The Most Interesting Man

Here we have an end to a great trilogy with a great story line. A few tweaks and some additions from 2 have made this game quite possibly the best in the series.

GRAPHICS: Graphics haven't really changed much IMO. Just a few minor tweaks and the scenery looks a little more detailed. Other than that it looks pretty much the same as 2.
CONTROLS: Normally this isn't stressed on too much, but I have to cover it. The actions are the same, but the movement of the characters and performing actions is so much smoother. It doesn't have the clunky control feeling that 1 and 2 had. Your also not limited to rolling in the cardinal directions anymore (up, down, left, right). You can roll up-left, down-left, etc. Weapons also have a bloom effect when you fire from ADS.
SOUND: Sound hasn't changed at all. Still the same old sound effects.
WEAPONS AND TOOLS: Gears 3 introduces a lot of new weapons and tools. The one shot is like the mulcher and mortars, except it's got a zoom and charge function. Once it charges, it shoots and takes down anything with one shot minus brumaks. The vulcan mini gun is a 6 barrel gun with an attached ammo box. One player fires away while the other holds the box and feeds ammo into the gun. The gorgon pistol is now fully automatic. The retro lancer is just like the lancer, but with more damage, less accuracy, smaller magazine, and a bayonet. You can charge enemies with it and gore them. The digger is a boomshot like gun, except it shoots underground projectiles that will shoot above ground and explode once it reaches an enemy or a wall. It can go under objects like cars and low barricades that can be mantled. The sawed off shotgun is a very deadly weapon at close range, but outsede of like, 3-5 feet it isn't an instakill. It's one shot, and a long reload time. The hammerburst now has the ability to ADS with iron sites like a regular FPS. Incendiary grenades explode on impact and light anything on fire within roughly a 3 foot radius. The Multi-turret is put together using 4 retro lancers or 4 boomshots. The lancer ones are more found on the ground, while the boomshot ones are found more on the gas barges. Silverbacks are a human manned robot with attached minigun and rockets. They can take a lot of damage, but will explode if too much damage is take. The butcher's meat cleaver is also a usable weapon now.
MULTIPLAYER: Just like any other game, multiplayer is a big point. One major addition is the use of DEDICATED SERVERS. No more host advantage, everything is equal unless you have a terrible connection. Like anyother game, there is an in game host, but if the host quits it shifts over to a new host like in MW2 or Blops. The game really feels more competitive with the dedicated servers.
HORDE: Horde mode gets a few additions that make it more interesting. You can now chose a command post at the start of the game and from there you earn cash by killing enemies. With said cash, you can buy turret emplacements for your base, put up spike strips, decoys, and buy a silverback. Everything except the silverback is upgradeable. Spikes can be upgraded to razorwire and eventually to laser barriers. Decoys can gain explosive capabilities, and turrets can be upgraded to better turrets such as boomshot turrets. Every 10th wave also includes a boss fight, like a brumak, berserker, or giant corpser. Weapons also spawn on the map, but you have to pay for them.
BEAST: The new game mode everyone was waiting for. You play as the locust attacking humans. 12 Total waves. There are regular stranded and COG "Heroes". COG must be executed when you down them, and stranded can be taken out normally. You start with a base of weaker locust like tickers, wild tickers, wretch, and savage drone. As you kill stranded and there defenses (fences, silverbacks, etc.) you gain cash and a certain percentage toward unlocking the next row of locust. It cost cash to choose the locust. The better the locust, the more cash. Different locust include kantus, boomers, smaller corpsers, armored kantus, and berserkers. Every locust also has a special ability, suck as kantus being able to heal and revive others, wild tickers can take down emplacements without taking damage, and the berserker can charge and ramrod through anything.

Overall the game is the best in the series IMO. I find myself playing horde and best a lot vs. regular multiplayer. I highly recommend picking it up if you haven't already.
