If you like comic books this is the place to talk about them! So who is your favorite character? These are my favorite! Silver Surfer The Silver Surfer is a Marvel Comics superhero. Created by writer Stan Lee and artist/co-writer Jack Kirby, he first appeared in The Fantastic Four #48 (March 1966). The Surfer was originally Norrin Radd, a young astronomer of the planet Zenn-La. He agreed to serve as herald to the god-like entity Galactus in order to save Zenn-La from the world devourer's insatiable hunger. Granted enormous cosmic powers (the Power Cosmic), a silvery appearance and a surfboard-like vehicle — all of which were modeled after a childhood fantasy of Radd — the Silver Surfer roamed the cosmos, searching for new planets for Galactus to consume. Thanos "The Mad Titan" ![]() Thanos was born on Saturn's moon, Titan. He is a mutant of the race of Eternals that live in a colony on that moon. He is a son of the colony's ruler, Mentor, and brother to Eros (Starfox). Suffering from the genetic disposition known as Deviant Syndrome, he was born with purple-grey, hide-like skin and a massive body. Although treated fairly by his people, Thanos grew distant and obsessive. By means of bionic implants and long hours of strength and ability-augmenting meditation, Thanos became the most powerful of the Titanian born Eternals. As his powers grew, so too did his ambition. (Note that the demonic Dragon of the Moon has claimed to be the influence of Thanos' evil tendencies.) He was eventually exiled from Titan for hideous crimes, including matricide. Ghost Rider ![]() The first supernatural Ghost Rider is stunt motorcyclist Johnny Blaze, who, in order to save the life of his mentor, agreed to serve as a host to the demonic entity Zarathos. When emitting Zarathos’ powers, Blaze's head became a flaming skull and he wielded a fiery motorcycle and trademark blasts of hellfire from his skeletal hands. He starred in an eponymous series from 1973-1983. |

Here's my all time fav!!! Wonder Woman ![]() Wonder Woman is a fictional DC Comics superheroine. Co-created by William Moulton Marston with his wife Elizabeth Holloway Marston, Wonder Woman first appeared in All Star Comics #8 (Dec. 1941). Among the first female heroes created, she is a founding member of the Justice League and arguably the most widely-known superheroine. In most adaptations, Wonder Woman is Princess Diana of the Amazon warrior tribe of Greek mythology. Diana is the Roman name for the Greek goddess on whom the character is based; she was called Artemis by the Greeks. The Amazon ambassador to the larger world, Diana was awarded several gifts by the Greek gods, including the Lasso of Truth (created from the Golden Girdle of Gaea) and indestructible silver bracelets (formed from the shield Aegis). For several years she was described, in the splash page of each story, as "beautiful as Aphrodite, wise as Athena, swifter than Mercury and stronger than Hercules." |

My favorite Comic Book Character has to be Johny The Homicidal Maniac by Jhonen Vasquez (mothers if you see your children with a copy of this take it off them) it is a very violent comic based on the adventures of a psychopath named Johny who likes, for various reasons, to paint his basement wall with fresh human blood. Anyway i like all the Comics by Vasquez and i recommend them to anyone who wants a good laugh, Here is a pretty standard frame from a JTHM comic ![]() Most of the humour is fairly similar to Ren and Stimpy only much more extreme |

My personal favs are: The Punisher: ![]() Who is possible the most vital and sadistic comic book hero ever... In his opinion, if you're guilty, you're dead... Also the character responsible for breaking the comics code... And nearly killing daredevil Spawn: ![]() Herr Starr ![]() |

Sweet! I have some Punisher collectibles, action figures, comics, etc. I love the movie, the original one that is, with Dolph Lungrin (sp?). I haven't seen the newer version. Just haven't gotten around to it. Good choice!

Another Comic book character i love is Lobo, he first appeared in Omega Man #3. Lobo is what is known as an "anti-hero" and is an intergalactic bounty hunter, he is certainly one of the funnier of the violent comics, He is pretty much an extreme version of "The Punisher" or Wolverine from the "X-Men" His superhuman (or super-Czarnian) abilities include enormous strength (which, however, seems to vary greatly; fanon speculates that his strength automatically scales up or down to match that of his opponent), the ability to survive unaided in space, a healing factor that heals ludicrous amounts of damage, an equally ludicrous sense of smell which allows him to track objects between solar systems, and the ability to regrow an entire new Lobo from each drop of his own spilled blood. This last ability was removed by Vril Dox. Despite his violent nature, Lobo has displayed a genius level intellect such as when he created a virulent plague of immense porportions (and its antedote) in about a week's time, and obliterated his species when he set it lose on Czarnia. Heres a picture Sorry its so large but i couldn't make it much smaller without losing all the detail. ![]() *edit* re-sized the pic - Horse |

The Lobo (while he IS cool) pic is way too large. It is distorting the page and makes it impossible to read others' posts...not to mention I can't edit it. Please make sure the images fit within the pages' sizes from now on...it kills us Firefox users who can't slide over. <_< |

Blasphemy!!! LOL jk I haven't read any of the comics... Then again i suppose it depends which Punisher series you read... For instance, the original version that is made available to the general public of all ages, is seriously toned down... The Knights series is more aimed at a teenage audience... The MAX collection... well... I don't think any hero in a comic has ever hung a slaver in a tree by his own intestines before...
