Previously...(( sounds like a tv series))

When Blade jumped as he leaned close, he thought she might yank away from him, suddenly regain her senses. It wouldn't have been a surprise. He had seen it happen before. Vampires he spoke with would catch themselves becoming too friendly or too comfortable and then they would suddenly stiffen again. Some even turned violent once their guard was up again. He wondered how long that would take for Blade . . . or if it would happen at all. Whenever that would happen, Daxton didn't know, but it wasn't now. Instead of becoming ridged, as he had expected, she relaxed more. He was a bit startled at this reaction, though not displeased. He was tempted to bring her closer, wrap his arms about her form instead of just letting his hands rest on her arms, enfold her in danger's embrace. He wondered how far she would let him go, how trapped she would be, before her reason flared and she resisted. He wanted to find out, but didn't to draw her closer. He resisted that temptation . . . for now, anyways. There would be time enough for that later.

Once they were walking again, Daxton released a deep breath and shook his head inwardly. He was so close to his goal for that night. Or, at least he thought he was. His only goal for that night had been to find a place to stay for a while, but now that he had the opportunity to learn more, the bar had been raised. He could find a place to stay in the Blood Farm for a while with Blade and he could gain information at the same time. Things were turning out to be better than expected. He only hoped that trouble would avoid them this night . . . though it was foolish to do so. Daxton frowned when he heard her answer about a place to go. Go where their feet took them? Her answer sure wasn't helpful. He knew that any place with vampires was bound to be cold, as cold as their hearts and souls were, but he had hoped for perhaps a place inside to block the wind and a place that was . . well, discrete. It wouldn't do for other vampires to find a human and a vampire acting like . . . acting like what? Daxton wasn't sure how to finish the thought, so left it alone.

As they approached the Blood Farm Daxton let himself fall a step behind Blade as she sped up. He had found that it would do best for a human to walk behind a vampire, appearing as a servant, than beside one, as an equal. Daxton followed this code, despite how much he detested it. It was necessary if they were to avoid trouble. He glanced down at their linked hands and decided that it would also do best to let go of her hand once they entered the Blood Farm as well. How would that look if they were seen holding hands? An obvious answer came to mind: Not. Good. He wondered what else he could do to avoid trouble. Daxton figured that would all depend on how many vampires were out and about that night, and how many would notice his odd scent. She stopped at the door and Daxton met her icy gaze with a rather indifferent one of his own.

"Promise me that you won't do anything stupid."

Daxton almost laughed, but only allowed the corners of his lips to quirk up slightly. Stupid? He was already doing something stupid! What human that wasn't completely insane would willingly enter a place crawling with bloodsucking demons, the Heart of Hell, the Blood Farm? How could he make that promise when he was already braking it? Despite these thoughts, Daxton knew what she meant. She didn't want him to do anything that would look too unusual to her kind and she didn't want him to bring any danger to the residents of the Blood Farm. That was what she meant. The human returned her squeeze, to reassure her.

"Don't worry," he whispered as his free hand came up and lightly brushed a lock of her hair away of her eyes. He offered a small smile, before releasing her hand and motioning for her to lead him into the Heart of Hell. But before she could take a step something else came to mind and he lightly touched her shoulder. "I hope you have somewhere in mind, because it wouldn't do for us to walk around in the open for too long," he added, a note of concern ringing in his voice.

.........................: :......................................

She sensed that he was going to move closer when he rested in her hair. She didn't want that to happen at all. No hugging...that would mean she would be trapped in his embrce. If that had happened she would definalty hit him. Not run away. She would take the chance to just hit him, just a slap. She laughed, mocking him as she imagined her hitting his unexpected face. She knew where to go now, now that she was stood outside the door, now that he had shown her that she was in charge, by standing behind her and walking behind her, not holding her hand no more. For if they walked inside the Blood Farm, holding hands, like...friends...Blade nearly choked when she thought this. How could a vampire be friends with a murderous revengeful human. No way would she let herself get killed. She would take him to the tunnels. The dark place hidden below the Blood Farm, for they could talk there...sit, learn, and hopefully, if things went to plan, Blade could stay alive.

She remembered what he had said outside the door, that he would promise not to do anything stupid. She knew what was going through his mind, that he was already stupid following someone who could possibly kill him, into a hell full of blood suckers. She saw his lips curve up, but didn't let him catch her staring at his lips. She giggled inside. Although what he said, "Don't worry", was a little too late. Blade was already worrying about what could happen once his feet stepped on enemy territory. Moreover, she was worried about her precious life. She was only young...if Daxton was a vampire, they would be the same age, not only was ehr life at risk, but her past was at risk of haunting her again if she had to take matters into her own hands.

