Published Date: 29 July 2005 YORKSHIRE is the second most haunted place in Britain and the UK's top location for spotting UFOs, research has claimed. The region even has an area which has been dubbed "the British Bermuda Triangle" and it includes Knaresborough! The Yorkshire Triangle – where ghostly sightings in the county are most common – is between York, Harrogate and Leeds. was second only to Cornwall in the findings, which has been labelled Britain's most mysterious location. Many supernatural sightings were uncovered in York, including an apparition of a ghostly rider said to still ride the streets – the man was crushed to death for murdering his children many years ago and it is said can still be seen riding to Calverley, in Leeds, crying out "More weight! More weight!" to shorten his agonising death. And the chance of seeing something unidentifiable in the skies of our region is statistically the best in the country. The findings were collected by paranormal researchers commissioned by television channel Sky Travel to publicise the start of its Mysterious Britain season. The team was lead by Lionel Fanthorpe, a leading authority on supernatural activity. They spent two months recording all the documented cases of UFO sightings, crop circle phenomena, ghosts and reports of inexplicable creatures charted against a map of British Isles. scource: http://www.harrogateadvertiser.net/newsknaresborough/Looking-for-UFOs-Visit-Knaresborough.1099818.jp Edited by Wabbit, Jul 25 2009, 02:22 AM.
