Gently opening the invisible door behind the throne that lead from her sleeping quarters, Alodia stepped out and took her place on the throne. She was really not in the mood for this but would have rather just be enjoying the hot summer night. It was always a relief to feel her cold skin being warmed but down here in the dark it was cold. Not that she minded it, but sometimes it got tedious. She flexed the elegant fingers of her right hand once and as she shifted the heavy material of the purple robes crackled a protest as a tiny jolt of static electricity was let loose. The robes were a tradition that she had been warned of breaking despite how she felt them unnecessary. She would rather be in her normal atire than the throne clothes any day. Looking around the room she wished that there were windows but as it was in the center of the grand building they would have been no use. Dimly she wondered where her guard was but suspected that they were outside. She couldn't go anywhere with out them and this was sometimes annoying but before it had saved her from being assassinated. That was a memory she hated, the night that a member of the guard gave up their life for her. It didn't seem right. |

The dark and beautifully gloomy castle had been fixed upon him.The knowledge that there Ruler would be in the Throne room to show her power and authroity was a more comforting news.He had been sent to be her first Guard for the endless day, protecting her at all costs. While his comrades swanned in the sun, he would rather knee before there empiress,to prove his honesty and loyalty towards her. Swiftly, Alaric moved elegantly through the halls, the darkness over powering as no light escaped through the blackness. His hand grasped at the message he had been sent only minutes ago.Flicking his wrist, the parchment was left to swirl to the ground in a uncaring act. His lips parted,as he entered. His sleek brown hair, falling down into his eyes.He walked, softly, for a man so well built and rough looking. The Throne room, was more in darkness then the other rooms in the castle.Gently bending, to kneel on one knee, his eyes looked up to Alodia, but remained to stare at the unseeable stone flooring at his feet. |

Alodia nodded to signal that he could rise. It still amazed her that people did that and never got old. Glancing around she wondered where her guard, Alaric, would stand. It always seemed that they would stand in different places. Probably because they got bored as well. She didn't show anything of her thoughts on her face but stayed more like a stone statue, unmoving. Her orbs were fixed on the door at the other end of the room hoping that there would not be another five hours of just sitting before she could get out like it had been for the past week. She almost longed for someone to come through the doors with some news, even if it was bad. But what she wished for most that someone would find the entrance to the rebels lair. That would be divine. Then the vampires could claim complete dominance over the country and perhaps move on to others. Conquering the world would be sweet. |

His shadowed features, lifted from there fixed position on the floor. His head bowed low once more, with a more pleasurable look in his eyes. With her signal, he rose from his one kneed position, rising to hold a strong and elegant frame. The room was large, spreading the black across each and every piece of stone.Alaric rose to his full height, stepping to stand beside the throne. He had camaflagued himself in the shadows reflecting from the magnificant throne before him. Alaric, had noticed the dissappointed look in his Ruler's eyes. His only want was to serve her, although his feelings wouldn't be known, his desire would be news from his companions. For now, his frame stood furm, his one view of the whole room, gave his charge a better out look. |

Figuring that there would be no news that day, her orbs flicked to the wall to the left of her. It looked blank but there was something that lay behind it that should remain hidden from the majority of the population. Thoughtfully her blue orbs flecked with grey looked around the rest of the room and came to rest on her guard. Could she trust him? she asked herself. He had always been reliable and wasn't one to gossip. Believing he could be trusted she slid neatly onto her feet. The dark fabric made no sound as it swept across the floor but in its wake was left a cackle of static energy. The same energy sent tiny electric currents around her slender ankles. It only took five long strides to reach the point of wall she had been looking at and considering its contents. Reaching out her fingers and pressing them against the wall she heard a soft click and her hand jerked forwards. Keeping pressure on the wall she moved them to the side and a small opening was revealed. The first time she had found this secret compartment ideas had whirled around her think box as she thought of what to put in it. But only one thing stood out to her. The maps. They were maps of the mountains that the lair of the rebels were rumored to be. She had put them there so that she could develop a plan to find the entrance but had never felt secure to look at it so far. She wondered why she felt that she could now. Pulling them out of their hidy hole, she tucked them under her arm and closed the space. There was no inclination that it had ever been opened but she still checked. She strolled over to the table in front of the throne and spread the detailed maps across its length before sitting down once more.Time for work. |

