"Goddess of Flowers".

I attended a funeral yesterday and the memorial card had this poem on it. I thought it was really beautiful. I didn't write it but thought I would share it with you all. IM FREE Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free. I'm following the path God laid for me. I took his hand when I heard his call even though I didn't want to leave you all. I'd have loved to stay another day to laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way. God has granted me peace a the close of the day. If my parting has left a void, then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh a kiss; Oh yes, these things I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life's been full, I savored much. Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief. Don't lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your heart and share with me. God wanted me now, He set me free. |

Left Field it could very well have been read by the priest...As I said..I didn't write this poem..but thought it was sooo beautiful that I wanted to share it... Ravenheart...I too was touched and speechless when I first read it...I wish I knew who the author was. It doesn't say it on the memorial card. |

Mel, it is truely a beautiful place that is worth the few hour climb it takes (usually about two hours)!! You should see it after it rains!! It brings out a whole other side of the Mounitain that is usually not experienced. I have some pictures I will try to find of that!! Parth, you are thinking of Mt. Washington which is equally breathtaking and a bit larger than Mt. Monadnock. It is a much more difficult climb which is why they use the Cog Railway so that more people can experience it!! With Mt. Monadnock there are numerous trails for all levels of climbers and hikers which makes it a much more accessible Mountain. In fact, I remember a few years back reading an article that stated it was the second most climbed Mountain in the world, behind only Mt. Fuji!! I don't know if that still holds true, but I would not be surprised!! |

Have you ever been there before? It is beautiful there! Especially lake Winnapasaukee (Excuse my spelling!!). It can be crowded at times, but it is worth it and you will be close to the White Mountains of which Mt. Washington is the largest! It is too bad, though, that you did not come a few years ago and get the chance to see The Man in The Mountain which was a very old rock outcropping that truely looked like a mans head and face. It crumbled to the ground a couple years ago which devastated many people in NH as that is the State Symbol!! |
