I enter this temple of magic and mysticism, long after all ancient worshippers are gone In this place, I look at the ancient walls, their hyroglifs, I wonder who saw these Most people would fear being in this place, now so dark, alone But not me, as I feel privilege to be standing, where I know royalty has stood, I feel as if I should ask please. The voices of those long gone, you can hear their cries from the wonder art from walls and columns here As if they are saying, a mortal, life, it has been so very long A mortal has walked the earth here, because most mortals are filled with fear Like it's crying for the population, the one, to which this place once belonged. This place, very little unchanged, over the long period of space and time Sometimes, almost being totally covered in the infinite desert sand But there was always someone to free you, so you could once more guard, all that is sublime No explanation, why you are, as far as we know, your image could belong to another land. No records or writings to your true purpose, exist today Everyone always thinking, you had to be linked to the religion of that day Through the ages, many looked at you, as an Egyptian God, willing to worship you without delay I have to wonder how many civilizations, you dutifully watched, as they worked, as they would play. Many lifetimes, I bet you have guarded and protected this plateau Giving the illusion, this place was yours and yours alone If you could speak, I wonder what you would say, as you survey all below? But through the ages, you have remained, after all the others had gone. You alone, in your right, you are the eighth wonder of the ancient world Not many ancient civilizations, could have created such an amazing feat You so regal and majestic, no more like you throughout the world You the Sphinx, you guarding, watching for eons, to protect all from your front row seat. |

The man suspected of shooting his estranged wife through a glass door at an Old Chicago restaurant might have fled for the woods, police said Sunday. Capt. Jeff Schulz said people who knew David Munis, 36, told police that Munis was a "big hunter" and an avid outdoorsman. That Munis may have been headed for any one of the region's vast national forests wasn't especially helpful information, however. "The woods, obviously, is a pretty big area when you're talking about Wyoming, Montana," Schulz said. He said he doubted, but hadn't ruled out, that Munis was still in Cheyenne. Robin Munis, 40, was shot while singing in a band shortly after midnight Saturday. Police suspect that the bullet came from the parking lot behind the restaurant. They found the bullet lodged in a door frame. Schulz said police had talked with David Munis just hours before the shooting. The Munises had been separated for a few weeks and Robin Munis had moved out of their home. On Friday, she called police after getting several harassing but non-threatening phone calls from her estranged husband, according to Schulz. Story continues here |