Alaric was fixed in his almost absent position. His enigmatic eyes swollowing every inch of the room, but with constant swift movements towards there gifted Ruler.Like most Vampires, he knew nothing of the way of the castle. It wasn't his duty to let his mind wonder onto unimportant matters. With his arms firmly resting on each side, the layers of his thick and armered clothing pressed against his colourless skin.Of course, he was trustworthy, more then he could stay for others.Traitors and scum in the Ruler's presence, the very thought of it made the multicoloured veins rise to penitrate the suspicious and vile air. His largened pupils, increased.Although he couldn't escape the longing to follow Alodias steps, his toughed skin remained absorbing the new view. The light from the corridor beyond seeping through with a battle. Alaric had never unlocked the secrets that had be crafted into each room of the castle. He had been uncaring to the mysteries etched into it's lining. But curiousness creeped over him, like any man, vampire, free spirit. His trust within the Vampire Ruler, must of been higher then his comrades.Of course his ego rose an inch in his chest.A willing step, was his first movement. But standing almost elegantly in his appearance, with his torso hovering high above the arm of the throne.Although, his expression gave off his astonishment, his facial features marked over the emotion. He wasn't here to shw his feeling or emotions.Only to care for Alodia needs and safety. The plans to explose the rebel camp had been taken place for months, and yet there was still no fedback or results on the situation.Tension and annoyance had been extracted in the form of distance looks and irritated comments. He was not one to comment on his feelings. The battle ahead was only for the high authority members to decide.Alaric's eyes closed in on the scrolls pasted across the dark marble table centimetres away.He took this moment to act, by taking another heart felt step forward. |

Sensing rather than seeing the movement, her eyes darted away from the battered scrolls and rested on her guard. Quick thoughts ran through her head and once suprised her but that one she buried. But it didn't stop the motion. With a slight movement of her head she indicated that he come over. She wasn't to sure why she had done that but reasoned with herself that he might be able to give constructive ideas on where the rebels were and how to get at them. Without waiting for any indication that he would come over Alodia went back to the map and her orbs fixed on a few old houses. She doubted that anyone would live there but they would be a good place to hide from he sun on a stakeout. They could be useful but they would have to adapt them a little. A thoughtful expression crept onto her features and took their hold there. She almost forgot about her guard but there was always a lingering presence there but it didn't bother her. She felt safe, always felt safer in his presence than any of the other guards. The finding of the rebel camp was definitely something that she felt he could be trusted with. |

His patience had been over worked, while he waited for the indication from there most gracious Ruler, allowing him to examine the scrolls that had newly been placed on the fitting table. Some how managing to increasing the elegance in the room. From the borderlines there was no mistaking the glint in her vivid eyes, thinking, constanting thinking on the possiblities on who she could trust; traitors couldn't help the matter, only damage it further. His services were clearly expressed in the force of his steps towards her.His experience in the art of warfair and battle would indentify ideas on how to bring the rebel lair closer in there, the Vampires, grasp.A treat they all would love to seek.Alaric gave a silent stride, his sphere's of pure brown lingering on the maps an inch away. His fingertips had been brought from his side to cling lightly onto the ancient parchment infront of him.His pale skin seemed to shiver, being so close in Alodia's presence. Pressure and comforting adoration was on the tips of his shoulders. The longing to find the Rebels hideout ceaped through every muscle in his tall frame.A operation that would please Alodia. |

Alodia stared at the map, seeing every crevasse, every sink hole as a possible entrance to the rebel lair. They could be anywhere and she had no idea how they should narrow their search other than a stakeout and that was unwise. It might put the animals onto their scent and they generally did not come out at night. But maybe one of them would get stupid. After all, they were human. She was slightly suprised when her guard reached the table. The existence of him had almost faded from her memory as she became engrossed in the maps but not quiet. It would never fade from her mind. What do you think Lyrics rose slightly with the question as she took a step to the side still staring at the map with a slight frown. |

