Breast-feeding, cell-using driver charged Ohio police cite woman with child endangerment updated 4:32 p.m. ET, Sat., Feb. 28, 2009 KETTERING, Ohio - Police in Ohio say a woman has been charged with child endangerment after another motorist reported she was both breast-feeding the youngster and talking on a phone while driving. Police in the Dayton suburb of Kettering say the caller told them he saw the woman Thursday. Officer Michael Burke says authorities used a license plate number to track down 39-year-old Genine Compton. He said the woman told officers she was breast-feeding and wouldn't let her child go hungry. Burke said the legal concern is that Compton had a child in her lap while driving, not that she was breast-feeding in public. He said the child was under 2 years old. Police say the woman faces up to 180 days in jail and a $1,800 fine if convicted of the misdemeanor. * Pull the freakin car over..get off the damn cell phone and feed your child...These types of women need to quit multi-tasking She was endangering the life of her child **Also breast feeding in public should not be a crime as long as it's done with modesty* http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/29441879/?GT1=43001 |

ok, i don't mind multi-tasking but sheesh.......not while you're behind the wheel. like Mystical said.....pull over then put your child safely back in their carseat. just on a side note......why in the world is a 2 yr old still breast-feeding??? |

I think they said the child was under 2 yrs old but didn't give it's exact age. I don't think people realize how dangerous it is to be in a car to begin with..Accidents happen in seconds..and it's human error most of the time. Not paying attention etc,. When you put your child in a car make sure they are safely secured in that car seat it gives them a fighting chance in case of a accident. In this article the womans defense was that she didn't want her child to go hungry...she is lucky that there was no accident or she would never feed that child again...and the cell phone at the same time...grrr..

I am surprised no one (not necessarily anyone on this site) has jumped up and down and said the woman was indecently exposing herself like a sex pervert to all the passing motorists. Forget the fact she is a moron and endangering peoples lives. |

Driving or riding in an automobile is so dangerous that it is a wonder that it is allowed at all. Hmmmmm . . . before long, perhaps that won't be allowed either. Life itself is hazardous. Always. Best stay in a padded cell with keepers, if you want to be safe. . . even then . . . |
