Well, I have never claimed to be a poet, at least, not until I realized I suck. But, I had to write one for the school newsletter and this is what I came up with. Please, be kind... Dusk By S. Hof The sun is out of sight, Leaving just a bit of light. The sleepy birds all settle down, Coaxed by a wolf's mournful howl. Stars begin to appear above the clouds, Everything is silent now; nothing makes a sound. A slight breeze stirs still air, A hunting owl stalks prey with a cold glare. The moon rises into the night, Flooding the forest with eerie moonlight. The wolf retreats from her den, Eager for the hunt as night begins again. Well, there it is. x.x |

My biggest hobby is writing. Well, it's more of an obsession. For about five years, going on six, I've known I want to write stories for a living. I want to be a fntasy/reality noevilst. I've been working on a book all year, and it's turning out really good, if I do say so myself. I want to have it finished by Christmas. Anyone else anjoy writing? |

lol, thanks, but like I said, I'm not much of a poet. My territory is stories. But, if I get inspired enough, I may write another. |

When I was younger I tried my hand at poetry. Most of it really sucked, it was a good way to get things off my chest and a way to express how I was feeling though. I liked to read some of yours if you would be so kind as to post them. I'm sure others would too.

I posted a poem I wrote for school, but I don't like it very much. As for stories, I usually write chapter stories, and they can get quite long. |

I read your poem, it was good.
:D Maybe you could post a little at a time? Over time we could get through a few chapters.

Very nice DnD, it evokes the right imagery of the nights in the forest. We'd love to see some of your stories too, please don't be shy.

I, do, like to write, too, DnD.
Although lately I've been very sick and couldn't get myself to write anything, I get those writer's block a lot too.
:( But I'll see if I can pull out some of my old stuff,
It's nice to see another writer on the boards,

Writing is really tough. I find it hard to be focused on one story. Well, I suppose I could post the prologue to a story I've been writing for a few years. It's been warped and twisted until now it's finally the kind of plot I could sink my teeth into as a reader. It's a fantasy and the first book of four, the one I spoke of in my first post. If you like it, I'll be happy to post the first chapter, and if you like that, I'll post the next and so on, so forth. However, I have been re-writing the prologue in a notebook so I will type out the changes and then post it. I also just posted a new poem, since you liked the first. It's not nearly as good, and very emo, but it's what I feel. Thank you all for your feedback on Dusk. It's really appreciated. |

I got about 260-or so pages into a fantasy novel and then...*POOF* the story went dead. Someday I will dig it up and start fresh. There used to be online (free) writers' workshops that I would visit and submit to...I must admit that chapters 1 and two got rave reviews. Then the workshop went to a pay-service.

the hardest thing about writing is getting all that information from outta your head and onto the printed page so that people who don't have a mind as screwed as your own can actually understand what the hell you are going on about without needing to become a psychiatrist imho :D |
