A man riding an unlicensed motorcycle in Copiague made an obscene gesture at two police officers and did a wheelie right in front of them, then led the officers on a chase, Suffolk police said yesterday. The pursuit ended with the rider under arrest after he crashed the bike into a police cruiser, giving himself minor injuries. Frank Patti, 26, of West Islip, was arrested at 7:30 p.m. Sunday by First Precinct police officers Kathleen Focas and Anthony Calato. He was charged with unlawfully fleeing police and resisting arrest. He also faces numerous moving violations. Patti was riding west on Dixon Avenue near South Great Neck Road in Copiague on the unregistered 2006 Kawasaki bike when he saw the two officers parked at a service station, according to a police report. "Patti looked at the officers, raised his middle finger in their direction, brought the motorcycle up onto the back wheel, a maneuver often referred to as a 'wheelie,' and took off southbound at a high rate of speed," the report said. "He dangerously weaved in and out of traffic, changing lanes erratically. At Great Neck Road and Oak Street, he executed another wheelie and continued southbound." Near Montauk Highway on Great Neck Road, Patti turned left into a shopping center parking lot and tried to reach Montauk Highway but he crashed into a marked police car, police said. He was arrested and taken to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore where he was treated and released for minor injuries, police said. Patti was held overnight at the First Precinct station. He pleaded not guilty and was ordered held on $5,000 bail. The motorcycle was impounded by police for verification of ownership. Source What a retard.
