I'm book reporting!

Seekers: The Quest Begins | 304 pages

1. No, my book is not historical fiction or nonfiction.
2. Hunter, Erin. Seekers: The Quest Begins. Advance Reader's Edition. New York: HarperCollins, 2007.
3. This book follows three different characters in three different settings. They are all set in modern times. Kallik’s part of the story is set in a polar region, crossing later into a forest setting, probably in Canada, but no specific locations are given. Lusa is a zoo animal, so her story is mostly told from the black bear exhibit at the unnamed zoo. Toklo’s story is told from a mountainous forest region somewhere in northwestern North America.
4. One of the primary conflicts in The Quest Begins is Kallik’s struggle against the forces of nature. During the ice-melt that the spring brings in her home, she and her family (her mother and her brother) were separated when the ice melted earlier than expected. Kallik was left alone to swim to shore, not knowing where she was or when she would reach the shore. When she did eventually reach land, after swimming for hours against the rough current, she had no idea how to find food in the new setting, nor could she recognize any of the plants. She finally found another bear to teach her how to find food and shelter after trying to cross a highway.
5. Three major themes in my book are

NOW I'M X-PROJECTING!

Conclusion

My experiment was focused on this question: “What is the affect of change in diet on a guinea pig’s amount of activity?” The main goal of this experiment was to see which type of food is most nutritious to a guinea pig, judged by how active the guinea pig was the days it ate that type of food. Another goal of this experiment was to see how active a guinea pig usually is, regardless of diet.

Isn't this exciting?

Awww - guinea pigs are cute! And I've never had one but my friend's is active. And if they're anything like my old hamster then they're constantly actuve.

Guinea-pigs are not like hamseters. I take personal offence at that remark.

Ooh! Once we brought in my rabbits and my guinea-pigs at the same time, and the guinea-pigs started chasing the rabbits round the living room floor! Never again. :P

Aren't guinea pigs just oversized hamsters? And also - if it was my old rabbit then your guinea pig would not have been doing the chasing. My old rabbit was a physco.

Guinea pigs are a lot lazier than hamsters. They'll run around, but...

You can't be serious, can you? You take personal offense to having someone compare guinea pigs to hamsters, but you openly say "if I had a gun I'd shoot a dog"? That's hypocrital and inconsiderate.

Effing school is the reason for my absences. The system is too effing retarded for me to do my homework. Or at least, for me to do enough of it that's enough for my dad. "You don't do your homework because you spend all your time on the computer." You don't dancing get it, dad.

Grr.

Final grades this tri:

Math - C+
PE - A
Science - C
Study Hall - A
Language Arts - C
Social Studies - C+

Not that I'm happy about straight C's, but this is SO much better than my last report card. And I got an A- on the huge essay I thought I was going to crash and burn on.

HEY, SKINAVISH, I DID BETTER THAN YOU ON THAT ESSAY, HAHA!!