His expressions had produced with a more worthy glow knowing that he was one of the only Vampires in the royal guard to be trusted with an opinion of Alodia's strategies for a crucial battle they had been untaking for many years. His service had grown into a tender fingertip on what was a piece of history. The maps gave a important role to the scenery in the Throne Room, as well to the atmosphere turning from civil to frustrating.Removing his noble fingers from the delicate material, gliding to remain back at his side. For he was the ruler's guard, nothing more, nothing less. These matters were not his concern, unless in her protection.Alaric atempted to shake his wild gaze from her, from the maps, yet the invisible glue kept them there. He hadn't expected her graceful self to be suddenly shocked by his intrusion on the opposite side of the table. The maps interested him intensely, hearing her voice, seemed to cause more confidence in his voice. His sterdy stance signified his loyalty, his views on the subject lining his pale lips."They would seek to try to be more intelligent then us, my lady.Starving them out would be starving ourselves. Our enermies true to see into our souls, but the darkness is our advantage."Alaric said, proudly standing. |

Alodia listened to what he had to say on the subject, while staring at the map. She considered the words for a while wondering if Vampires were indeed the most intelligent race. There was no denying that they were the more superior. I doubt they would be stupid enough to go out at night. But it would give us a time to set up base and they are likely to slip up at some point. Her orbs travelled quickly over the map, trying to spot the best places to set up base. There were a few likely looking buildings but before they could be used they would have to be converted to keep out the sun, but so that they could still see out. She wasn’t sure how they could do that. What they needed was for someone to research both human and vampire records for any material that would work well. The best that she could think of was the modified glass or plastic that the livestock used for sunglasses but that only stopped the sun for a few seconds. It was not powerful enough to protect them fully from the sun. In the past someone had tried to coat themselves in the thing the humans called ‘sunscreen’ but that had ended with flames and a lot of screaming. The rest of the room around her went fuzzy as she concentrated on the map. It just looked so bare. The only places that they could set up base were close together and it left a lot of the barren land out of even a vampire’s sight and if they built something knew it would be obvious. She placed her hands on the table and leant back slightly, wondering if anything else would come up by looking at the map from a different angle. She doubted it but it was worth a risk. Heck, there were a lot of things she would risk to see the complete destruction of the rebels. |

It was only right that Alodia had her fall attention on the map, it was a slight ting of longering that brought him to tense at the sight of the tracks and twisting roads that had been highlighted on the map itself. It seemed so alive, with the painted marking of mounts and housing that they were sure had been placed there for a reason or in which case they had build them there thereselves. There was no question that there higher achknowledgement of nature around them, caused them to see more then just land they owned and liven in.It was the secrets and the points at which the rebels might be grouping that they were most interested in.As the phrase went, keep your friends close, but your enemies closer. Her voice hit his ears with a heart breaking notion, he listened to her every word, knowing only that she was correct in everything she chose to utter. His brown eyes scanned the map from anything that he could entertain the quietness of the room with, or at least impress there Vampiric Ruler a little more then he had been achieving. There weaknesses had always been a problem for them and night couldn't always be there only option, the human's would, now, sense how they would act. They needed more.Something else. Alaric's mind travelled over the map, sinking into every crack and every sink of the material. There constructors hadn't created anything that would indeed prevent the sun's rays from burning them alive. They needed scientists, or whatever the humans called there inventors. But it was out of the question to order a human to do this work, it had been done before and a traitor the person had become. He merely tried to think of something else that would cut through the silence. |

Alodia stood up straight and took a step back; she was at a total loss at what to do. They needed things that they didn’t know existed to do the impossible. In her mind she ran of a list of vampires that were considered the brightest and most creative. What they needed was one with both qualities in the high. Maybe they could invent something that blocked out the suns rays but still enabled them to see. It could make them unstoppable and this thought highly appealed to her but no one with the capabilities came to mind. Though she knew that there would be someone out there who could do this. They just needed to show themselves and get a little push in the right direction. She glanced sideways at Alaric, trying to determine what he was thinking about. It was always easier with humans. There thoughts were often plastered on their faces but with vampires it was harder, but not impossible. She studied him thoughtfully but her mind drifted away slightly from tying to work out what he was thinking, she had come to a dead end there. Instead she started thinking about how good he was at his job and how she could see him as a friend. He was definitely one of the vampires she would call trusted. After a few moments she turned back to the map knowing that it was probably unlikely that they would find anything more. Maybe they should start sending out parties to scower the land in more detail. There wouldn’t be too many that were willing to do this though. Many felt that they should just leave them alone (most of them used to be human), they felt that there should still be some left in the wild. She found this highly amusing, in the past humans had said it about other animals. The tables had turned on them. |
