There are two problems with your schedule: 1: Band, lack of 2: German, lack of 3: French Le français est la plus mauvaise langue existante. |

My school is a specialist language school, so French is comulsary (dammit, I am SO gonna fail my French GCSE!). Dropped Music for reasons I've already explained, and I picked Latin over German as a second language in Year Seven and started it in Year Eight. Sure, the German people (the students who wre learning German XD) got to go on a German exchange last year, but we got to go to Bath, and this year we get to go to Greece (except I can't go, because my parents couldn't afford it. it was, like, £600 for one student!). There's no speaking or listening as with the other languages, and once I got to hold a Roman spear in class. I nearly got my friend Flic with it, but the teacher stopped me before I could!
One day I might tell you guys about the time we went to Bath, but it's quite a long story. All I can tell you now is that it involves aliens and ice-cream, and lots and lots of Maoams.
Here is a list of the comulsary subjects: Science IT English Maths French PE Tutor Social Studies and we got a choice between History and Geography. There was no contest whatsoever. Apparently there are only about five people in the Geography class! |

Yes, as you probably know by now. A lowercase U is changed. It's really a problem... I know -SP- was trying to keep people from using that instead of the word "you", but I really think I should change it... Sorry -SP- for not asking your permission, but this has got to stop Edit: The word filter has been removed, but it won't change any previous filterings. |

Well, today my band had a football game, and then a few things led to a few other things. On the first song, I almost knocked my stand over with my Trombone, and then, a few songs later, the screw on my spit valve came off. Luckily, I have my spit valve. Thirdly, I lost my spit valve halfway through the first game, so I couldn't tell my band director about until our break, and then I couldn't play during the second game. Which, frankly, sucked. Just so you guys know, I'm still only in middle school, so our games are quite short most of the time.

I went camping for a day and missed marching band practice. It is going to suck trying to catch up. They worked on this huge body sequence at the end of tthe second movement. |

Yeah, see, this is why you shouldn't do marching band. I mean, why not just band? You don't have to move around and all that crap... |

Well, there are several good reasons: 1: It's one of the easiest ways in the world to instantly make a bunch of friends. 2: It makes you a better player. I'm serious about this. My sound has improved so much since I joined marching band. 3: It helps get you in shape. 4: You get oppurtunities to meet oter musicians. Some people from a nearby high school came over when we had a guest speaker. 5: It's fun. 6: See new places. The marching band's going to Hawaii this year. They went to England in my sister's senior year. They also go to Atlanta for Grand Nationals. There's a bunch of fund raising to help pay for it. 7: Help out the school. Marching band helps fill half time with music and does pep band during the timeouts/play reviews. |

It does float my boat. In fact, it's not just marching band I love. I love all forms of band music. Next year, I'll take a music theory class, and I'm asking my band director tomorrow if I can borrow a trumpet from the school to learn to play it. This will be a big acheivement because not only will I be learning my third instrument, but it will help me learn to read treble clef. Once I learn treble clef, I'll try alto and tenor clef. I'm also hoping that learning the trumpet will help me increase my range on the trombone. After the trumpet, I'll go on to learn either the flute or the alto sax. As you can see, I'm planning on a career in music. My college plans are this: I'll probably go to Ball State. With the help of summer classes at a community college, I'm going to try and triple major in music, computer programming, and chemistry in that order. With a college plan like that, I probably won't be able to get a minor, but if I can, I want to minor in either economics or, if possible, teaching. I also plan on getting a lifeguard license. As you can see, I have big plans in my future. |

Good luck with that, Trombo! I want to be a photographer/ part time author, but I have no idea what subjects I'll be doing whenever. I just go with the tide, y'know?
