Name of Nation: The Colony of Liamton
National Motto: "Representing Liam & LSE”
National Animal: Escaping Marmaduke
National Currency: Ch-ching
Current UN Classification: Father Knows Best State

It could easily be said that money is at the heart of the Liamist States' Empire. A recent survey showed that the 12 nations in the LSE produced over $117 trillion in Gross Imperial Product, 56% of which was provided by the Liamist States. But actually, one man is at the centre: Liam (duh). Liam is the undisputed leader of all the LSE, except for Liamopolis which is under direct control of Prince Liam II, son of Liam (it was his 18th birthday, "Here son, have a country"). He holds civil rights and economic power dear and tends to reject religion and defence. The Environment sucks away a lot of the budget (unfortunately, too much as in the Liamist States where it takes 25%), as does Education and, in smaller quantities, health, social welfare and, occassionally, social equality, law & order and commerce. Democracy is a part of Fairbank, Gradburg, Trenport and Liamistan and, after being recently reintroduced after several millennia, the Liamist States. The remaining Colonies, Adali, City de Liam and Liamopolis are mostly dictatorships. But no democracy exists in LSE without dictatorship, with Liam being fairly elected to leader for life, and no dictatorship exists without democracy, with the people voting on mainly trivial matters.

Liamton is a Colony of LSE. It’s neither particularly big nor important. Its contribution to the Gross Imperial Product is significant, for a colony. The surrounding environment seems to be of average interest: it consists mostly of rolling green hills with some foliage and the occasional flying Escaping Marmaduke. All the people have settled in the main township of Liamton which has recently settled in the north of The Exodus, after many years without even being noticed by the rest of the empire. Liamton is ready to involve itself and spread the Empire's influence. It is hoped that Liamton will form many new bonds with positive results. And to kick things off, please accept a pair Maramdukes (breed of your choice. Currently 9 have been discovered: Common, Royal, Fanatical, Suited, Dusty, Lazy, French, Escaping & Monkeified).

I am doing quite well economically. I do keep getting a lot of the same issues, which is sort of weird. My economy is still lagging behind Ahimsan Islands. :):)

Why is my economic rating: IMPLODED?

I'd like to improve, but every time they give me an economic issue it really hits a hotbutton with me and I vote against private enterprise. They're always trying to screw my citizens.

Goverment Waste: $217,688,486.40
This hurts, and so does
Trade Deficit: $4,537,115.35

Help!!! Just wanted to be a peaceful, sex-based society!

I don't always agree with capitalist decisions. This is a fantasy game, and my fantasy is that socialism would actually work if I was in control. I enjoy my nations biography, just not being called an IRON fisted socialist, and not having an Imploded economy. Hopefully some choices will come that I can be a more moderate socialist.

That site is way cool.

My Rael is in serious Debt. We buy more than we sell. Now that My Rael is on the map, we can build resorts and casinos, and turn that puppy right around.

Is that something we developed or part of NationStates?

I believe a nation from the game took it upon themselves to make that site. It is quite good and very impressive. :):)