She opened the door and quickly moved down the spiral staircase that led to the corridor, which led to the tunnels. This was the quickest way to the tunnels. The longest way meant having to go past lots of rooms...lots of vampires. She heard his footsteps close behind her but never turned around. She didn't speak to him either. Just led him to the tunnels. The tunnels would be cold, but then the coldness would feel warm against the coldness of the air outside. She felt that wearing the coat now would be pointless, and didn't want to even wear a dead vampires coat no more. She just pushed it off her shoulders and dropped it on the floor, and walked away from it. They came to a large steel door, and Blade gently pushed on the handle, and pushed it open. It was dark in the tunnels, but Blade knew where the light switch was for a hidden light, which was bright. She had spent many times in the tunnels, just hiding, thinking, this was her place. She had even dragged numerous furniture pieces down here from her room, she didn't spend much time in her room. There was seats here, food, everything. It was as if this was Blade's home...like an apartment. She turned around and smiled and Daxton, a small faint smile. Then she walked in, pressed the light, and kicked her shoes off into the distance. The tunnels were dampish, but Blade had spent a long time cleaning the place, touching up the paint, and adding mats in and making it warm. Oh how her feet needed to be free from her boots. Even though now, she was smaller than Daxton, not like that made any difference. She was always small against everyone...and less pretty. Her hair was a mess, and her skirt and top were muddy from falling over earlier. She hated the fact that people like Tuule and Pandora were always the pretty ones.

She sat down on the sofa, a Black leather piece that could have had better years, but it was Blade's favourite, always comfier than any other thing Blade sat on. She needed to sit down, and sighed relief when she came into contact with the comfy material. She curled her legs up.

"Make yourself at home." She purred, not caring that she was being kind to Daxton, she was just glad to be "home".

Sbe didn't respond to his comment, but, he hadn't really expected her to. As long as it made her think of a place to go. When Blade opened the door and stepped inside, Daxton followed silently behind with his head bent downward slightly, just in case they passed any other vampires. He would hopefully look like nothing more than a servant with no choice but to follow his master. As they walked, his eyes glanced around cautiously and all his senses were on high alert. He was in the heart of enemy territory and he was more than just a little tense, although he didn't show it. Daxton noticed that Blade wasn't bad at falling into her own roll either. She played the silent, but confident master fairly well as they walked. He grimaced inwardly, figuring that most vampires could play that roll easily, since thats what they were by nature. He stepped quietly down the stares after her, unsure of where she was leading him. The corners of his lips curled up slightly. Probably to my grave, he thought bitterly, but then pushed the thought aside, reminding himself that he would not let himself be killed until he had done everything he possibly could to accomplish his ultimate goal. To save the world.

Daxton glanced down to the coat when it hit the damp floor. His brow frowned for a moment as he stepped passed the coat and continued on. He had no need of it anymore. Daxton already reeked of vampire. It would take a long time and many baths before the disgusting scent left him. Fortunately or unfortunately that was a good thing. He wouldn't be at as much risk if his scent was masked by that of a vampire. The boy stopped behind her as she pushed the door open and then stepped into the room. Daxton hesitated a moment, before following cautiously. Despite how tense he was with the whole situation, he didn't show it. In fact, he looked as relaxed and uncaring as ever. When the lights flickered on, Daxton blinked at seeing the furniture in the tunnel. He hadn't expected it to be so hospitable, almost as if someone lived here. It seemed that assumption was closer to the truth than anyone would have thought. He wondered why Blade had a place like this when there were dormitories in the Blood Farm. He shrugged inwardly as he decided that it really didn't matter.

Once his eyes had finished surveying the room, they turned to roam over Blade. Now that they were in the light, he could see her more clearly. Honestly, she really did look a mess. He wondered if she might want to clean herself up a bit, but didn't ask. Besides, where down in the tunnles would she be able to clean herself up? When she told him to make himself at home, he offered a warm smile. Home? He wondered how that was done. It had been a very long time since Daxton ever had a real home. Every once and a while he would return to the mountain hide out to recuperate, but that wasn't home. No where was.

