Kids are usually five when they start primary school over here, to answer Trombo's question. Even though I said that on the shoutbox, I felt I ought to contribute to this thread. :P

So Primary is like the US's Elementary (K-5 or 6)?

Uh, yeah, I think so. From reception (kindergarten) to year 6.

As I said, where I live is the only US exception. We're possibly going to start conforming to the way most schools are in the US. I don't know if the decision's been made or what they've decided if they have decided, but I know it is a decision that is on their hands (the big school peoples in my area, like the superintendent and all those honchos).

So yeah, we have K-6, 7-9, and 10-12, then college, of course. Now, I won't get affected because if we do conform it will be in 2 years, so I'll be in high school either way.

So yeah. I'm in 8th grade right now, I've so far had 7 days. That means 167.5 to go... hah :P

(Oh by the way don't worry about the title, as you know I never have clever titles xD)

And I'll be starting my first day in year 10. Scary!

Ah, year 10... In a class with my friends... No Andrea, Anna or Stephanie... Subjects I chose... No more Geography... It's gonna be good!

10th year? That means RDR's a year older than me! Nooo!

Here's a song by Good Charlotte that ties in with this subject.

It's a new day, but it all feels old
It's a good life, that's what I'm told
But everything, it all just feels the same
At my high school, it felt more to me like a jail cell, a penitentiary
My time spent there it only made me see

That I don't ever wanna be like you
I don't wanna do the things you do
I'm never gonna hear the words you say
and I don't ever wanna.
I don't ever wanna be.you.
don't wanna be just like you
What I'm saying is this is the anthem
throw all your hands up
you.don't wanna be you

Go to college, a university, get a real job
That's what they said to me
But I could never live the way they want
I'm gonna get by and just do my time
Out of step while they all get in line
I'm just a minor threat, so pay no mind

Do you really want to be like them,
Do you really wanna be another trend,
Do you wanna be part of that crowd
cause I don't ever wanna.
I don't ever want to be you.
don't wanna be just like you
what I'm saying is.this is the anthem
throw all your hands up.you.
don't wanna be you.

Music is your own experience, your own thoughts, your wisdom. If you don't live it, it won't come out of your horn. They teach you there's a boundary line to music. But, man, there's no boundary line to art.

I'm going in to year 8 soon. I keep the same teacher for two years and the one I got in year 7 was nice, so this year will be the same.

Cool. I kept the same form tutor for three years, and now I'm getting a new one. I don't know her, as I've never had anything with her, but my granddad knows her as they both used to teach at the same school. Also, the classes are being mixed up when we go into year 10, so I don't know most of the people who I'm going to be with. It'll only be for registration and tutor time (citizenship) though, as we've chosen a lot of the subjects we'll be doing this year, so we won't be with our entire forms for very much at all. Goodbye Geography, Music and RE! :D

im going into year 9, and we keep the same tutor for all five years of high school, unless they are pregnant or get promoted to another (better) school or if they quit because they get shouted at by the school kids and hate the school altogether :)
lol
