Quest for Audino

Ariel walked along the path, rain spattering on her head in short bursts. Soon she would be completely drenched, but that would not stop her. She planned to find an Audino or a Tauros, capture it, and then defeat all other Pokemon she could find. Her Sneasel, Haarlem, seemed to like that plan very much. Between escaping the deranged boy and rescueing the Pichu, Haarlem was worn out. He had been looking forward to training and battling in Kalamar. Ariel had felt the same.

Upon arriving on a crossroads, where the path split in four, Ariel stopped to think. If she had more pokemon, she could send Haarlem to scout ahead. But with no Pokemon, she would be unprotected from the more aggressive Pokemon. She wouldn't want to run into a Snubbull or a rarer, but more dangerous, Heracross. No, that would not do at all. They simply had to take it slowly.

The reason she wanted an Audino was simple, for defense purposes. She already had one offense Pokemon, her Sneasel Haarlem, and she needed a defensive one to cancel Haarlem out. She already had a nickname picked out, Aram. It was a weird name, but simple. Ariel liked it. And, another thing was that Audino was neither a Fighting or Grass Pokemon. Haarlem despised them both. And through a Tauros would be a very good addition to her team, though it was rare, Ariel would much rather have an Audino.

Now, with her only Pokeball and no money, she had foolishly set forth to begin her adventure. Well, she had had only one chance to escape from her mothers tightening hold. If she had not taken that chance she would still be back at home looking out the window at Pokemon she could never meet or interact with.

But that was then, this is now. She thought. It is time for a new beginning, and It starts with capturing an Audino.

Nixius was wandering about the outskirts of the town wearing his long sleeved shirt and the usual laboratory coat and holding an umbrella to protect himself from the severe weather that he had gotten from the professor back at the laboratory. He had been sent there by the professor to observe the pokemon, whether it was material to write for another thesis he did not know. He wondered when he may finally one day get his own laboratory and start researching that which he found interesting. After a good hour of wandering around in the rain, with the gusts of wind and the sound of thunder somewhere far away he had gotten quite far from where he had initially started his observations. But he knew the way back to town seeing as he was pretty near to the crossroads, though what laid beyond the roads he did not know... It'll be okay if he just went a bit further on... right?

As soon as he had begun to move away, suddenly a blue eyed pink colored pokemon just leaped out of its hiding spot. He then observed the pokemon silently as he took out a notepad and pen and started describing the pokemon so that he may question the professor about it at a later time. With that, he had left for the crossroads. The pokemon of course realized Nixius pretty fast and ran away as soon as he lifted his body up after taking his notepad and pen back into his pockets. He had noticed a girl over by the roads. He wondered if he should start messing with her to kill off some time...? Nobody was around to prevent him from doing so, for now he'll just stand still behind her. If she doesn't realize he's there, he'll mess with her. If not, then he might ask her if she needs help or something. He wondered if luck will smile to him or to her.

The weather was terrible. Huge gales of wind ripped through the treetops, tearing off large limbs and littering the ground with twigs. The rain came down in sheets, drenching everything without relent. Lightning flashed nearby, blinding anyone foolish enough to stare straight at it. The following thunder rumbled with a large roll, shaking the very ground beneath you, rattling your bones.

Most Pokemon were hiding in their burrows in this weather, saving themselves from the rough weather. Every now and then one would flit across your field of vision, but not long enough for you to catch more than a vague shadow, occasionally a fur color. Nothing really looked like the Pokemon you were searching though.

Ariel continued to get lost in her own thoughts, ignoring the person not too far away and the storm rumbling overhead. 'Which way should we go, Haarlem?' Haarlem didn't reply, as he was steadily was watching the man. 'Snea-?' Haarlem glared at the man, pulling on his Trainer's jean leg.

Ariel glared down at him. 'What is it, Haarlem? I told you, we're not leaving untill we catch an Audino, even though the storm is coming. You can-' She stopped, looking up at the boy. 'What do you want?' She tried to ask as kindly as she could, but it still sounded mean. She put her hands on her hips and glared at him, Haarlem mimicking her.

Nixius continued to stand still while protecting himself from the rain with the black colored umbrella, he was only gonna give her a few more seconds to realize that he was there until he had decided that he'd mess with her. However the sneasel had notified her of his presence; so much for that he thought. As he had planned earlier, he would help her if she required any assistance of him. However as soon as he opened his mouth in order to make a nice self-introduction of himself and to inquire if she might have any problems she had interrupted him rudely. She had asked him what he had wanted rather rudely and even glared at him. The sneasel that copied her wasn't making the situation any better. Nixius had thought that he should mess with them a little, as a lesson not to be rude to him.

He had gotten closer to the girl and a meter away from her, he had bend over closing in on the gap. His face being awfully near hers as well, he had a smirk on his face with his eyes fully open. Gently he asked her...

I wonder how you'll scream.

Your conversation was cut short by a bolt of lightning that struck not fifteen feet away from where you stood. The ground shook, sending both of you to your knees. A large shape came flying out of the nearby trees, circling below the thunderclouds and letting out a god-awful shriek. It had a large wingspan, coloured black and yellow. In fact, it looked and almost behaved like... a Zapdos!

But alas, as the thought even crossed your mind, the figure swooped down and landed at your feet. "Hallo!" the woman said brightly, her short blonde hair plastered to her forehead. "Crikey! What a storm!" she slipped the hang glider, fashioned to look like Zapdos wings, off of her back, and after a bit of difficulty, managed to fold it into a size small enough to slip into her backpack. Two Emolga detached themselves from either side of her jumpsuit, which was also yellow and black, and began to chatter to themselves in Pokespeak, obviously happy.

"So what are you lot doing out in a storm like this?" she asked, unzipping her jumpsuit and slipping out of it, ignoring the rain around her. "I mean, I know I have my thrill issues, but what's your excuse? You're not even climbing metal buildings!"

Ariel ignored him, and looked at the woman. ‘Well, I was looking for an Audino,’ She paused to look up. ‘Before the rain really started.’ She pulled her hood up, feeling sad. ‘Rain makes me super sad.’ Haarlem nodded his head, still glaring at the strange man. When he realized it didn’t affect him, he settled for examining his claws. All he had wanted was to get this over with and train. Now, that didn’t seem like happening. What with the storm and all.

Haarlem pulled on his trainer’s leg again, signaling it was time to go. Ariel ignored him, looking at the man as if she just realized he was still there. ‘Why are you still here?’ She asked, still not feigning politeness. She figured if she wasn’t going to see a person again, they won’t remember her. She wasn’t too mean anyway, she was just a stick-it-to-the-point person. She liked to keep things simple, so she could get on her way.