He pulled a sleeve to the broad shouldered tank he was wearing back onto his shoulder, as it had fallen off because it was far too big to fit his thin frame as he stepped towards the couch. Daxton sat down beside her and smirked. "So . . . " he started as he glanced around the room once more. "I guess you come here often, hmm?" A soft chuckle rumbled in his chest. He guessed that most of everything in the room was done by her. It had a somewhat cozy feeling to it--or at least as cozy a feeling as there could be in a vampire's lair. With a sigh the human leaned back into the couch and crossed his legs, trying to relax a bit more. He guessed that this place was like Blade's own little hide out. The kind of place that most kids dreamed to have. But he wondered why should ever let a human into her sanctuary. Deciding that things were a little more at ease, now that she was back home, Daxton decided he could risk asking some more questions.

"This is a nice place," he commented, glancing around again. "Its nice of you to bring me here, but . . . I have to wonder why you would risk bringing a human to your home."

She watched him smarten himself up, pulling a sleeve on his top...the vampire's top considering it sagged on his chest and looked far to large for his smallish frame. Blade tensed slightly as he sat down next to her and she shifted closely to the arm of the couch, turning to face him. She could see him in full light now. His black full head of hair slightly messed up at the sides, and his fringe swept infront of his face, almost covering his greenish bluey eyes, which she could see fully now. She was taken aback by the purity in his face, how smooth his skin looked. Infact...it quite resembled a vampire's face. Blade couldn't hide a small smirk as she glanced at him, he was quite handsome to say the least, although...he was human.

She also couldn't hide the small yawn that escaped her mouth and she leaned back on the sofa. She grabbed her favourite purple pillow and placed it close to her chest. Why had she brought him here. She couldn't exactly have taken him to her room, for there was only a few things there, a bed and a nightstand, and a chair where she sat and gazed outside the window instead of sleeping. Blade never slept, only sometimes when she passed out with the lack of it. She didn't sleep ...nightmares came out when she closed her eyes. Nighmares about her mother, about her nights on the cold streets, about being found every night by humans and having to fight them...she was only young.

She looked at the human sat next to her. They were like him. There was one human that she thought was nice to her. He turned on her that very night she met him...she looked at her arm. There used to be a scar there...a huge scar. Blade had wished that it would go, and eventually it had. But the inside scars, the many of them, they could never heal. She looked at the table next to the couch, inside a silver frame was a picture of her as a baby, her brown hair otop of her chubby baby face, her icy blue eyes gleaming and her huge smile filling her face. Her eyes filled with tears and she quickly brushed them away, rubbing at her eyes. She looked back at Daxton with a forced smile.

"This is a nice place,"

She nodded and took the compliment, although it wasn't that nice, but it was the best that she could do in a dark place such as the Blood Farm.

"Its nice of you to bring me here, but . . . I have to wonder why you would risk bringing a human to your home."

Blade knew now that since they were here, deeper questions were going to be asked, and secrets would be revealed in the answers. She grinned at his question.

"So you are human then." A pearly toothy grin flashed at him. She was back...the true fiesty Blade.
"Let's just say I'm one of those girl's who love taking risks...."

Her turn for questions...and she wanted the first one to be answered straight away seeing as it had been plaquing her mind for god knows how long.

"Who was the vampire you killed?"

Daxton's gaze followed Blade as she yawned and then reached for a pillow. He didn't think he had ever seen a vampire yawn before. He guessed that was probably because all his other encounters with vampires were much more tense, so tense that some had ended in only blood and death. At the thought his hand came up and unconsciously rubbed at the side of his neck over where he had been bitten so long ago. The scars had long since faded, but sometimes he thought he could still feel the pain. He grimaced inwardly as he tried to push the thoughts away. When Blade looked away, at a picture resting on a table at the opposite end of the couch, Daxton thought he saw tears and then saw her brush them away, but he wasn't certain and so didn't mention it. He returned the forced smile she gave him, though his was a little more convincing than her own, being quite practiced at deception. He had to be practiced at it if he was going to live. It certainly helped to have extraordinary physical abilities to escape and defeat an opponent, but unfortunately Daxton didn't have any of those extraordinary abilitis, so he had to use his brain to win.

"So you are human then."

The boy stiffened slightly on the couch but then forced himself to relax again. He let his head rock back a little and he released a quiet laugh. "Of course," he answered, winking to her. He returned her toothy grin with one of his own. "You already knew that," he finished as he met her blue eyes. Her answer to his question made his grin widen slightly. Risks, huh? Well, then, she certainly liked taking dangerous risks if that was the reason she was allowing him into such a place. By her reaction, Daxton wondered if she had still been doubting about whether he was a human or not, but quickly decided that couldn't be the case, not with how close and how much they had touched since meeting. there was no doubt that she already knew, especially judging by her first reaction in taking him to the Blood Farm. She had been hesitant about it. If she had thought Daxton might be a vampire, it wouldn't have been such a big deal.

