A child that will bring love and hope, where it is badly needed A child knowing exactly her pre-ordained destiny A child who will hear the people, their pleas will be heard and heeded One that will not be afraid, to shy away from things needed, meant to be Foretold from a myth from long ago This child destined from birth, to fulfill to defeat evil, in anyway she can Destined to be the people's friend, not their foe She will stand out, above any woman or man. Raised by another, not by her father or mother Death to them had made it's presence known She would be the savior of a world very known to us, she will stand shoulder to should with her every sister and every brother She, the prodigy, learning things from the seeds we have sewn. Having supernatural powers from a race of long ago Foretold of in one way or another, she having the honor and the respect of the ancients She being like a Giselle in the wind as it blows In my heart, I believe from the ancients, she was sent. Her purpose here, to me has been made very clear No reason to doubt the ancients and the clues that have been found She will stand up to evil, to this she will never feel fear She on a path ordained by the ancients, to this path, she will forever be bound. |

Did you see the comment the guy made about why it'd be great for them to get JFK airport... "Russell Defreitas...said the airport named for the slain president was targeted because it is a symbol that would put "the whole country in mourning...It's like you can kill the man twice." How do you begin to understand any of these people when thoughts like that go through their head. And as far as I know, that guy grew up in America and still gets involved in something to attack his own country. It's crazy, but it seems there may be a lot more terrorists of some sort living in America then one would care to imagine. I hope that's not the case, but it seems there's been enough stories like this to make one think there might be. |

Its the same in the UK, the July 7th bombers were UK citizens. The thing that gets me is that is you talk to the REAL muslims they preach peace and tolerance and are horrified by the acts perpetrated in the name of their religion. |

Yea, I don't really look at it as a religious group behind it (although I know that motivates them). I mean if you're a terrorist, you're a terrorist. Whatever their religion is doesn't really matter beyond that, other than explaining part of the reason why their view of things is so skewed to begin with. |

I think that the people who want the terror attacks carried out brainwash the others to do it... Funny how all these so called religious clerics are not prepared to sacrifice their own lives eh |

Make no mistake about it, these Muslim terrorists are "real Muslims" too. IMO, there never can be any peace between Muslims and the western world, simply because of the radically different way women are treated. In our western world, women can be anything they want to be for which they are qualified. Not so in even the "moderate" Muslim world. The problem which always arises is that when the Muslim women see what western women are up to, they begin to want to do the same. This, the Muslim men just won't stand for, and they naturally blame our western society for enticing their women away from tradition. Peace just isn't in the cards for the foreseeable future. |

I agree to a certain extent... but we are talking culture vs religion... As part of my role at work I attended an Islamic Awareness day at a Mosque - it was a real eye opener for me. True Islamic doctrine actually allows women an equality with men that we are not taught. They are treated equally within the Koran and venerated as the giver and bringer of life. Women are encouraged to work (and their money is their own), own property (the husband has no rights over his wifes possessions) and are certainly not the chattels of their husbands. Unfortunately not all cultures follow the true teachings. Not that I am advocating their religion - I'm not a fan of religion as you are probably aware In many cases the teachings are corrupted however thats not the fault of Islam.... its the same with most religions. They are corrupted by people...

That's how I tend to look at it. I'm also not much for organized religions, or even religions in general, but I know I have some thoughts and feelings that may be based on religious beliefs from my upbringing. You mentioned brainwashing earlier, to me it seems all religions are involved in some depth of brainwashing in the sense children are raised to believe in certain things based on what their parents believe, and on what other members of their church believe. There's little kids who grow up in KKK families and from the time their as young as 4, 5, 6 years old, they're already entrenched in their parents beliefs. Isn't that more or less brainwashing a child? Whether you are raising them as Christians, Muslims, Jews or anything else, isn't it still the same premise that puts it all in motion? |

I think you hit the nail on the head with your last reply Left Field..Children learn from what they are taught..Think about what most parents tell their children..."Don't lie...always be honest..yada..yada..yada..."..and the first thing most parents do is lie to their children...as in.."The Easter Bunny, Santa Claus, etc,. "...Even childrens books are made up of fantasy worlds...The same would apply to religion..You don't at first pick your religion..you follow what your parents follow..and some of us pull away from it... "Terror---ism"...think of that word...and what it stands for ..."The use of terrorizing methods....The state of fear and submission so produced. a terroristic method of governing or of resisting a government "Terror---ist: a person/persons who uses or favors terrorizing methods... Now ask yourself What kind of person is this? How can they do what they thrive on doing? Are they just cowards hiding and then attacking..using morons to do their dirty work because they are too much of a coward to do it themselves? A coward is someone who is fearful of danger...will leave his comrades, family, etc, to retreat and save themselves...Yes...they are cowards. The morons they enlist to do their dirty work are brainwashed into thinking that they will have "X amount of virgins blah, blah, blah"...read the Koran people...it doesn't say that ... For someone to believe so strongly that people should die in bloodshed..and also..what do they feel they will gain if the US or UK etc,. are wiped away??? What have they gained....Nothing IMO...They call us infidels...maybe they should look in the mirror and dig deep...They would find an infidel.. Also with terrorism or terrorists...."You can't stop them, if you can't find them and get them to understand that what they are doing is wrong....They won't understand that logic"...it's embedded in their brains...and nobody is going to stop terrorism...nobody !!!!! |

What we are forgetting is that the true teachings may be corrupted, but they have been followed in this fashion since the very beginning. When people say that this is the work of a fringe group of radicals it makes me laugh. The peaceful followers are the fringe groups. Look all over the world today and you will see it is the same. Islam does things one way: by the sword. In an all-or-nothing, convert-or-die fashion. The very first thing that Muslims did when they got a concentration of power under the Arabic Moors was to cut an invasionary swath all the way through Hispania and the entire Iberian peninsula until they were beat by Charles Martel (Charles the Hammer...not M.C. Hammer). They tried again and got beat back by the Pols. When Muslim ships were raiding early American vessels in the Mediterranean and enslaving their sailors and passengers, Thomas Jefferson asked the pirates why they did it, and they replied 'Because you are infidels and the Koran says we can". Bottom line: Is this true of all religions? Well, most. But most wised up and got at least a bit civilized. The Christian wars are all fought politically now. Is it misconstruing Islam? Maybe taking it out of context...I have read the Koran, and it is as brutal as the old testament. But like the old testament, followers pick and choose which parts to use verbatim and which to ignore. Islam may be misused by the people following it, but is now and always has been the same way...and misused by the majority. |

I think that every religion, except perhaps Buddhism (but I could be wrong), upholds the idea of segregation and exclusion. The idea is that anyone who doesn't agree with your religion is going to hell is present in all main religions; Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Sikhism... the list goes on. While there's that mentality, there's always going to be a certain amount of hostility towards others who don't think like you do. The thing is with all the old scriptures, is that the language and the way we speak has evolved so much since they were written, that they're always open to different interpretations. It's like Shakespeare, the meanings and definitions change so often that new editions have to be released every year. While that confusion exists, people can say whatever they want and claim it's what the scripture says to them. |
