Name: Artemis Ariadne Demopoulos (Art-a-miss Are-re-odd-nay Dem-opp-o-lus)

Nickname: Usually just goes by Artemis but will respond to Art or Artie

Species: Witch

Age: Eighteen

Year: Seventh

Weapon: A wand (on occasion)

Animal: n/a

Desired Magic: Fire, Air and Spirit

Appearance: Artemis is tall in stature and very lanky and after spending a childhood with a family very well rounded in etiquette, Artemis always stands up straight and tall. Though she has learned her posture from her mother's etiquette book, she developed her alertness by herself. Like most Greeks, she has thick hair, taking the shade of a dark charcoal, and large eyes. Artemis usually has a deep and thoughtful expression on her face and some times seems to be troubled by unknown things. Preferring hands on magic over her wand, Artemis keeps her hands polished and manicured. Artemis also has unnaturally rosy cheeks which is pretty much from sun damage back in the Mediterranean. Unlike other Mediterraneans, she is slightly pale due to her magical background. Artemis is partial to her thick eyebrows and her natural look since she is both a witch and a Greek. If required, Artemis will wear her hair up though she would rather keep it down and unrestricted, showing a free spirit. Artemis wears a long, high collared cream robe, covered with a red tunic.

Personality: Artemis is a thoughtful and quiet person, a common thing amongst Mediterraneans. Though she keeps a serious demeanor, Artemis is a very laid back person. Though she usually seems serious, Artemis also tries to be a very elegant and graceful person, though this is usually to please her parents. Being at school, she sometimes lets her habit down. She's dedicated to what she does and likes to stick with something; she's one of those people that has the mentality to not give up. There are many different variables that add up to Artemis's love for cats but one thing is for sure: she loves them. She's had many cats over the years, when she was seven she had five that she individually cared for, but when she left home to go to school her parents bought her a black cat just for the sake of being cliche. Artemis is always thinking and usually shows it in her facial expressions. She's a very inquisitive person and will usually not rest until she's found what she's looking for. Artemis is also one that is quick to question things and she always seems suspicious about things. Though she is of the quite sort, Artemis isn't shy. Though she tries to keep interactions to a minimum just for the sake of staying quiet, she will talk to people on a regular basis or if she has to.

History: Born in Thebes, Greece, Artemis Ariadne Demopoulos was born to bureaucrats of the magical community of Europe, Penelope and Androcles Demopoulos. Being around many dignitaries of both the magical and non-magical communities, Artemis learned at an early age about sophistication. She also learned that little girls don't interrupt when the prime minister of Italy's magical community is speaking at the dinner table. So, Artemis learned quickly to become a quiet and reserved child. She spent most of her time studying random things in her father's library or with her cats while she waited for the important people to leave her house. Though, the dinner parties never seemed to end. As a child, Artemis always wondered why they seemed to be the ones hosting the dinner parties instead of going to them, though they did travel on occasion for the sake of a gettogether.

Aside from debutant training, Penelope also trained Artemis throughout her childhood in magical studies. Though it was common and more traditional to practice magic with a wand, Artemis seemed to prefer to perform spells hands on, feeling a deeper connection with her magic that way than with a wand. Of course, Artemis showed much promise in her magic and continued fourth with studying on her own time than just what her mother's weekly lesson plan consisted of. But then, like most teenagers with aspirations, there always had to be a road block and for her oddly enough, it was her family. Artemis's large and family-oriented family constantly bothered her with questions about settling down from an early age and expected her to marry off to someone by seventeen or eighteen. These conversations with her family usually made Artemis uncomfortable since she was a slightly introverted person and wanted to keep to herself instead of devoting her time to some boy. However, her family considered it a great disappointment should their little Artie not marry off to a handsome man and have many children to add to their family tree and Artemis wanted nothing more than to please her family like a good child. The whole concept bothered Artemis tremendously. At one point, she gave in and gave it a chance with a few of the local boys she happened to come across. Knowing nothing of the "courtship process" Artemis considered the entire experience awkward and for the first time, completely gave up on something. So, at the age of thirteen, Artemis begged and pleaded and petitioned and finally convinced her parents to let her study abroad and go to school as far away from home as she could get. Though it is the least of her worries, her family does constantly question her on whether or not she's "met anyone" yet when she comes home on holidays.

Other: Artemis owns a black cat named Athena.