Next, she asked a question. His eyebrows rose at what she asked. Daxton's mind was racing for an answer that would satisfy her but keep him safe. Of course, he would tell her the truth. Daxton didn't like to lie, even though it was sometimes necessary. He would tell her the truth, but that didn't mean that he had to tell her everything. The boy shrugged slightly. "I don't know exactly who he was. I was out in the woods when I came across him." He remembered how stupid the vampire had been. A big, dumb oxe. It really wasn't Daxton's fault. If the vampire had been a little smarter, he wouldn't have died. His lips twisted into a 'painful' frown, as if he were sorry for the whole ordeal. "What could I do? He would have killed me if I hadn't killed him." That part was true. Daxton couldn't' hesitate when he met bloodsuckers like that one. The ones bent on having human blood. "He was out durring the day, and came into the sun after me. I just had to finish him off so he would come back after me tonight."

His eyes had averted to looking down at his hands clasped in his lap, as if the whole thing were just too much to tell while looking into her eyes. He figured this would be the best way to go about it, rather than tell it like he really felt. "I took his cloths because I thought they would hide my scent, so I wouldn't be in as much danger," he finished as he finally looked up to meet her gaze. The gun in his pocket was hot against his hip and thigh, but he tried his best to ignore it. With a sigh he brushed a lock of his dark hair from his face. "That's what happened. I'm uh . . . sorry if it was anyone you knew . . . ."

((sorry crappy post :( ))

She knew that he was looking at her when she was looking at her old picture. That meant that he would have seen her cry. She felt him move, probably rubbing his neck...does that mean that...no...he couldn't have been bitten could he? He had no scars? But that doesn't mean that he had been hurt once, Blade's scars had gone, apart from the ones that were hidden with clothes, didn't mean that she was pain free. Blade placed her hand on the arm and gripped the end tightly, her nails digging into the fabric. She looked at his smile, was it forced? Or pehaps he was good at hiding things, like smiles. Maybe that was his "get out of jail free" card.

She was pleased with herself that his reaction to her words were negative. She felt him stiffen on the couch, but then ofcourse he relaxed, for he was the guy that never showed any emotion, wasn't he?! As he winked at her she rolled her eyes and scoffed at him. Guys were all the same, she thought. All "I'm the best". She always thought of herself as smarter than them, and outwitted them. Even if her smart thinking didn't win, her skills in kick boxing could always help her out.

"You already knew that,"
Yeh ...coz I'm smart...she thought to herself and smiled. She was happy, but she didn't know why. And she wouldn't let herself think it was because she was finnaly being accepted...because she wasn't.

"Dax...why are you here? In a place full of people who could kill you like that." She snapped her long fingers. "Hell...even I could have killed you...but I didn't." She moved closer and crossed her legs, and whispered.

He still hadn't answered her question about who the vampire was that he had killed, but she knew that he would answer soon due to his eye brows raising and she saw him shrug. She braced herself, and hoped to hell that she didn't know the poor soul..although she didn't know many people here.
"I don't know exactly who he was. I was out in the woods when I came across him." She looked at him with empaphy in her eyes, knowing what it was like to have to take someone's life away."What could I do? He would have killed me if I hadn't killed him." Blade nodded and looked at the pain and sorry in his eyes. Why was he sorry? As if he didn't mean to kill the guy. But there could have been another way, he chose to kill the vampire. Blade had no other way when it came to her past. She had to kill the guys, she was young...so young."He was out durring the day, and came into the sun after me. I just had to finish him off so he would come back after me tonight." Blade looked at his lap, his hands clasped on them, she knew that his mind was racing with thoughts about his ordeal. And she knew that he was being haunted by them. She gently placed her hand onto his and stroked them with her thumb. She heard him sigh and brush a lock of hair from his face, and looked deep into his eyes, with her painful ones too. Why had his story brought back her nightmares, they were racing around in her mind at that very moment, and she was trying her hardest to fight them.
"That's what happened. I'm uh . . . sorry if it was anyone you knew . . . ."
She laughed an uneasy laugh.

"Hunni, I'm pratically a stranger here." Hunni slipped out, and her eyes widened when she said it, pratically throwing up inside.

