Bolt from the blue as lightning strikes twice

Lightning does strike twice - ask Don Frick. Photograph: Mark Wilson/Getty

While folklore may suggest that lightning demurs from striking the same place twice, it apparently shows no such restraint with people.

Don Frick might have been mulling over that distinction at the weekend after he was hit by a bolt from the heavens on Friday - 27 years to the day after first being struck by lightning.

Mr Frick emerged shaken, with only a burned zip and a hole in the back of his jeans, from his latest high-voltage experience

Well Melanie this was years ago and a terrible storm came through and the house was hit because at that time they didn't have lightning protection. They claim it cracked the walls and cracked the toilet also...I guess it was severe.. I've heard that lightning is attracted to water. Anyways there was some damage to the house but dad just was a little cinged. :lmao: He was ok just knocked off the "What do you call them in the UK? The Loo. LOL :lmao: when it was cracked :lmao: I always thought it was a funny story but then again . It probably wasn't at the time. They claim I was in the crib just below where the crack in the ceiling occured. Yep I was a young baby at the time.

I know it is humerous but the way my father describes it, it wasn't a funny matter :lmao:

I remember as a child that when we would have severe storms my mother and father made all of us sit in one room and we had to be very quiet. I have no idea why but I always thought that very strange. I guess they thought that if we had a tornado that they would have us all in one place so they could get us to safety??? Don't know.
