Actually the Spring season for Snow geese goes from March 1sth to May 31st in WMU 65 :-). Most of the geese are in the far East of the unit, but I have seen them as far West as Russell. Hunting Snows is a little different than hunting Canada's. You need many decoys to get snows to commit, however silhouettes & simple sock decoys work well also. If you are interested in hunting these geese, get in your vehicle & drive out East along the 417 until you start seeing them in the fields. Good luck with your Snow goose hunting if you decide to pursue it.

A couple years ago there were lots of them in fields between moose creek and maxville . They were on corn and bean fields and the most were near and on ditches and big low spots full of water. I was on back roads in that area to get a part for my tractor. The hardest part will be to get permission to hunt the land. My receipt was dated April 26 so right now will probably prime time.
We used to use big white socks stuffed with straw, stuck on top of a foot and a half rod strong enough to hold the sock when pushed in ground. Also wooden decoys cut out of plywood and painted and nailed to small wooden stakes. The more you make the better your chances.
