Pandora flopped onto the comforts of her bed. Curls caressing white cloth. The stench of blood hit her nostrils, straining red across her pillow from her last visit. She shivered in delight. The dim lighting teased her eyes as fingers fumbled to unleash the blazing of fire on a depressing candle nestled atop a steel tray. She slipped off her dress of starlet switiching it with a black laced nightdress.

It was quieter than it had ever been in the small confined space. Usually Pandora frantically blocked windows with old sheets to stop the winds howls being heard or in worse causes she had been attacked in the day while she slumbered by a friend. The silence was quite off putting, Pandora spreading her body across the the mattress. It had obviously had better days. weaking at the sides and squealing from lack of oil on springs. She rolled about the bed hoping for heavy eyelids to plummet into the world of dreaming but no motion happened. *Maybe it's the light* she mumbled groaning as she reached over to extinguish it. The flame flickered on the crumbling plaster work, the stone similar to her uncapable of gathering warmth. Pandora pulled a violet quill to her chest, resting her eyes to darkness. "OOOOOH..." She whined raising herself and crossing her legs.

Dormitories...they all looked the same, they all felt the same. And the darkness of them didn't help with the fact that Blade was lost. Not like she slept much. She hadn't even slept on her bed that was in her room, she just remained on the floor, like she had slept all her life. Why hadn't she plucked up the courage to sleep on it. It looked comfy, better than a dusty cold floor. Rolling her eyes she walked down the corridor, trying to get her bearings...must be close...mustn't I? Her brown hair tossed and turned across her face as she frantically searched for her room. She was infact quite tired. But she could be awake forever...the only thing she wouldn't do is give up and sleep in the corridor like some homeless person...
Her tatty brown boots clinged across the floor as the chain had broken on them years ago. She rubbed the dust and dirt off of her skirt and pulled a strap that was hanging off her shoulder of her top. How could she had got in such a mess when all she did was go outside for some fresh air?

The whole place was quite....too quite for Blade. She liked at least some talking, to know that someone was there. She walked past a door and could see a faint glow coming from it, candle glow perhaps. She rolled her eyes. Not my room. She was getting bored of this hide and seek game. She was about to walk away when she was halled to an abrupt stop. A sound, coming from the room where she had just stood outside. More like a whine than a joyful sound. What was going on inside there? Surely a servent couldn't be in there? She was curious now. She hesistated but slowly, she opened the door, knowing that it was a bad thing when she saw Pandora sitting on her bed, wrapped in a violet quilt. She rolled her eyes and sighed, silently kicking herself for entering the room of the person who seemed to hate her guts.

"Hello Pandora." She faked a smile, and almost sing songed as she remained in the doorway. She only hoped that the shock of her entrance would keep her quite, long enough for Blade to think of a "Pandora buying excuse".

The arrival of the girl pushed Pandora from the deeps of her bed. The abrupt entry gave her no warning, no suttle hint that the silence of the room would be broken by another person not including herself. She had already acomplished that one. A simple knock what have surficed.Feet stumbled onto a thinning rug. It's white threads beared the pressure of everyday usage. The sudden yurn for sleep dragged her back to the warm quilt mentally. It would be rude to even suggest the dismissal of Blade from her room. Maybe they had been moment between the two of them which they would hate to return to but that was in the past.

Pandora drapped a hand over a silk dressing grown looming over her wooden fortress designed to be a bed. She pulled the garment swiftly over shoulders and wrapped it tightly around her middle before closing the distance between her and Blade. "It seems you've saved me from the torture of sleep." Pandora smiled, re- lighting the candle with a match lost in her pocket.

Looking Pandora up and down she saw the agony in her face of how bad she had wanted to get to sleep. Blade sighed and didn't move from the position where she stood, ontop of a mat that looked like it had had its better years. She shifted slightly, not wanting to be here, wanting to find her own room and get her head down. She turned around and knew there was a chance of leaving, but then, she looked back at Pandora, as she spoke.

"It seems you've saved me from the torture of sleep."

Blade laughed, more like a mocking laugh. Oh how many response she could use, to wind Pandora up. Sure they hated each other, Blade hated how Pandora was the pretty one, the one that everyone probably liked. She was like a goody goody, and Blade was the misfit, bad attitude problems, and probably got on everyone's nerves. She sighed, how to respond? She knew that she looked a mess.

She wanted to say, "Shame I'm in the torture of being in the same room as you." But knew that that was a little rude. She forced a fake smile and said,

"Glad I could help." She then removed that smile and just glared at the pretty girl wrapped in violet.

