Yesterday or today Nintendo officially said the Wii U is going to be released on November 18th!

The price will be 300$ for a new Wii U and 1 controller, and all neccisary cords and what not.

For an extra 50$ you get a large assortment of accessories or something. I didn't read it to much, but it sounds like you get a worthwhile package for the extra moola.

The Xbox and Playstation, as far as I can tell, have not even begun work on their new systems. So at the very least, the Wii U is the only one coming out any time soon.

OH yeah, important to know is that the Wii-U is BACKWARDS COMPATIBLE. You can play WII games on it, and use the Wii Remote as a controller in your games! You cannot, however, play Gamecube games on it.
As well, Nintendo will be allowing a Wireless transfer of your game data and games from the Wii to the Wii U.

Not very many launch titles at the moment (a total of 5) but I am guessing a large assortment of games will come out shortly after.

The new controller...it costs 200$ (200 $ Im repeating unless the info was to WHHHAAAT for you)
Note: The system comes with one. So if you want to play with friends, and they have a Wii U, then your good...if not...
They can use the wii remote!!! Still, this is going to be the most expensive game controller EVER.

No Super Smash Launch Title (Sad face for Chaco)

+
-Large hard-drive

-Downloadable games

-Innovative controller, fresh games and the Wii-U has more new features than the previous system x10

The launch titles (Games which are released the same day as the Wii-U) are as follows.

New Super Mario Bros U
Well it's NINTENDO, you need a mario title.
This one is going to offer a few pivotal new features the original Wii title didn't, and will take advantage of
the new controller.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2
I was shocked to hear, but yes the Wii has decided to start getting some shooting games onto it's console.
This may actually invite a whole slew of gamers to their side, and also means they are going to be tar getting
more adult audiences with this console.
It was a very good choice for Nintendo, since having a COD game means all those fans who didn't buy a wii
for the reason that "it has no good shooters" will now be able to do so.
Even more so, the Wii will take advantage of the controller to make this game different on Wii U than on any other console.
I've never been a fan of COD games, but, even I'm exited because it means Nintendo's promise to make a system for "everyone" is coming true.

Zombi U
Finally, a good zombie game on the Wii. Since Left for Dead 2 I've been waiting for a zombie game that doesnt suck. Seems this one might take the cake.
You use the controller a lot in this one. As everything from a flashlight, to a door unlocking device. They really take the innovation in their new controller to new heights with this one, and the title seems to be a blood filled zombie killing great game!
Honestly, I think this one is the best and most intriguing launch title, as it takes FULL advantage of that new 200$ controller.
Oh and if you die and your playing co-op YOU COME BACK AS A ZOMBIE! :D

Rayman Legends
Targetted to all ages, Rayman is one of the most under-rated game franchises after Suikoden. Rayman games are always fun, story wise they are unique, character and graphically beautiful, and full of great action platforming fun!
So this is a great choice for the release!
I wonder, if Nintendo was willing to make Rayman legends a release, is Rayman making a huge come back??
Will we be seeing him in the new SSB game??

Nintendo Land
NIntendo land is, essentially, the same as the Wii's launch title "Wii Sports." only way damn better.
Basically, this game has a large assortment of mini-games to play, which will show off what this system can do!
I dunno much about it, they showed it at E3 and it looked stupid to me, but I think this one is the Wii's geared for kids game, so I likely didn't appreciate it as such, they also could have done a bad job presenting since, you know, E3 kinda sucked.
That said, people say this game is good. Full of things to do, hours and hours of gameplay, Fun party game for the whole family, and CROSS OVERS from other games, such as Metroid and Pikman!!!
The cross over aspect seems appealing to me.