The question she interposed between his answers almost made him smile. Almost. Why was he there? Why was he placing himself in danger and possibly death's grisly jaws? Why was he risking everything he had and surrounding himself by that which he feared above all else? He knew that any of the vampires could kill him without breaking much of a sweat if they really felt like it. He knew that Blade had had the ability to kill him. He also knew, that if she changed her mind about him, she still could. It wasn't that he was slow in the head, mad perhaps, but not slow. Even if he were mad, though, he was a madman with a purpose and no amount of reason would deter him from taking this jeopardous risk. The answer to her question was simple. He wanted more than anything to extinguish her race. Wipe them out. Not only did he want that, but he wanted to do it all himself. He wanted to watch every last bloodsucking demon suffer and experience the same, or even worse, agony than he did, before they each met their own gruesome, well deserved deaths. He hungered for it and the mere thoughts made him unconsciously wet his lips with his tongue.

The only problem was that he did not yet know enough to eradicate the entire vampire race. He still had trouble killing off just one. They were stronger and faster than he, being granted with supernatural, unfair advantages. Before Daxton could hunt the vampires effectively, he needed to learn more. He needed to gain more knowledge about their lifestyle, their habits, their personalities, their relationships, and most of all their weaknesses. He was developing a weapon that could hurt them. His gun, that still continued to burn quietly in his pocket, hidden from view. Even if it was advanced enough to hurt the beasts, it still could not kill them. He needed to make improvements to it when he gained enough knowledge, until he had the ability to render any vampire he wanted defenseless, just like they rendered humans, and then he would kill them slowly, for they did not deserve a quick death. This would all take time, but Daxton was a fairly patient person. He would wait and gather information. He was still young, and as long as he kept his wits about him, he would have enough time to see justice done.

Her response to his answering of her question about the vampire he had killed was better than expected. She seemed to understand his "torment" of killing the man in the woods . . . at least, understand the "torment" of the character he was playing now. The character of Daxton, the mysteriously alluring, but surprisingly innocent young man. Motivated by his will to succeed at his task, Daxton easily fell into the roll and played it convincingly. Daxton blinked, his blue-green eyes darting up to meet hers at the feeling of her touch on his hands. His first thought was to yank his hands away, disgusted by the touch of a vampire, but he didn't move a millimeter. He stayed where he was, letting her thumbs stroke them gently. After a couple moments of feeling the touch, Daxton was surprised to find the touch soothing, even if it was coming from a vampire. His nose wrinkled slightly at her troubled laugh.

"Hunni, I'm practically a stranger here."

His eyebrows rose slightly at the pet-name, but other than that he decided not to acknowledge it. Her expression told him enough to know that she regretted saying it. "A stranger, huh?" he mumbled, half to himself. His gaze remained focused on Blade, scrutinizing the details of her face as he thought about how to answer her other question. He figured that it would be safe to just give the same answer that he had given Tuule, but perhaps a little less. He hadn't lied to Tuule, in fact, he had told her the truth, but by the information he had given and the way he had said it, Daxton was sure she understood why he was really putting himself at risk. She was a smart girl, and he knew that he didn't have anything to lose by letting her find out. She was different from Blade. Curiosity had kept him alive when it came to Tuule, and Tuule's self-assurance had been enough to let him live even after knowing the dangerous facts. Daxton wasn't sure if Blade would be as lossless. When he had asked her why she was letting him live before, she hadn't known. Her emotions were more on display than Tuule's and he was sure she didn't have the same kind of confidence that Tuule had, even if it wasn't just in herself, but her race. He thought that if he told her, she might just kill him, or worse. No, he couldn't risk it. Daxton decided on the first answer he had given Tuule, but didn't want to hint at any more.

"My reason for coming here . . . ." he sighed, as he appeared to mull over the question, and banish his previous "painful," and "guilty" thoughts of killing the vampire. Daxton let his eyes wander up towards the ceiling as he pondered. After a couple moments his lightly colored eyes returned to Blade. "That would have to be because I want knowledge," he started, appearing a little more cheerful, now that they had moved onto a "less painful" topic. "I want to learn as much as I can about your kind." The corners of his lips quirked up ever so slightly before the small smile turned into a grimace. "The only problem, Love, is that it is difficult to get close enough to a vampire to learn without being attacked, killed or captured," he stated matter-of-factly. "Its just lucky that I meet vampires like you and Tuule every once and a while," he uttered, his voice taking on an appealing purr, sounding like velvet rubbed the right way. His form leaned a little closer to her as he continued, his tone maintaining the same smooth, seductive velvet quality, "you let me close enough . . . I wish you could understand how much that means to me." He whispered the last half to her.
