanting to fight Xemnas, to measure his own power, as Xemnas was one of the strongest people he knew of. He also apparently wanted to save Roxas from his control. Finally, it was Xemnas' turn to talk. "Alright then, to address all your complaints, in order; I'm well aware of the War of Light, which was likely tied to the Keyblade War ages ago. You believe that my efforts are to remove Darkness entirely and completely. That is not entirely correct. Remember my Artificial Hearts idea? Well, they are meant to imitate True Hearts, and True Hearts consist of both Light and Darkness, and will be made appropriately. There are several important steps in my plan, that will change how everyone thinks. Think about those few months between the destruction of Kingdom Hearts and the full implementation of the Artificial Hearts; All Anger and Hate will be gone, people will be able to think rationally. Yes, they'll all miss their emotions, like we of the Organization, but they'll learn that they'll get them back, and should carry on with their lives for the moment. Almost all problems, war, violence, and other such atrocities, will stop and be rationally concluded, fairly. Then, when everyone has their emotions back, they'll be able to appreciate how unreasonable they were, and they'll also appreciate their capacity for love and happiness. Almost all societies will inherently develop kinder mindsets, all crime and violence will quickly disappear within one or two generations! Also, there will be no fighting over any Light, like you're expecting. After all, I believe the Light that was once fought over was Kingdom Hearts, and it's location and accessibility will not change because of my plan, so that won't be an issue. For true, lasting peace, I've realized that you must change people at a fundamental level, and this will do just that." Xemnas would pause then, letting all of that sink in for a moment while he organized his thoughts for the next bit about Marluxia. "Now, for the next bit, I'd like you to think about something. When a person becomes a Nobody, they lose their Heart. They lose their capacity to feel emotions. But, and think hard about this next part, does that change them? Does becoming a Nobody change who they really are? No it does not. I still became a megalomaniac villain heading an evil super-organization. Axel still treasured friendship and being remembered, while Roxas, Sora's Nobody, was still a naive boy with heroic tendencies (which the evil-me manipulated). Do you think that you really changed when you became a Nobody? People often forget this, but a person is comprised of three parts, the Body, the Heart, and the Soul. The Soul is your Mind and Memories, and is what I believe makes a Person who they are. You allied yourself once with Mickey and Yen Sid, and that is and always will be a part of you. Marluxia likely found out about your past interactions with them, and deemed you a risk to us. He jumped the gun, eager to prove himself loyal to me, and struck out against one he thought was a traitor. What neither Marluxia, nor you realize is, me and King Mickey...hehe...me and his Majesty are already allies. Though he still does not agree with my plan, and works to prevent it, I already have Mickey's trust as a warrior protecting what he cares about. My family, my friends. My Organization." Again Xemnas paused, letting this next tid-bit sink in. This would likely make the biggest impact with Tex. Xemnas was not the same man he once was. Long gone was the villain who only wanted Power for himself. He honestly wished to bring peace to the Worlds, and most amazingly, he honestly cared about his comrades now. Many of Xemnas' less desirable traits were still there, and always would be, his arrogance, his ruthlessness, his long-winded speeches...but he was a better man now. His face would soften then, after having mentioned his "family". "Finally, about your friendship with dear Roxas. It gladdens me that you would go so far for him. To challenge my might, knowing full well you are not my equal." See, still arrogant, "There's a couple things you need to know about Roxas, so that you will better understand him. While you share a Bond of Friendship with him, which is strong in itself, me and Roxas have developed a Bond of Brotherhood, in all but blood. Roxas looks up to me. He desires my approval and affection. Up until recently, I couldn't truly give him the affection he desired. But, after a meeting with one of my Others, Terra, I changed. I gained a minimal capacity to feel Emotions. It was later, when I was with Roxas, I discovered a warmth in my chest. A tiny flame that told me that I truthfully did care about the boy. I too care for him as he does for me. I wish to protect him, and those he loves from harm. I wish to make the Worlds peaceful, not just for the sake of peace itself, but to give my little brother a place where he can be with Kairi in peace." Xemnas was smiling then, not mischievously or with any hidden motives, but honestly and truly. He would nod at Tex and turn his back, the edges of his image beginning to shimmer. He was about to take his leave. "I'm leaving now Tex. I'm going to continue collecting my Fragments. So that you don't misunderstand, I'm not doing this for any gain of power. Fragments represent portions of my psyche, and when they fight, they use my Power, not their own. For each Fragment I collect, the only thing that changes is my Memories, and with certain Fragments, my capacity to feel emotions. Already, my ability to feel emotions has grown several times, and by the time I'm finished, I will be able to feel emotions as fully as any normal individual." Xemnas looked back at Tex. "I do this for many reason, to better embrace my Bonds, but most importantly I suppose, for Empathy, so I may better feel the scope of what I intend to do." With that, Xemnas vanished, continuing his journey through the Realm of Dreams |

Tex would listen to Xemnas's last words he had to offer and he listened very carefully. The words he spoke sunk into Tex a tiny bit, but for now he would still help Mickey. He could see Xemnas's plan working, but he still did not trust Xemnas completely. When he faded away, Tex did nothing except smirk a tiny bit to himself. "Xemnas, I do hope you find what you seek in this Realm of Dreams. For now though, I must return to the waking world, then to the normal flow of time." With that, Tex would float gently in the air and explode into light, thus waking himself form his sleep. The Dream that Tex had created slowly faded away, until there was nothing left there. Tex immediately awoke inside his bed all tucked in and leaped up. He gathered his things and immediately walked out of the area, to the beachhead hoping to avoid Lightning. When he arrived at the beachhead, he looked at the vast ocean and sighed. He did not want to leave yet, he wanted to stay with Lightning and learn more, but he had duties. He had a war to return to, to protect the things he loved. Tex immediately summoned his sword and began channeling massive amounts of light into it, to do something drastic. He needed to leave now and since Tex would likely not get permission to do so, he needed his own way out. After storing the light for a few more minutes, he slashed at the ground and formed a rift in space/time that was a one way ticket. He had intended to open a corridor of light, but the properties of this world must have interfered. "Goodbye Lightning..." Tex was about to walk into the portal after muttering this with tears leaking from his eyes, when Lightning came from behind him and put a hand on one of his shoulders. She did not mutter a word to Tex, only whispered to him to stay here. "Lightning, you know I can't do that now. I had a dream last night, I need to go back. There are things I need to do, to make sure this world and the rest stay safe. I am doing this for the people I care about, including you. I will miss you greatly, but one day I will find a way to return here. I swear it Lightning, on my honor." Lightning then released Tex's shoulder and began walking away from him. After Tex felt his shoulder freed, he began crying to himself and walked through the portal, leaving Vahalla. "Tex, thank you...for everything." |
