Nottingham Forest owner and chairman Fawaz Al Hasawi has issued the following statement. I would like to place on record my gratitude to Stuart Pearce for all his endeavours during his time as manager of Nottingham Forest. My decision to relieve Stuart of his duties is the hardest footballing decision I have ever made. I came to that decision after a long conversation with Stuart about the best next step for the club. Unfortunately, recent results convinced me it was best to pursue alternative managerial options. I hope our supporters understand my decision. Stuart is someone I have always admired and that will never change. For that reason I have offered him an advisory role at the club, which I sincerely hope he accepts so we can all move forward together. Thank you all for your continued support. |

Can't say that it has not been coming, managers live and die by results and Pearce was given more time than most to turn it round, if there had just been signs of some improvement the axe might have been stayed, but there was none in fact things were getting worse, as for Freedman well lets see shall we befor everyone gets on his back, it seems strange that all the people that were saying managers should be given time and a chance suddenly want Freedman out befor he as even got behind the desk,at least give the man a chance he might just fit as McClaren did at Derby

Judging by the furora online, the same people who were shouting for Pearce's head are now refusing to get behind the new man. I think we'd be better off without those people. |

A sad day but inevitable SP had been given lots of rope but hung himself with his poor team selection, strange formations, abysmal use of subs, questionable loan signings, dreadful results and loyalty to his woeful assistants. If I never hear the names Eastick and Wigley again it will be too soon. As for Doo-gie my lasting impressions of him as a player for us was him always getting 1 or sometimes 2 chances in the final minutes of most home game to rescue a point or win the game only for our number 14 to blaze wildly over the bar. On the plus side he has experience at this level so lets give him a chance. |
