OK, so if you're all wondering how to make a sig, here's how i normally do it!

First of all, it's worth noting I use photoshop CS2.

1)First of all, we need to get the size of our sig just right. Normally I use 500*150 pixels. Go to File--->New and set the dimension parameters. Remember when making a sig, the width is always bigger than the height. Refer to the screenshot below:

2)Now we need to find an image to use in our sig. Try looking on the net. If you have a certain idea of what you wanna use, great! If not, keep looking around. I have chosen here to use "He Makes Us Dream" by Chet Zar. Open up the IMG

3)Now, we need to choose a background colour to go with the sig. My advice would be simply to use the eyedropper tool and select two colours from your source IMG (in this case Chet Zar's painting) and use them as a gradient for the sig. You'll see the gradient tool highlighted in the Tools bar.

4)Now we need to resize the source image. To do that go to Image---->Image size. Ideally, you want the height to be relative to the height of the sig.

5)Now that it's resized, we need to select the area to put into the sig. i would reccomend using the Magnetic Lasso tool. Select the area you want to use in your sig and it becomes highlighted on the edges like so:

6)Now go to Edit--->Paste and the IMG will appear in your sig. Now, if there are some edges missing, use the smudge tool to expand them. In the end, it oughta look something like this:

7)If you think the sig looks kinda empty still, keep looking for images to use! Perform steps 4-6 for the source images till you're happy with the sig. Then add a lil bit of text (for example your user name, and a slogan) and voila! Your sig is completed!!