The blaze of candlelight toke Pandora off guard. Eyes winced as tears hurtled down pallid cheeks. The normal tilt of her head had ceased her train of thought somehow distracted by the presense of Blade. Fingers jolted towards half closed eyes briefly to relieve the unwanted flow. Pandora wondered back into full view considering where to place the visitor. Clothes had been throw across the place, drapped across the single chair which shuffled from side to side if made to hold extra weight. Boxes and bags covered most of the carpet space containing usual treasures she had keep for years. Dust lingering on the open window sill and gripping the velvet curtains.

"It's really hot in here..." Pandora whipped the curtains out of place to reach the window, in the process coughing on dust. The stars coiled around the moon. She tilted her head back round a smile brushed across her face. "Look at it out there! Natures wonders..."

Blade narrowed her eyes and she adjusted to the light, and also glanced at the tears rolling down Pandora's face. Why on earth was she crying? Blade hadn't even spoken much, so she couldn't have upset her with her words. Before she could get caught looking at her, Blade looked around Pandora's room. It was a mess, clothes disgarded everywhere. But it was a pretty place, colors matching, perfect...just like the owner. She wondered what lived in the many boxes and bags placed around the room, but thought it would be rude to go rumaging around in her belongings.
"It's really hot in here..."
To be honest, Blade didn't feel warm. Infact, unlike most vampires, she could feel the chill of many places...but that may be because of her father's gene that hid inside of her. As Pandora whipped the curtain open, dust flew around the room. She heard her cough, what a silly person, anyone could have seen the dust. Blade would have simply opened the curtains slowly. Blade moved to the window, but kept her distance from the woman. She looked outside up to the stars. She had spent many days as a child simply looking up at the stars, making patterns and wishing upon them. The wishes never came true.
"Look at it out there! Natures wonders..."
Blade bit her lip and couldn't contain her laughter.
"Oh yes, the wonderful trees, the wonderful animals, all killing eachother for no apparent reason. Take the trees away and you've got another Blood Farm." Sometimes Blade couldn't resist a bit of sarcasm, especially when she wasn't in the mood to socialize.

Her effort to play nice vampire had ceased after the echoing sarcasm from the nearby girl. Blade was the one that approached the door and entered. She was the one who wondered in almost uninvited. Pandora being as patience as she was let her guest in miffed at why she had ended up at her door in the first place. They may not have been on good terms but that was no reason to mock. Harsh words could be forgotten, thrown out of exsistence but only if the beholder could stop the past haunting them.

Were they magnets destined to repel each other?

A pale hand twitched on the browned window sill. Within it consealed the anger triggered by the visitor. Each finger stabbed at the stone displaying their true feeling. Eyes jolted back to the window. "Each creature only eats their fill like you or I but the balance can be broken as you most rightly said." she uttered lis drawing back their smile. This wasn't going to be a battle, Pandora had no energy for it.

Blade wondered why she had a hatred for the pratically stranger she stood infront of. They didn't know eachother, didn't know the pasts that build them...so why hate her so close to meeting her? And if she felt the same way towards her, why was she so open in letting Blade stand in her territory. She thought about turning around and letting Pandora get on with her night, without having someone intrude...but she was so fired up, that she liked winding her up. She laughed, inside ofcourse.

"Each creature only eats their fill like you or I but the balance can be broken as you most rightly said."

Pandora stated...what a know it all. Like the circle of life, animals must fight and kill in order to live.

"YAWN! Jeez Pandora...if I wasn't tired I would be now talking to you. No offense but you kinda drag on and on and oooon." Blade loved it...she sensed that Pandora wasn't up for a fight...which fueled Blade into having one...because she knew that she had more of a chance of winning.

Disregarding hateful words into dark shadows lingering in corners Pandora thought briefly. There must be a deeper problem which the girl stood before her chooses to hide. It lurks beneath, maybe damaging her judgement. This battle couldn't be just about annoyance or about attitude. Your past shouldn't lay out your future. She would never know what stimulated this hate which Pandoras had incountered in small doses.

Pandora turned from the window sill. Natural curls of brown waved around her cheeks sheilding emotions beared. She slipped across the room, all attention drawed on a frame. Photo frame. Its glass protected images of close relatives. A finger dipped for the metal pulled the object close.

She had no heart of a vampire. Any other would stay and fight. Maybe the disappearance of her beloved brother tore all pride and selfesteem from her grasp. Confidence boosted by little faces and smiles Pandora glimpsed back at Blade. "If you do not wish to be civil then leave but if there is a chance of pleasant conversation then stay." She uttered calmly. A jagged nail upon her finger gestured to the door. Her face become empty whilst waiting for Blade's decision.
