Did Fergusson have Forest talks?

Peterborough's director of football Barrry Fry has startlingly claimed that the Posh boss Darren Furgusson DID have summer talks with the (then) possible new Forest owners the Al Hasawi family this summer.

In an interview aired on Radio Nottingham today, Fry claims that the unsettling talks also cost the Posh two potential signings. And Fry also claimed that Ferguson did not seek permission from Posh chairman Darragh MacAnthony before speaking with representatives of the Kuwaiti consortium.

Fry claimed in the interview : “I discovered that Darren had two meetings with Forest in the summer without the permission of the chairman and it was an unsettling period for the club.

“I was trying to sign players for the club who wanted to play for us mainly because Darren was the manager. They had heard he might be leaving so we lost out on those players.

“Gianni Paladini (former QPR chairman) was involved with the people trying to buy Forest at the time. He certainly met with Darren on the second occasion.

“The reality was they were having discussions about a job that didn’t even exist as Forest had a manager at the time anyway, It was disappointing at the time, but we’ve moved on now.”

Darran Furgusson has reacted furiously to the claims and has accused Fry of 'underhand tactics' and with 'trying to force him out of the club' He also revealed that he doesn't like working with Fry.

The timing of the interview will also be questioned by Posh Chairman MacAntony , who won't want to be reminded of Furgusson's previous acrimonious exit amid rumours that he was being headhunted by Hull City. On his twitter account MacAntony tried to play down the spat as just ‘typical arguments between employees in business’. : “Ah the joys of owning a football club sometimes! Posh fans calm down. Nobody going anywhere, storm in a teacup, no midnight statements.

“I will deal with this in best manner for our football club. All my energies are invested in helping our team push upwards from our current position.

“Arguments happen between employees in every business. It’s just a shame in ours that it plays out in the public eye. This will be the last time!

I'm sure I've read somewhere that Ferguson said himself he had talks with representatives of potential new owners of Forest, but can't find the lnk anywhere though I'm sure it was on the BBC website somewhere.

He said that because they were only potential owners he didn't feel the need to tell his chairman. He also stated that his relationship with Fry was a very thin one and basically just puts up with him because he is director of football.

I do follow the general consensus that I am pretty damn pleased we didn't appoint him.
